The media could not be loaded. I don’t usually get excited about kitchen appliances, but this SMEG 4-slice toaster is genuinely on another level. First, the design alone is enough to make you want it—it’s that perfect blend of retro charm and modern luxury that instantly upgrades the whole countertop. It feels solid, premium, and just beautiful to look at. Functionally, it’s fantastic. The toasting is consistent every single time, and I love that each side works independently so I can do toast on one set and bagels on the other without fighting for settings. The bagel mode is chef’s kiss—crispy on the cut side, warm on the other. The wider slots also handle everything from thick sourdough slices to frozen waffles with no problem. The controls are smooth, the browning levels are accurate (no random burnt surprises!), and it even lifts the toast high enough that you don’t burn your fingers fishing anything out. It feels like SMEG really thought through every detail. Is it pricier than the average toaster? Absolutely. But the design, craftsmanship, and consistent performance make it more than worth it.
