It's hard to believe this subwoofer costs $160. The build quality is top notch. It has a high roll surround, stitched surround, the tinsel leads are woven into the spider, super heavy motor structure and basket. All things you usually see on a much more expensive woofer. I built a ported box to skar audio specs, 2.5 cubic foot net internal volume with a 32 square inch port 19 inches long. I did a 1.5 inch front baffle to reduce any flex. The woofer is being powered by a Rockford fosgate bd1001cp that's rated at 1483rms @1ohm. So far I'm extremely pleased with the low end frequency response and the overall accuracy of the woofer. It's incredibly loud and quite powerful. I don't hear the sub struggle whatsoever even when I really hammer on it. It can be a little sloppy on some more rapid bass notes, but I attribute most of that to the fact that it's in a giant ported box. Being a first time customer to skar audio I was a little skeptical on what I was getting just because the prices are so competitive. But I'm pleasantly surprised, I would definitely recommend skar audio to anyone who is on the fence. On another good note, shipping was fast, 3 days from the time I ordered. And like the other reviews have said, the woofer came in 3 boxes, one larger Amazon box with some paper padding, and then 2 separate skar audio boxes. The subwoofer motor is packaged in a big piece of formed foam that keeps it from moving, along with a piece of cardboard with foam on the cone and surround of the woofer. Inside all of that is the woofer wrapped in a plastic bag. So needless to say the woofer came without damage and in perfect condition. Sooo i bought to of this subs nd usually dont write reviews on stuff i buy but i felt this had to be a must i got my sub like almost a week earlier then expected.. Big plus for me when i got my order it was packed in three boxes the outside one being the biggest the the second one being a skar audio box and then the box that actually had my sub in it... Oh and there was great padding in all three boxes specially the first box so the rest wouldn’t move at all when i opened the box that had the sub i was impressed very well padded to keep the sub in place and wouldnt move at all through out the ride to my house it was wrapped up in see thru plastic as soon as you take the plastic off the sub you see the detail and hard work that went into the sub very good quality material used on this sub very heavy as well thats was one thing i liked as well i liked the push terminals it had very nice and they looked and felt heavy duty as well BUT what was even more impressing was when i hooked it up MAN OH MAN this sub is a beast makes the roof my 03 silverado flex lik crazy gets everybodys attention when im driving down the busy intersection near my house i also had this lady tell to turn it down that it was shaking everything in her car.. Tbh this a budget friendly sub i dont think its to expensive its perfect for my price range and believe me does it deliver i really recommend this sub theres alot of people that say this subs arent good but believe me they are nd they deliver alot more for the price that there at if your looking for a sub stop looking and buy skar audio wont be disappointed ... show more

As someone who came from a 154db 2 15 trunk build in a small car, getting out of SPL and the headaches associated with that. Smaller daily, built a proper box 2.75cubes, 36sqin port tuned to 35hz and this thing on a taramps bass 800 absolutely impressed and sound quality is superb. Well exceeded my expectations. Went into this purchase with an open mind, as I have never heard a Skar sub before. Had two friends recommended this to replace a crappy RF P2D4-10 I was suffering with. Well, they were right. Not only did it arrive in two days (ordered Sat night, received Mon), but it blows the RF sound quality out of the water. It gets down low and is very loud for a 10. Can't wait to see what it can do after break in. I have this running off an older Kicker ZX 750.1 @ just under half gain (for break in), should be able to go 3/4 afterwards (TBD). In short, these things are definitely worth the $$ Note: I had to cut the opening in the enclosure bigger to accommodate this sub's bigger mounting diameter, and this thing is HEAVY. NOTE #2: These NEED a 2.0 ft3 ported box, sound just is not right in a smaller enclosure. Update after over a year beating on this thing (more it beating me up). Still does not fail to impress! Even upgraded the amp to a Kicker KX 1600.1 and it LOVES the power, only problem now..... I need a second battery to run that amp! Never in my life did I think I would have to run a second battery on a system with only 1 10" sub in it, but here I am..... LOL They're so good, my friend that is a subwoofer snob just bought one to replace his 2 12's he thought were so amazing. ... show more

Hits hard, clean sound, very musical with enough wind for my small system. Does take some time to break in, and its going to stink. Ive been playing it at 1000w rms constantly, and its been holding up. I'll update if anything happens
