I use them to position microphones, cameras, lights and accessories easily in almost any configuration, and they operate smoothly and lock well. These come in many sizes and configurations …be sure to not to overload them with weight or leverage they’re not built to take. If you do, they can sag. But that’s no fault of the product, it’s just physics. Great tool if you need one. Great quality, won’t break, won’t wear out.

I bought this for more articulation of my small lighting rig and it works great! One of the standout features of the SmallRig Universal Magic Arm is its flexibility. The arm is made up of two articulated joints that can be locked in place with sturdy, ergonomic knobs. I'm using these miniature arms to fine-tune the positioning of my webcam and other other desktop gear like small lights. For anything not too heavy, they seem to work perfectly. My only complaint is how tiny the tightening knobs are (not the one that locks the arm in place, but the ones on each end that help secure objects to the 1/4"-20 thread). They're so small and thin that I can't tighten them with my fingers; I have to slip some needlenose pliers in there to finish the tightening between the arm and the attached object.

i just received this yesterday and tested it out today. i was only out for about an hour, but i use one of these arms to attach my monitor to my camera cage. at first i thought that some of the reviews were right and that it wouldn't hold up my hefty 7" monitor (Viltrox DC-70HD), but after tightening some more it holds up really well. the trick is to tighten the screw that connects to your cage while the arm is in a locked position (so it won't rotate around the ball joints). this will enable you to securely screw in the arm. im not sure how long these will last, but so far they're nice and small and convenient for a more compact setup like mine.

Small to help remain versatile, but as a result they are very weak and can only work with small/light items.

These are super useful. I have similar small articulated elbows with a single joint, but I found those to be frustratingly limited at times. This double-jointed arm is perfect. Holds well. Super compact. Great quality.

This product it good. I have it attached to the handle of my gimbal and fly a feel world monitor and a Sony nfp 970 . It comes loose sometimes but that may be due to the weight. Very light a d compact. Would reccomend.
