  • Excellent sub speaker
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
Sound is tight, controlled and can be load compared to factory sub. Powered by a separate upgraded amp and able to handle power with no issues. Just installed so it should break in and get better. All for the budget price. Love it. Thank you Skar for the quality product.

  • Significant upgrade over Tacoma JBL stock sub. Need a 3/4" spacer and let them break in.
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
3 week update: 5 stars for the price. They've broken in and I put a proper fitting spacer behind them so they are fitted nice and tight with no gaps. The bass is coming out full and tight now. Stock amp is pushing them well enough. No clipping anymore at the volume I like. Now I gotta upgrade the front-door speakers. This is definitely a significant upgrade over the stock sub and I'm really enjoying my car audio again. I got one of those android head units that can push the system to it's max capabilities so I'm not sure if a stock head unit would sound as good, but I would guess it will be at least a modest upgrade with that as well. At the very least, this would be a cheap replacement on a blown sub. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I upgraded my 2012 Tacoma JBL stock system with a new head unit. I saw this cheap sub available at the same time and figured for the price why not? The first issue is this is actually a bit too deep for the stock JBL box and needs about a 3/4" spacer. Not a big deal, just know that before getting it. You will also need to drill in a different hole pattern into the JBL box, but with longer screws. I used some 2" drywall screws. Again, not a big deal especially if you know that going in. The new unit has way more control over bass and has a loud setting which really gives a much richer sound and pushes the bass and speakers a lot harder, but it's severely underpowered with the stock amp which only puts out 110w Max and 55 RMS. I have had to really play with the settings but can get a decent bass from it that doesn't clip very noticeably and at a good volume. I've come up with something I like, for now. If I can find an easy AMP solution I will add that next. It's possible that the factory head unit will not push it as hard and be a good upgrade from the stock sub. If you have a blown sub, this is a good cheap fix as well. For the price, it's worth it to upgrade the stock sub in a Toyota JBL system but don't expect a huge upgrade without more power. . ... show more

  • put in 2009 hyundai santa fe limited with the infinity sound system
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
my 2009 hyundai santa fe has an infinity sound system with built in amp and 8 inch subwoofer. the factory sub blew and i was looking for a replacement. this had the same specs at a good price and i couldnt find a direct replacement short of buying the entire enclosure from hyundai for $700. nope! unfortunatly, because of the shape of the metal enclosure on this compared to the stock sub, this didnt fit in perfectly. the metal enclosure on this is maybe a half inch to an inch wider and wont fit into the enclosure perfectly. if you take the side panel out completely, which requires removing the back seats, you could dremmel out a bit of the plastic enclosure and get a better fit. the screw holes line up, its just the metal cage thats different. i didnt do all that. i only loosened the side panel and didnt really want to remove the seats to take it all the way out. so i used some foam insulation around the edge and screwed the sub in as far as it would go. the only issue with that is it puts the sub right up against the side panel and then you cant get the factory cover back on. but honestly, i dont care about that. it sounds great, in my opinion even better than before the stock sub blew. i got a universal cover, ended up using a 10 inch cover to fit over the factory mount, to protect the speaker and im good with the way it looks. 5 stars because it works and sounds great and none of the issues i had with installing it were due to the sub, it was just the way hyundai built the factory enclosure. ... show more

  • Not powerful, but decent for the money
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
There is not a lot of power coming out of this unit, but for the money, it does okay.

  • Great sounding, shallow subwoofer for small car or truck cabin.
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
I am very impressed with scar subwoofers. I have this 8" and also a few 6.5". If you're looking for just a little boom to liven up your stock system, this is prefect. I run mine in small, sealed box with <1 Cubic foot and it works well. I run it at 150W (which is more than it needs) and it's loud enough for an full size access cab truck. Note: I got the 2 Ohm DVC and wish I got the 4 ohm. Why? Because you have better amplifier choices for 2 ohm vs 1 or 4 ohm. I run this sub at 1 ohm and had to make sure I got a class D amp that is 1 ohm rated. Not a big deal but worth noting. Also, don't worry about getting the higher wattage versions. You don't get that much more decibel's for the power. You are better off pairing this with a 8" passive radiator, which makes it very loud. ... show more

  • works with 2ohm vehicles
Size: 8" - Dual 2 Ohm
great sub.. worked well for my 2018 acura mdx install with stock enclosure and stock amp.. tough to find subs for my car if you do not want to upgrade the amp as my OEM setup is all 2 ohm impedance and most speakers i was coming across were 4ohms which reduces sound quality.. only thing i had to buy was an 8 inch mdf speaker ring which was super cheap. install took under an hour! including removing all plastic trim in the car ... show more
