I hit on this unlikely brand when I needed a smart double outlet - it was like the only one I found, zwave or wifi (most/all single outlet). The outlet is state of the art, electrically and electronically, and works great across platforms (more below), but it has a couple design/ installation issues that I knocked one star off for. However, if I had it to do again, I would definitely choose this receptacle! First the design/ install Cons - - the outlet is very deep (and very cubic) so, in my case, I ended up having to install a new 2" deep box (minimum depth.) It has a lot of smarts packed in there, and it takes space! - the TamperResistant outlet slots are The Most Annoying I have ever had to plug into, even after repeated in/outs. The good news is, if you're using a polarized plug, they will slide right in. If you're using a grounded cord, which do not have polarized plugs, you will struggle... This could be a little less finicky (and a little less safe-from-ourselves lol) The Pros are way better! - high quality construction of the receptacle - and face plate! -very clear, printed color instruction booklet in perfect English - uses the new wire connections that are easy, safe and cannot come loose. - Installs under SmartLife (and I'm sure Tuya), in addition to their own app, if you use that already. - takes a smidge less than one second to add into SL - instant! Just confirm wifi password and name it! -I use SmartThings as a hub, and SmartLife is a Linked Service to ST, and this receptacle pulled over into ST by the time I had that app open! - this means, zwave or wifi, all these linked devices are seamlessly interoperable for automations and scenes! - cool blue glow wifi button right on the front middle of the switch lets you turn it on/ off manually super easy. - under SL (and I'm sure Tuya and their own app) there's one button on top to control both outlets, and in the device you can control either outlet independently. You can also create automations for both or either outlet. (It installs as like 3 separate outlets, not confusing. ) For just what I needed, very well designed electronically - smart! - 5+ stars!! For some annoying physical inconvenience, 4- stars. If you're forewarned about that at least you won't be badly surprised.

The product is as promised and works well. Had a few challenges during installation. The outlet fits very snugly in a standard wall outlet box. Adding the thickness of the ground wire to the overall length off the unit made the unit too big for the box. Not a super clean installation due its slightly oversize. Be sure the wall opening has enough clearance so not to interfere with the box opening size. I attached the ground wire to the mounting strip to avoid interfere with the mounting box. I installed the unit on my porch about 45 feet from my router, Although I installed a repeater about 15 feet of the unit the signal was not strong enough to set up the unit using the Smart Life App. Wired the unit temporary on an extension cord and went through the setup procedure about 4 feet from my router. Linked very quickly. Then permanently installed the unit on the porch and in a few minutes the unit was linked and fully functional. Also if installed outside ,an appropriate cover needs to be installed. This unit uses an outdoor cover generally designed for GFI (large square opening.) Both outlets a individually controlled. The app recognizes that and both units open up as one but then allows individual control in the app.

Unless you have large outlet boxes to put these in and nothing bigger than 14 gauge wire you might be ok. I had to put box extenders on every one of the 4 I installed. These are so big and deep they will not go in a standard outlet box. They leave no room in a box for even one wire nut at the rear of the box. Let alone 3 if the box is also a junction to another outlet. I was putting these in standard remodel boxes which had #12 wire. I had to modify the box (grind it down with a dremel) to get room to let the ground screw go past the edge of the box. Also the screw terminals for connection are junk. Don't even think about getting a #12 solid wire in them. I will never purchase any lumary products again.

These work great, and make it convenient to turn on specific appliances remotely, or on a timer through the app. However, they were a pain to connect to the Lumary app. Not sure why, but it took many, many, tries over the course of 15 minutes for each receptacle to get them to pair. Lumary lights paired fast, same with dimmer switches. These receptacles really didn't want to pair. Also, any time either of the plugs are on (you can turn them on/off separately, which is a plus), there is a VERY bright blue LED light that cannot be turned off. I had to put duct tape over it for use in a bedroom. I live in an older house (~1950) and this would not fit in the small metal outlet box. I had to cut it out and replace with a modern re-model box. Check your boxes first if you aren't able to replace the box yourself.
