It works, but not too impressed with the trimmer. The head has 2 internal string rolls (upper and lower), and it is difficult to deal with, vs a trimmer with 1 string roll inside. Will try to use it some more but kinda regretting buying this trimmer. I bought it because I wanted my other cordless SKIL tools to all use the same battery. Also, this trimmer is heavier than my prior one. The Blower works very well. Will update as time goes on ... ... show more

I have used these tools for an entire summer season without issue. For a reasonable cost, Battery recharges quickly, blower is reasonably powered, and trimmer is handy around the home. Not my first choice as an edger, but it does the job for everything else.

Simply put, if you keep up on your yard and use the weed eater every week or two. The weed eater should have more then enough power to get the job done. On low it is great for trimming up the fence line. Enough power to cut the grass, but not so much you are constantly breaking string. On high u can cut through much taller grass and weeds. It doesn't have the power to cut through completely over grown yards. U will still need gas for that. But normal yards its more then powerful enough. Its fairly light weight, My mom has no problem using it which says alot. The 4 ah battery that came with its has been enough power for me to weed eat and leaf blow the driveway and sidewalk most the time. I have extra batteries so wasn't a issue for me. Leaf blow is good. I have no problem cleaning the grass clippings off the sidewalk and blowing some leaves around. Seems to put out more then enough air flow. Actually started lifting up grass and dirt growing over my neighbors sidewalk which surprised me. It is great for smaller projects like cleaning leaves off the driveway or deck. You will need extra batteries if you are trying to do a larger yard. I really liked how the speed control is a dial you can just roll with ur thumb straight up n down. If you own other powercore 20 tools this becomes a better value since you will already have extra batteries. ... show more

    • SKIL...not just a rebrand, a step up from Milwaukee
Style: 20V String Trimmer/Blower Kit
I was skeptical of purchasing this. All my tools are Milwaukee (yes I made that mistake), and that's where they get you...they get you to buy the tools and you are a slave to batteries which cost more than the tools! Well, with this purchase I broke free...yes I now have two brands of batteries, and two brands of chargers. But the math just made sense...In order for me to buy the Milwaukee blower, it not only cost more, But didn't come with a battery or extra charger (the Milwaukee shop blower). So I bought this, and guess what...I have used it 10 times and still have not recharged the battery (each time I used it was maybe 5 minutes of max blowing). Its a beast...and since we are in the dead of winter I haven't even used the weed eater, but excited to try it when we actually have grass. I repent of my monolithic battery thinking Milwaukee ways...and receive the grace of SKIL's redemption, a second chance at life....battery life that lasts, but without the insane cost. I have 10 Milwaukee tools, and 3 Milwaukee batteries, and now SKIL is a part of the family, I think I will expand upon my SKIL family for the following purchases. Also, I would attach pictures, but I am to lazy ( I know that helps a lot when customers attach pictures, but my internet sucks right now, and I took all this time to leave you a review, so I think this should good enough to share my thoughts) - Carter ... show more
