The cages allow for easy attachment of devices. Lights, field monitors and mikes. Protection for the camera. With the added handles (nato or grip) it makes the handling of the camera more secure and easier to get steady shots. Quality is high and there are dozens of accessories like cold shoes, rod adapters and plates. These are high quality and very reasonably priced.

I ran into the same issue with the body being loose in the cage as another reviewer. How does one mount the body so it won't shift? I moved the camera body forward until it snugly fit the front of the cage. Tightened the single screw (the real problem) as tight as one could reasonably do and 2 weeks later, it's shifting in the cage. What's the magic way to mount the camera body? Otherwise, I like the cage, has mounting spots galore and doesn't interfere with any of the fiddly doors on the A73.

This frame is great to feel your a7iii is safe and secure without worry of accidental scratches or drops. it feels sturdy when put on right. I havent had the wobbly issue others have had. Obviously you still got to take care of your camera, but this frame gives you a little piece of mind when lugging it around everywhere. Bonus points cause it makes the a7iii look cooler
