adorable and economical choice for casual riders

This bike is so cute! I love the mint green color. I use it to run errands around town, and it's perfect for that purpose. It's also good for leisurely rides along our local bike trail (which is relatively flat). It's only a one speed, so it has its limits. I'm fine with that, but if you're looking for a bike for fitness or commuting purposes, this is not the bike for you. The quality of the bike seems consistent with the price. At under $200, I have no expectation that it will last forever or endure heavy use. That being said, it's probably a good choice for kids. One mistake I made was not checking how big of a frame I would need for my size. I'm 5'3 and 100lbs, and I'm probably near the upper limit of what this bike can carry. I had to adjust the seat pretty far up, but was able to find a comfortable position. However, I would have returned this one for a larger size if I wasn't so lazy. Assembly was easy and took me less than an hour. My only complaint is that allen wrenches were not included with the bike. The seller resolved this by sending me the allen wrenches, even though they don't include any tools with the bikes. That was nice of him! So hopefully you can learn from my mistake--check the assembly instructions on the Beachbikes website to make sure you have all of the tools you need before you start assembling the bike. ... show more

We bought two Firmstong beach cruisers this summer. They are simple to assemble and well-made. The instruction book and manuel are easy to follow. They are lighter than some of the other affordable bicycles I've purchased. The seat is pretty comfortable with springs that give. Bought this one for my daughter who is 4' 9" tall and able to ride the 24" version. I bought this bicycle as an Amazon Warehouse deal and my only complaint is that they didn't repackage it - so the parts moved around in the box causing some damage (small tear in seat, few scratches, and possible rim warp) so wish I had bought a new one instead. I then bought a new 26" men's version on Amazon and it was packaged very well with no damage from shipping. If the cost difference isn't much, it's safer to buy a new one so it is in original shipping packaging to prevent heavy parts from banging against each other during shipping. Great bike for price, but be prepared to true the wheels!

Package arrived quickly with all parts included. Assembly of bike from 80 percent was painless. It required only a few tools that were not included--screwdriver and a pair of adjustable wrenches. Quality seems good with clean welding and good paint. Not a light bike, but that is to be expected at price point. Only reason for four stars instead of five is the front wheel was incredibly out of true when it arrived--probably a centimeter laterally, plus significant flat spots. Not sure if it left the factory that way, or it somehow happened in shipment, but it required about an hour of work adjusting with a spoke wrench to get it back to round and straight. ... show more

Looks & Rides Like a Dream

I'm 5'0" tall; I ordered the 24" single-speed model, and it fits my petite frame perfectly. I got the mint green color, and it's so pretty and girly...I love it! My husband assembled the bike during his lunch break, and I was riding around the neighborhood that afternoon. The box it came in conveniently lists the tools that are needed to assemble the bike. Make sure you have a set of allen wrenches, as a lot of the assembly relies on this tool. The Urban Lady is perfect for casual riding along flat surfaces. I own a mountain bike, but I like to use this cruiser when I'm just riding around the neighborhood and don't want to fuss with all the gears on my mountain bike. The coaster brakes are easy to use and remind me of the bikes I rode as a kid. The wide seat makes for a comfortable ride, even when going over small bumps in the road. Installation was challenging especially when having minimum tools. Some screws are very tight and it difficult to loosen. Other items are falling off such as the back red light fell off after my second ride with the bike. Im thinking to buy additional items such as back and front lights. Good Packaging - Easy Assembly

I bought this for my granddaughter so I have not ridden in myself. This review is more about packaging and assembly of the bicycle. I was impressed with the packaging. I always worry about how well the contents of a larger heavier package will survive shipping. In this case, someone has thought through minimizing friction and impact points and the ones that couldn't be eliminated were well protected. The bike arrived without a scratch or blemish. Assembly took me just under 30 minutes at a relaxed leisurely pace. I'm fairly handy and have assembled a few bikes before. I had all the necessary tools at hand. Assembly required installing the front wheel, seat stem, seat, handlebars, pedals and reflectors. Everything else came out of the package pre-assembled. ... show more
