  • Solid head shaver with a few quirks
Size: Pro (2024)
Started using this July 31st, just now put it on for its first full charge on September 4th after using it every other day. The good: Powerful motor and blades Easy to clean - especially compared to Freebird brand which I was using previously Comfortable design - works well wet or dry but ideally it works best with some shave cream. The less good: The charge port cover isn't attached in any way once you remove it to charge so the possibility of losing it is high, keep an eye on it It cuts close, but not as close as a regular razor. It works better on an every-other-day or every-three-days basis for me, but your mileage may vary depending on your hair type (mine is pretty fine texture). Overall, a great razor with minor issues, the charge port cover is my biggest concern. The display of charge is great too - even though this was the first charge of it, I still had 12% battery left, just didn't want to risk a half-shave before it died. ... show more

  • Don't use on your neck
Size: Pro (2024)
I gave this 5 stars for what it is, a head shaver. It works great on my head, ok on my face but horrible on my neck. I have used my Pitbull 3 times now so I have enough information for an accurate review. The Pitbull gets my head as clean as you can get without using a blade. I can still feel stubble but it is way closer than my Remington Shortcut clipper with no attachment. I have a few moles that were a problem with the Shortcut clipper as the blades would snag the mole and it would bleed sometimes. The Pitbull goes over all the moles and leaves no nicks or irritation at all. I can not get 3 or 4 hairs above each ear and have to use a razor to get them off. I tried it on my face and it makes for a pretty smooth shave. It is not possible to get close enough to my goatee so I still have to use a razor to get the stray hairs. Then there's the neck. Don't do it! Unless you have blond peach fuzz. My neck looks like somebody choked me. It was bleeding in a dozen places. Same thing on the back of my neck below the hairline. I even ordered some Jack Black Beard Lube and this stuff is super slick. Didn't help, probably made the irritation even worse due to the blades getting even closer to my skin. I will go back to using a twin blade for my face and neck. Never again will I use this anywhere near my neck. Thank goodness I had some coconut oil to put on the razor burn because it was burning bad. The Pitbull arrived 100% charged and after 3 uses it is still right above 50%. It is easy to clean. I was trying to separate the blade head after removing it from the shaver. I couldn't get any leverage on the chrome surface to crack it open. After watching a video, they separated the head with the head still attached to the shaver. Hopefully doing that a million times doesn't break the small attachment under the head. You can also submerge the head in water while it's running to clean it. If I didn't have moles on my head I would just use a blade. The other thing that is a pain is that you have to shave your head every 2 to 3 days because it won't shave off longer growth. ... show more

  • Excellent Head Shaver
Size: Pro (2024)
I love this device. Very fast, effective head shaver. Leaves no mess and very easy to clean up after. I've bought 3 or 4 of these at this point for myself and relatives.

  • Not great, but probably the best option you have
Size: Pro (2024)
I've been using this line of shavers for about 2 years now. The battery just died on the first one, and I just ordered a replacement so I figured I'd leave a review. First of all - battery issues? Yes. The first two weeks I used my shaver, I thought all the reviews about the poor battery life were either unlucky or outside the norm. Then one day about two weeks in, I started shaving with the battery at 50% and it abruptly died mid-shave. After that I noticed the battery would decrease normally (about 3-5% for each five minute shave), but once it hit around 50 or 60%, the battery would drop 1% every second until it hit zero. I thought this was fine - I have to charge the shaver every week, so what? The problem is, this "battery drop off" point kept creeping higher and higher over the past year and a half until recently, when the battery died as I started shaving at 92%. I had been recharging the shaver after every two shaves already, so I figured this was time to get a new shaver. If the new one follows the same pattern, I'll be reasonably satisfied if the battery gets me through two years. After reading about battery charging and battery life, the plan is to use the shaver until 60%ish battery, then charge up to 90%ish each time - might help, might not. So why buy the same shaver if the first one had such an unreliable battery? I haven't used any other electric head shavers out there, but I had been shaving my head with a safety razor for a few years before I tried the Pitbull. I can't say anything about the other shavers, but my skin is pretty sensitive, so I am hesitant to try new shavers - and the Pitbull is pretty good in this regard. The four bladed (I think it's called the Forte) attachment that comes with the shaver doesn't irritate my skin, and is fairly reliable (I only broke the first one by dropping it multiple times - my bad). I'd say that shaving against the grain with the shaver gets my hair very close to what a safety razor would get (also going against the grain). Obviously it's not quite AS short, but the difference is maybe 6 hours or so of hair growth for me. It's definitely closer than shaving with the grain with a safety razor, and shaving against the grain with a razor can cause irritation for me anyways. So the quality of the shave is fairly good, I only have to shave every 2 days to maintain a clean look. But the best advantage of the Pitbull is TIME. It only takes 5-7min to shave your head, rather than the 20min it would take me with a safety razor. I'd recommend using conditioner on your head when using this shaver, using shave soap and a brush will actually get the blades of the Pitbull coated with soap that doesn't easily come off, and the bristles of the brush will occasionally come off and get sucked into the shaver - which messes with the blades and is annoying to clean. Conditioner is easy to wash off, all you have to do is rinse with hot water, and the shave is smooooooth. TLDR: Buy to save time. Shaves pretty close to safety razor, if not 'baby bottom smooth'. Do a favor and use conditioner instead of all the other shaving products. Yeah, battery kind of sucks. ... show more
