I got this to do some night sky gazing. It's not really powerful enough to look at anything other than the moon, though. The moon was awesome to see in detail once both ocular pieces were dialed in. It's heavy, but not excessive. The straps are a little dubious but have held up fine on walks so far. The rubber lens protectors and case are a nice touch. It's easy to adjust the focus on the fly. Love the build quality on these binoculars, use them mostly for stargazing at night. Crystal clear image even in minimal light, was able to spot the andromeda galaxy and if you are somewhere with dark skies and can hold them steady enough you could even make the faint lights around Jupiter which are its gallilean moons. Nice binoculars. When I got mine they had double vision. But I had a pair of binoculars before that had double vision. So I had to line them myself. If you know how it's easy. Or you can watch YouTube videos to tell you how. Other than that. Lightweight. Easy on your arms when looking at the night sky. Looking at m45 it looked like diamonds. These are very good binoculars for the price. I will not spend money on expensive binocular. Wish I bought a pair expensive binoculars in the past. From a respectable company. That had double vision.     • Good low-cost binoculars.
To be honest, I bought these on a laugh because of the name. But I have been impressed how good they are for a basic binocular. It's handy to have in the car as the lens covers are tethered and it came with a padded case and lens cloth. The kids love finding any excuse to break out the SkyGenius!

I purchased these for target shooting. It has the place to put an adapter (purchased separately) for mount on tripod. I also have a great pair of Nikon glasses that are exceptional - with an exceptional high price. These are very good (clear) glasses for an exceptional low price.     • Best binocs I own
Ill just start with this, not all binoculars are created equal, and with the strange name and low price, I was skeptical, but now that I've seen from em, they're really good, they rank up there in the top 2 pairs of binoculars I've ever looked through, that other pair was also 6x the price of these, I mostly quit using binoculars years ago because they always gave me double vision, these don't, just like the other pair I was talking about, they're extremely clear, the zoom level isn't too much/not enough, they have a bit of a fisheye effect around the edge, but not bad or bothersome and most others do as well, the picture color is good as well as light transfer, they're not as heavy as some the same size but I'd say weight is about what I expected. Build quality seems pretty rugged, especially compared to the 3 or 4 pairs of other cheapo brands that got broke from normal use, a feature I really like about these is the front lens caps, they're held onto the binocs with a rubber strap molded into the cover, the rear ones also have a loop so you could attach them. Overall I am so far highly satisfied with these, especially since I was seriously considering buying a different pair that was way more than I was comfortable spending just because they didn't give me double vision. The texture is nice, it comes with a cleaning microfiber, the carry bag isn't too bad, it's more of a nylon or polyester woven cloth material, I'm just used to my old best pair with a heavy vinyl case, but this case should hold up just fine, especially since there's a strip of nylon webbing sewed over both sides where the strap attaches,it's definitely a very good value for the money and if you're looking for a really good pair of binoculars for a reasonable price, I'd definitely look into these ones. ... show more

    • Good value but misleading description
Optical quality is quite good for its price and for a casual user. Image is bright and clear at the center. Chromatic aberration is noticeable towards the sides but it's not too annoying. Build quality is okay but the eyepieces are flimsy. If you bump or drop it will likely break off. What annoys me is the misleading description. It says it's FMC over and over when clearly it is not. The ocular lens looks completely devoid of any anti-reflective coating. I can see my eye reflection and it is quite distracting. The objective lens does have a greenish reflection which indicates it has AR coating but at the same time I can also see another layer of reflection (without the green or purple tint) coming off of it. I believe not all surfaces are AR coated. The eye relief seems quite short. I can't avoid getting some vignetting when I wear glasses. It also says that the eyecup can be twisted but in reality it is a fold-down type. The "twist" they are referring to is the right diopter adjustment, not for the eye relief. I would have given this 5 stars if not for the false and misleading description. ... show more
