You can easily use it to attach microphones to podiums, action cameras at creative angles, and lights in hard to reach places. The 1/4" post is compatible with most a/v accessories on the market, furthering its versatility. The double ball head adjusts easily to a wide range of possible angles and has a secure hold once positioned. The clamp itself has a rubber layer inside its jaws to grasp even the smoothest of surfaces securely. Smallrig was relatively unheard of just a few years ago, but they have since skyrocketed into the realm of trusted brand names for this type of equipment. THEY RUST I like the convenience of SmallRig Clamps, and these are very versatile. I gave them an excellent rating in spite of the fact that they rust and discolor in a very short amount of time. I don't think there are better clamps at this price point available anywhere. If they would just upgrade the components to stainless or corrosion-resistant parts, these would be absolutely outstanding. I count on equipment to function in all weather conditions, and these don't last. Eventually rusting to the point that you can't adjust them anymore. The black finish also turns bronze in color as it washes away. I'm back to order more. I highly suggest that buyers who want to use them outside, invest in a good rust inhibitor that doesn't reduce the ability of the articulated arms to be held in place once tightened. To the manufacturer, please produce rust-resistant clamps in the future. I do recommend them so long as you know that they must be kept dry and protected. ... show more

I have purchased this clamp because it will serve my needs quite nicely. However after setting it up and trying to use it I noticed that there is no lacking nut or adjustment on the ball and screw assembly that attaches to the clamp. As you see I have attached two pictures one with the mount vertical and the second the mount after the table was jostled by one of my family's children it fell in no uncertain terms. What I am looking for is a replacement Chrome plated ball and screw that is slightly longer that I can put a locking nut on to hold it in place against vibrations or table movement. Please advise as to where I can find, purchase, acquire a replacement ball and screw with a lacking nut just like on the top of the mount assembly. Respectfully boo-pow ... show more

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: Looks like I had just received a DOA/warranty clamp. A rep reached out and fast tracked me a replacement/upgrade for the trouble. Solid stuff, no issues, exactly what I was expecting when I made the initial order (high expectations based on friends love for the product). The customer service rep was excellent at resolving my issue, fast no hassle shipping with tracking for replacement. 5 for customer service and 5 for product. I will be buying more from SmallRig soon. Recieved product was flimsy, threads for mounting jaws didn't work perfect and were super loose but didn't think too much of it at first. Now months down the line I can barely get this thing to stay stuck on what I'm trying to mount my phone to. I have to use a handle extension I made for extra torque to get the jaws to "bite and lock"/stay in place. I wouldn't recommend this until better materials are used or tighter tolerances happen from the manufacturer. It's a cool product and do enjoy it. Just wish the quality had been better. ... show more
