Description

Skar Audio engineered the SDR-1X12D2 single 12-inch loaded Vented subwoofer enclosure as a simplified option to add a competition-grade subwoofer system, without the guesswork involved in designing it from scratch. This loaded enclosure features one of our extremely popular SDR-12 D2 1, 200 Watt Max power subwoofers, which arrives pre-loaded and wired up inside of a custom single 12" Ported enclosure. The enclosure features a unique kerf port design, allowing for extreme levels of bass output. Furthermore, the enclosure is finished in premium grade black carpet for a sleek appearance and features the Scar Audio logo in white on the top surface of the box. This enclosure was engineered by Skar Audio specifically for the subwoofer that is loaded in it, ensuring perfect sound and compatibility. Every subwoofer is different, and it is so critical when buying a subwoofer to ensure that the subwoofer and enclosure are an ideal match, or you will lose sound quality and output. With this loaded Subwoofer Enclosure model, All of those concerns are eliminated, making it easier than ever to add powerful aftermarket bass to your vehicle. The subwoofer comes pre-wired and loaded inside of the enclosure allowing for an easy and hassle free installation. The dual 2-ohm subwoofer is wired up inside of the enclosure so that the final Impedance Load is configured for 1-ohm at the terminals. Peak power: 1, 200 watts, RMS power: 600 Watts. Absolutely love my setup. I have a 2008 Audi TT, where a dual wouldn’t fit. I have this single right on top of the drivers side folded back seat and it fits absolutely perfectly. It is larger than I thought, but ended up working out. Best sub I coulda got. I was planning on doing something small as in my case the subwoofer will be in the main cabin since my car isn’t that big, and doesn’t have a seperate isolated trunk. 12in single is WAY more than I needed and will rattle everything in your car. Couldn’t be happier. I originally was planning on going with seperate brands for the amp and wiring kit, but the price difference was $100, and just saved money with the kit. I’ve had this with a Boss headuit. Nothing special sub $200 unit. And it sounds AMAZING. 3 weeks in and I just got through the break in period, and let me tell you the difference from day 1 to now is crazy! Overall it was easy to install. Funny enough the hardest part was ground for the amp. Ended up stripping paint off of the spare tire donut in the trunk, and using that instead. Heads up with grounding the amp or wiring kit doesn’t come with a screw for ground, so it’s a BYOS situation. A few tips for this sub setup would be to make sure nothing is folded, crimped, or kinked as it can absolutely mess up your audio big time. Run your wiring from the radio back to the sub instead of opposite. MOUNT THE AMP, either on the back of a seat like I did, or mounted to the trunk floor. For at least 2 weeks don’t put the sub higher than halfway on the knob. The sub needs to break in, if you don’t than you can blow your sub like others who have bought this before. Tune you subs as well, search up a tutorial on YouTube pretty easy to do and will also prevent you blowing the sub as well. Mounting the sub to the floor is also a great idea, but it’s pretty heavy to the point were it’s not really needed. I very recommend going with this sub and kit, for only around $350 is crazy with how good it performs. Definitely buying more from Skar in the future. ... show more

Size: Single 8" D2 Loaded Enclosure with Amplifier
Added to 2020 Lexus IS350 and opted for not using the bass controll. Routing the wires was a B, but sounds great. Enough power to add low end from the trunk to thefront of the cabin. This won't rattle the trunk too badly on a small luxury nor disturb your neighbors - but will add adequate low end for listening pleasure. Putting this in something with an open trunk like a hatchback or a Jeep will require the bass knob as it's will THUMP. ... show more

Sound quality is incredible. The clarity of the bass is more than you would expect at this price. All the wiring was long was enough, all items needed for the install was there. The amp had a corded remote control came with it too. The thing sounds great, functions just as it should. Does pull on the cars battery, but we knew it would. ... show more

Honestly, the product is incredible, I RECOMMEND IT. The most important thing is to take the time to look at the technical details for proper installation, because if you don't adjust everything correctly, you will obviously damage the equipment. Important, this Enclosure Configuration is configured to handle Tuning Frequency of Enclosure 34 Hz which means that although the Subwoofer can handle lower frequencies this Enclosure configuration does not allow it. Additionally, the ideal is to adjust this frequency and then the gain of the amplifier since the final impedance at 1 Ohm the maximum that should receive is 24.49V to not exceed the barrier of 600 RMS and break the subwoofer, in addition to this highly recommended a capacitor to stabilize the voltage since when the amplifier is at 1 ohm the voltage must be stable at 14V to be able to deliver this performance without abnormal overheating, additionally, this amplifier is very good but not designed for mounting in the same Enclosure of the Subwoofer which the excessive vibration will cause damage, and Please a very good ground is required and of course cable 4 at least., beyond these important details, the product is very well protected in the delivery process, the quality is all very good, and an installation kit with amplifier, and enclosure and subwoofer this product is VERY GOOD FOR ITS VALUE, highly recommended., Note: I have a Subaru Outback which for my vehicle, the acoustics with a Vented Enclosure is very good, but for vehicles with small or tight trunks it would be advisable to have a sealed Enclosure with its correct measurements according to the manufacturer's data, in short THE ENTIRE PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD, it is just a matter of seeing the details for its correct installation since damaging it is easy., and as a final point after all this, the sound is Quite sufficient, quite deep and very loud, this goes beyond a small update for its price, what you get is very good.
