I used a pair of these 10’s for a install in a 3rd generation Tacoma (2021 TRD sport) behind the rear seat. The box was a pretty tight fit and had 5.5 inches of depth available for the baskets. The also do extremely well in a small sealed enclosure. I added about 10-12oz of poly fill (so much poly fill.. like a pillow sized clump) to improve the Q of the enclosure. Since these are dual 4 ohm voice coil subs I was able to put a 1OhM load to the amplifier maximizing bang for the buck w/ the amp. Since they have dual VCs they can handle quiet a bit of power compared to the very popular pioneers. I am lowering with a soundstrem 4500.d which is probably 2000ish watts at 1OhM so gains are turned down. It hits about 110-112 decibels playing bass heavy music. Overall I was able to do the subs, box,LOC, 80hz filters for stock speakers, amp and wiring for ~about 500 dollars. A very good value for the sound quality and sound pressure. These are perfect for a car system that wants good bass but doesn't quite want to be "competition." It will rattle your car and has plenty power to satisfy most people when paired with an equally specced amp. It had been very good quality so far and after breaking them in for a little bit, they can handle higher db without popping/cutting out. I'd say these are worth the money for sure at least for a basshead like me that doesn't want to go through putting in a second battery and complicated multi box setups. ... show more

Speaker depth seems to be what could be considered a shallow mount but the frame is large. I had to use a rotary tool and sand the opening to my box (Attrend box for a Ram 1500) until the sub could fit properly. Has good bass especially for the price and considering I'm only running one 10" under the rear seats. Paired it with a Power Akoustik RZR 2500 sending 500 watts to the sub. Amazon has the same amp as the 2300. My bass was already decent since I'm running 4 Pioneer 6x9s in the doors but this brought out deeper tones and more of the bass that you can feel. ... show more

VD10 is what i got and after 2 months i swear it just keeps banging harder. did the 20 hour break in and seems to be helping or this is just a solid sub. im putting 700 watts to it and its not distorting at all bery happy for the price. leaves me wanting 12s though

It's a very good speaker. I stuck it into the stock enclosure of my ford explorer, I drilled with a hole saw and cut with a hot knife to enlarge the opening and then packed some sound insulating materials in there, and used some giant structural screws to fasten it down tight. Then I put the enclosure in the space for it in the back, ran the wires, and put more structural screws through the vehicle and enclosure. I packed more sound insulation into any hollow space within a few feet of the speaker, and then injected it with a high density expanding polyurethane foam. I welded a shield for it since my tools are always smacking around back there and the stock cover didnt fit since the speaker was larger than the stock one. I slammed some more structural screws in the shield, and then went around the rest of the car and tidied up any rattling plastic crap by either ripping it off or sending a screw through it. Sounds like a top quality sound system. I can play music at the highest volume setting and it sounds so clean and crisp and absolutley booming. It might not be the prettiest installation(its literally a work truck), but that wasn't the goal. The performance is first and foremost and I think i nailed that. ... show more

Put 2 of these with a skar 1200w mono in a Qpower box for my 2005 f250, sound great. Not JL audio quality but they are punchy, get pretty low especially for a pre built box and beginner/mid range skar amp. Overall gave me the bass I wanted in my truck, not overwhelming rattling windows but definitely feel it. Have purchased higher model skars previously they will give you much much deeper and louder bass. But it you just want something decent not overwhelming you found the right sub ... show more
