I picked this up to add a doorbell extension in my study so I could actually hear when someone was at the front door. Sounded like a great idea—and eventually it was—but getting there took a little patience. For context, I’m an electrician. I grew up with wires. If it doesn’t have wires, it’s usually just a radio pretending to be helpful. So wireless gadgets and I sometimes have a “discussion” before we reach an agreement. Setup is simple on the surface: plug it into an outlet and you’re ready… or so it seems. The real trick is getting it to recognize your doorbell system. There’s no universal wireless “doorbell code.” Every manufacturer uses their own signals, which makes sense when you think about it. Imagine an apartment building where every doorbell used the same code—press one and the whole building rings. I had to spend some time fiddling with it to get it working with my Reolink PoE doorbell. Once I sorted that out, it worked just fine. The unit itself is loud, which is exactly what I wanted. The visual indicator is actually a nice bonus, especially for those moments when the stereo might be turned up to 10. We’ve all done it. Bottom line: don’t expect a perfect plug-and-play experience unless you’re very lucky. But once you get it configured, it does the job well. If I need another chime in a different room later on, I’d probably grab another one.

This product wouldn’t connect even when a skilled worker attempted several times to no avail. We will have to return and replace with a different type which is easier to connect to blink.

I wanted to like this but it didn't work for our ring doorbell. I wanted a solid, budget-friendly way to add an indoor chime to a my smart doorbell system without running wires. If you have 2.4, it's useful for larger homes or if you just don’t want to rely solely on phone notifications. Not perfect, but convenient and functional for the price.

This doorbell chime makes clever use of the Amazon Alexa programming to receive doorbell events from several different types of doorbells and have it chime,. For this to work, you must connect your doorbell to your Alexa account, and then follow the step by step instructions to add a new activity to Alexa to have it cause the chime to sound whenever your doorbell is pressed. There is some setup involved, but as I said, the instructions were step by step and easy to follow. If you are already using Alexa in your Home Automation setup, this will be a great addition to your setup. The chime plugs directly into a wall outlet and connects to your 2.4GHz home WiFi

I have a Blink doorbell and needed this to be able to hear the ring. It has a good ring but the delay in its chime is frustrating. Between the door bell notification delay of 10 sec. and the chime delay, I find it less than what I expected. I thought that the notifications would be instant when activity was viewed by the camera.
