After months and months of trial between different subwoofers, in different enclosures trying to find the best sound, I finally settled on this beast. I was on the hunt for maximum SPL that my small car could survive, while maintaining perfect clarity, and this sub definitely does the job. For the record, it is actually replacing two 12" Kenwood subs in a ported box. After a good break in period, this sub will hit lower than it's advertised 35hz, and I only have it in a small prefab ported box, although a well built one. The highs are great as well, but the clarity of most notes in the 30 - 60hz range is just perfect. I picked this one 1000w sub over a dual Kenwood subwoofer setup (two 400w subs) and a Kicker Comp R dual loaded enclosure (two 500w subs) because it just has better SPL and SQ up to the point that my car rattles so bad I have to turn it down. Edit 9/15/19 - Have been blasting this sub for 6 or 7 months now, with no issue whatsoever. Upgraded to a 2 cu. ft. box tuned to 32hz and this thing just KILLS everything from about 28hz up and sounds amazing while doing it. SQ and SPL are head and shoulders above the 2 cheaper 12's I had before. Go with a big box and a low tune, you won't regret it! ... show more

For a “budget” minded sub this thing delivers. I have 1 in a 4cuft box and it hits low and hard being driven by only 500 watts. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to and bass to your system!

I was in need of new subs I have two T1s and have had them since 2013 and the surrounds became detached from the cone. So decided to try a skar 12in ddx as a replacement. Being 2 different subs the bass is a bit sloppy but it now hits harder than having Two T1s to the point my trunk latch pops open!! Ordered a second ddx and now have to upgrade my amp right now have a hi fonics 1500 rms which did fine with the aT1s but can tell will need more power for 2 ddx's! However the T1s hit VERY hard and the bass is a lot clearer and crisp but the ddx definitely shakes more and has more punch and is cheap af!!! Definitely a very good buy!! ... show more

I paired this speaker with a Rockville db12 which is 2000 watt peak and 500rms in a qbomb ported box in my boat and just with the one it hit harder than the Rockville marine 12subs I had 2 in the qbomb and the skarr ddx out performs the 2 I have only played it I few times so it's still breaking in but the bass is deep and packs a punch it will take it breathe away highly recommend just hope it last....btw it's heavy as crap lol ... show more
