This is a pretty nice lamp overall - it's a made of a fairly light wood (appears to be pine with a light/clear finish, but I'm hardly an expert) and a simple but attractive design. The lamp is SUPER easy to assemble - you take it out of the box and flip the lamp shade over, put in a bulb and that's it. To flip the shade over, you unscrew a single "nut", flip the shade and screw it back on (it's not really a nut, more like a collar, and you just use your hand to detach and re-attach it. It fits a standard E26 base bulb and you can use incandescent, LED or CFL bulbs up to 60W - I'm using an LED at 7W and it's plenty of light for my bedside table. The cord is decent length and there's a switch on the lamp side that is easy to use and seems to be of high quality. The shade is attractive and also seems to be of good quality (like the rest of the lamp). The only minor flaw is that on mine one of the legs seems to be a touch shorter than the others. I didn't even notice it until I put the lamp on my bedside table which is in front of a set of horizontal blinds and it's EVER so slightly not aligned with the blinds. So I used a tiny pad to level it. That's why I deducted a star. But that's likely just mine and it was easily fixed. So, on the whole, this is a nice, simple bedside lamp for a decent price and sometimes that's exactly what you need. So if that's what YOU need, then you should definitely give this one a try! ... show more

In real estate, when they use the word "cute", it usually means a nice way to say "small". This lamp is real cute. That's not a drawback; just a fact. For me, it will work perfectly since the area I am using it in demands a small lamp. Other reviewers have noted the fact that the lamp shade is 1" too short on the bottom side to cover a black plastic fitting. I agree. Back to the drawing board on that one. Then there is the personal pet peeve: they affix a manufacturers sticker right to the middle of one of the legs. That is never a problem...until...the label peels off and the glue remains. Safe to say this lamp got the "alcohol + soft cloth + elbow grease = glue removal" process. The only other concern is more of an unknown. Many off-shore (not in the USA) manufacturers of electrical devices do NOT conform to U.L. or ETL. I cannot find any evidence that this lamp conforms to UL or ETL. ... show more

I like how this lamp looks. I got it because I felt it'd fit into the color scheme of my room. The lamp seems to be made of good quality materials, and works with the first light bulb I tested it with. The only real complaint I have with this lamp is that you can clearly see the black screw-in part for the lightbulb when the lamp is eye level to you. This can be seen in my second picture and some of the pictures of other reviewers. None of the original post's images show this part of the lamp. This is a non-problem if you plan on primarily having the lamp below eye-level, as seen in my first picture. Could be better: The cable is black, and I feel that a white cable might've fit better into the design and color scheme of the lamp. It would also be nice if the black light bulb holder wasn't so visible when the lamp is level to the eye. ... show more

This is about as simple as it gets. Three pieces of wood form the tripod base, a lamp socket, small shade and an inline switch on the power cable. The white and beige shade complements the wood base. No bulb is included. Overall a simple, practical lamp for a kids or dorm room.

I really like the shade on this lamp. It's got a lot more character than a plain white shade and it gives a nice warm glow. I don't usually like in line switches, but this one is close enough to the lamp to actually be alright. You don't have to crawl behind the furniture just to turn the lamp off, but it's not obtrusive either. ... show more

Don’t expect this lamp to light up your room or even read by it. It’s dim and more so it’s not pitch black in your room. I don’t have the best eyes in the dark so I may be a bit hard on the fact that it’s dim but it is very stylish and it works just fine.
