Skar Audio's EVL-1X65D4-V-LP 6. 5-inch low-profile subwoofer system is designed for the audiophile seeking loud and responsive bass, but who is constrained by the space or depth in their vehicle. This loaded subwoofer enclosure features one of our wildly popular EVL-65 D4 200W RMS/400W max power subwoofers, which is pre-configured and internally wired to a 2-ohm final impedance load at the terminals. Don't let it's size fool you, this enclosed subwoofer packs a serious punch, with a conservative output rating of 400 watts max power. Engineered to get loud and low, this loaded enclosure features a unique slot port design that allows the subwoofer to reproduce bass with authority. With the system measuring only 5. 25" in depth, this enclosure fits great behind the seats in many pick up trucks and in the trunks of even the most compact vehicles. Built to last, the enclosure of this system is constructed using only the highest quality 5/8" medium density fiberboard. In addition, it also features intricate internal bracing that allows for maximum box volume and unparalleled strength. The enclosure is then wrapped in a premium grade black carpet for an attractive appearance, and then finally a subwoofer grille is affixed to the exterior of the driver for maximum protection.

I’m running this under the rear seat in a 2003 F150 Supercab. There is a lot to say about this little sub, first of all I choose to pair it with a RP-350.1 amp. I’ve ran EVL 10s and 12s in other builds and really wanted to see what a 6.5 could do. To be honest I’m pleasantly surprised with it. The best way to sum up this package is to say it’s better or equivalent to factory subs. Pros: -Decently loud -Heavy magnet and nice wiring on the inside of the box -Great value for a sub and box -Tuned to around 55Hz -Small Size, can fit in almost any vehicle Cons: -Carpet isn’t completely perfect at the seams -Being designed as a factory sub alternative it has a strange tuning. Rolling notes in between 50-65hz are incredibly loud for the small package but when you start pushing the 35-45hz range it falls on its face (which this being said the sub could handle it just fine, just the tuning of the box). -Has an interesting throaty sound to it. Conclusion: This sub is a great bang for the buck if you aren’t expecting trunk banging bass but instead an enchantment to your door speakers. This sub would work perfect in a small suv or truck but would not suggest putting in the trunk of a car because it wouldn’t be very audible though the seats. Excellent compact sub, very easy to install and I'm not very knowledgeable about wiring subs/amps and this was fairly easy. I paired it with the Skar 350 monoblock amp and used the Skar OFC 8 gauge wiring kit to complete this setup. Highly recommend all of it, excellent value for the money, especially the wiring kit. After reading reviews on this I've come to the assumption that the complaints about this sub is most likely due to either overpowering the sub with the amp and/or maxing out its capabilities. At 3/4 gain and LPF this sub hits hard for being small. I have it installed in my Dodge Magnum with Skar tx69s and tx35s for speakers and this subs hits with plenty of power. Personally I just like adding bass to my music when I'm driving, I'm not doing competitions or trying to blow windows out or anything. So in my opinion, this is the perfect sub for any size car or truck where you want to add more bass to your life. ... show more

I purchased the kicker 11HS8 powered sub hoping it would be good but it wasn’t. I ended up going with a pair of these skar 6.5’s and honestly I’m shocked how well these perform. With only being 6.5” they do have a pretty decent punch. They are never going to be a trunk cruncher bass monster like the teenagers on here are wanting them to be but they do put out a surprising amount of bass for their size. I have these tucked behind my rear seat in my 2021 F150 crew cab and they fit perfectly without any issue to the seat. These only go down to around 50hz so don’t expect them to go super low. They’re 6.5” and they’re never going to go low. Again, keep in mind these are not going to blow your windows out so don’t buy them expecting to throw 1000 watts at them and expect them to perform like a pair of 12s because you will pop them. I have a 800watt skar mono block amp on them and it’s turned down pretty far but they’re holding up pretty well. All in all, If you want to add bass to your sound in your crew cab truck, these are an awesome choice if don’t want to take up any passenger or under seat storage room in your crew cab. ... show more

Fit under rear seat in 2018 dodge ram 1500. Filled cab with needed bass. Needs a Lil time for break in of sub to get a lot cleaner bass. Tuned at 50hz will miss lows lower than that. But definitely worth it's low price. Not cheap quality. Nicely ported. Changing my amp. Because it's too overwhelming on sub. I'm going to the skar 350.1. Running hifonics 1200 on it. Almost smoked it. 1/3 powered at the moment. Going to try it in my jeep liberty next. ... show more

Well made and a great value. The finish and feel feels premium. I have it paired with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1 and it punches well above its weight and produces more than enough bass. Unless bass is your thing, and you really want a lot of it, this unit will satisfy. I like the fact it fits behind my single cab 95 chevy seat. Maybe two would be a little better but it clips and kinda sounds like crap and disappointing on only a 500w amp all the way up. Yeah its a little extra bass but comparatively like a stock newer car stereo sub power. I will say, it sounds similar to a CT sounds 12 slim. And this is only half the size! Thats a bit impressive, make a slim slightly larger sub loaded box like this diameter and maybe it will shake some windows/mirrors cause this one does not. I am pretty amazed at this thing! I replaced a Kicker 10” comp that has been crammed painfully behind the seat of my 99 Tacoma truck for several years. I was thinking I’d swap the two out every now and then whenever I felt the need for bigger bass, but this thing is actually not too much less bass than the 10. It only suffers when something extremely bass heavy shuffles up and I have to turn down the bass a little on the eq or I get a real bottoming out sound.
