I was a bit hesitant to try this because of the mixed reviews about material and fit, but I really needed a solution besides the cone and the inflatable collars are not enough to keep him from an incision. My dog is long haired and I couldn't see any examples of this on a long haired dog in pics either! FIT: It fits fabulously! I can see why, considering the varied shapes of dogs, some breeds wouldn't have this experience, but quite frankly, it would be impossible to make a one size fits all. for my dog the measurements left him with a snug but not too tight suit. I included pics of how it lays on a long hair sheltie ( 45 lbs, XL size). He looks dopey but it is a good fit. Material: It is that stretchy easy to breath jersey/cotton blend materials that they make a lot of sheets out of now. Happy with the stretch, cool feel and it will be easily washable. Reception: You can see his face. He frigging hated it. (At first) He quickly got used to it and is walking around much more naturally than he does with a cone on. We still use the cone overnights or if he is being left unobserved as an extra layer of protection. Design: We didn't cut the penis hole out because his wound is right under there. However, this is EASY to get on and off a dog that is socialized to being groomed/handled. When we take him out, we just remove the back legs and use the Velcro to roll it up like a T-shirt. Then we can put the bottom part back on properly when he is done. This is far less hassle than I had imagined it might be. I ordered a second one so we have one to wear while we wash one as recovery will be 2 weeks. ... show more

We purchased three of these after our new rescue had surgery to remove a very large lipoma and the subsequent development of a seroma and drainage. The suit did a fantastic job of protecting the surgery site from her paws and biting. Not needing a cone was a HUGE plus. The suits are easy to put on and our girl was able to go to the bathroom without removing or adjusting the suit. Make sure that you get them large enough. As first time owners of a puppy that needed to be spayed, I spent a couple of hours reviewing the “right” suit. I actually purchased a few prior to the spay that cost significantly more just to compare and choose one with the best functionality. I wanted something that fit well, yet loose enough to allow the surgical site to “breathe” and also allow our dog to move around and sleep comfortably. I also wanted something easy to put on/take off without disturbing the surgery site. This is perfect - the material is light, yet durable. The Velcro positioning is PERFECT for easy on and off. Easy to adjust. The neck area fit just right and was not too tight (we have a pit mix and she has a wide neck). The price point is great. The area for potty is wide and did not present any issues. I absolutely love the way it keeps her from getting to her incision. But this was not the same size as the one we ordered before, it’s tighter and smaller. I kept it because I needed to wash the other suit. Overall love them but size difference even when ordering same size had to give only three stars. Tie dye one is smaller and tight. Worked well enough after our dog was spayed. The thin t-shirt material made it not too hot for her. But it started to get a little hole pretty quickly. Not sure how. But, it lasted long enough to do the job.

We purchased a few different suits for our girl for after she got spayed. This one by far was very functional. Easy to put on. For sizing she is an Australian shepherd and the XL fit her perfectly. We didn’t have to worry about anything when she did her business. It hid the suture area well and her incisions healed nicely with no complications. She actually seemed to like it. I would say quality could be slightly better as the fabric was thin and did rip once. This is perfect for a spay recovery. My female wore it comfortably. It wasn't tight across the belly so air flow was perfect for recovery of sutures. The best thing was, no need to take it off for relieving themselves both #1 & #2. Some others we tried looked like they were okay to leave on but would need to take off every time. This washed well. Comfort and appearance were nice but my pup had an IV and I had a hard time bending his paws into it and it wasn’t real easy to get on and off and he ended up peeing in it when I was trying to take it off him.
