Description

The Skar Audio SDR-12 D4 12" Dual 4-ohm subwoofer was engineered to dish out reliable, hard hitting, and low spectrum sound. Featuring a high flux ferrite motor, This woofer will provide extreme power handling for extended periods of time. The SDR series will quickly become a customer favorite, as it's perfect for people just entering the world of car audio all the way up to seasoned pros. The SDR-12 Dual 4-ohm 12-inch car subwoofer features a 2.5” high temperature 4-layer high temperature copper voice coil that is attached to our Skar Audio signature red spider. The surround on the SDR series is a high roll foam surround which allows the woofer to produce riveting low end bass response. The SDR series has a max power rating of 1, 200 watts and a RMS power rating of 600 watts. Sensitivity (SPL): 84.7 dB, mix: 13.5mm one-way, Fs: 32 Hz, frequency response: 22 Hz- 300 Hz, mounting depth: 7.62".

This is one solid well made woofer. Of course it has to be in right box, but it hits low and hard. I had a bandpass box custom built for my truck and the place installed the woofer in box and wired to the amp. He had a speaker wire for each coil, so to have a 2ohm load he had to put both positive together and both negatives together ( monoblock amp ) well he hooked only one speaker wire to the amp. So only one coil was playing with a 4ohm load so my amp was pushing 300watts instead of 600watts. Unbelievable how this thing was hitting. I would have never known better but I had a wild hair jump up my ass and purchased the Alpine R series 12in. So I only played the scar on one coil for about 4 weeks. I’m very surprised the coils were not damaged. I’m sure eventually I would have damaged them but the woofer is still clean and hitting hard. For this price you can’t beat the quality, I think it would be hard to even match power of this woofer. ... show more

These speakers are amazing! They are hefty speakers and can really pound. I have two of these hooked up to a Skar 1200W amp, and they are able to shake the mirror off of my corolla! I have been using them consistently over the past two years and haven't had a single issue with them burning out, breaking, tearing, cracking, or anything. I put basic rail covers over them to protect them from other objects and have them tuned so they aren't clipping, if you have any of those happening any damage is 100% on you. These are part of the reason I have tinnitus, but I will never regret it. You won't feel like you are balling on a budget with these! ... show more

nice very very nice. i have it hooked up to a sundown sae1500 around 800 watts at two ohm. I have it in a custom made box 1.75cu ft box tuned to 35 hz. This was supposed to be a next day prime it says its running late. An it keeps changing the date it says for refund pushing it out. It said if your product is not here by the 27th get a refund the next day now the next day after it was supposed to be here it got moved two days saying if your product is not here by the 29th get a next day refund it keeps pushing it out. Other then that I haven't received the package yet but did get the wiring kit later than one day expected a Skar audio 1/0 gauge CCA wiring kit. They Skar Audio RP1200.1D did come the same did it said that was the only proudct from SKAR AUDIO that arrived on time. I'm a big fan of Skar I would just prefer the correct date even if its a week out don't shorten the arrival date so I order I'm already looking at your products be honest so theres no disappointment when it doesn't arrive on time. ... show more

I purchased this because I had 2 twelves prior to this on that didn't work out. I just wanted something to replace sound that I was missing. I wasn't expecting what this 12in woofer puts out! Deep, deep bass from a 750-watt amp! I never actually heard of this brand name before, but I'll remember it forever. I probably need to replace the factory speakers because this amp drowns them out unless you're sitting inside the car. I'm totally impressed with this speaker. If I had 2 of them It'll probably be too much (for me). If/when I replace the factory speakers, I'll be looking into this brand, Definitely! ... show more
