  • Excellent speakers at a good price.
Color: Beech Wood
So far we really like these speakers. We decided to downsize from our old bulky speakers. They a very versatile. We have them hardwired to our stereo system and also use the Bluetooth access to play music from our other electronic devices. Sound quality is impressive from a shelf style speaker and output is more than enough for our needs. The appearance is pleasing and construction is neat and clean. The Bluetooth connectivity is simple and easy. After the first session it’s just a push of a button and you’re playing your favorite music. The price and quality are both very good. ... show more

  • Very Impressed, great buy.
Color: Cherry Wood
I did not have a lot of expectations when I purchased these speakers. I bought them only to enhance a record player that I recently acquired for my wife. I liked the atheistic and the reviews, so that was enough for me. Turns out, these are very nice looking and sounding speakers. The have a great bass level, and the mid and highs are decent. Overall, I am very impressed with these speakers. Just make sure that you choose them for the right application. As for me, THUMBS UP Singing Wood! ... show more

  • Great sound
Color: Beech Wood
Great sounding speakers. Could not get an optical splitter to work correctly. Then used Bluetooth to connect to the TV, however, after using it for a few days the sound will not go up on the speakers via TV volume. Will continue to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Excellent sound quality!
Really like the styling and sound quality of these shelf speakers. I wasn't looking for Bluetooth speakers that needed to be charged all the time. So, I specifically liked the fact that these came with an AC adapter to provide consistent power. Additionally, the 80 watts give you the ability to add a subwoofer or additional speakers to the system. The remote completed the package!!! ... show more

  • Disappointing despite the good reviews
Color: Cherry Wood
I would rate these 2-1/2 stars overall. Appearance, construction, packaging, accessories, ease of setup, Bluetooth pairing- are all first rate - 5 stars. But of course, the reason we buy speakers is for the sound, and in this regard, I am really disappointed. I didn't expect a home theater sound system- I didn't even expect them to fulfill the dream of a "poor man's Edifier" speaker pair. But I did expect them to sound a LOT better than they do. For context- I am replacing a 25-year-old set of Yamaha computer speakers- very small desktop speakers with a modest subwoofer. These are rated at a total of 30 watts RMS (6 + 6 + 18 SW). If they hadn't failed, I probably would not be buying new speakers. The SingingWood are advertised as being 80 watts- let's assume RMS is 40 watts, so still 1/3 more powerful. Here are my observations: 1. My first impression was that these SingingWood speakers are unpleasantly bright. I double checked the treble and bass controls to make sure they were in their mid-point detents and played with cutting treble to find a more pleasant setting- I nearly had it fully cut before the grating edge was reduced. (I am a senior citizen- supposedly our high-frequency hearing is the first portion of the spectrum we lose!) 2. The second thing I noticed was a lack of midrange definition or presence. It seemed muted or muffled. So I tried reducing the bass and treble settings to see if that would allow the midrange to emerge and clear up. Emerge, yes; clear up, no. 3. The third thing I noticed was a lack of bass. I figured that with a stronger amp built-in than that of my old Yamahas coupled with a generation's improvement in speaker technology, these would have been far better. But no- while I could hear bass guitar parts, for example, they were trebly. I tried several pieces of music that I am very familiar with and many settings to try to get a little bit of low-end. I have used rechargeable portable Bluetooth speakers for ~$35 that had noticeably better low end. A pair of those ($70) would sound better IMO. 4. The fourth thing was an overall boominess, as if something wasn't properly damped inside the cabinets, regardless of the piece of music. 5. When connected over Bluetooth and watching a YouTube video, there was quite a noticeable delay between the audio and the video. Some delay is to be expected. This went away when I connected using the provided RCA to 3.5mm cable. I could not test the optical connection (cable included!) because my PC doesn't have an optical output. The quality of the sound when listening to music did not change appreciably between Bluetooth and analog wired connection. 6. Yes, these are loud. You can crank up the volume and drive me out of the room. So I went about boosting the bass, cutting the treble, trying many different combinations, looking for some settings that would take away the high-end harshness, provide a little more midrange clarity and roundness, get rid of the mid-range boominess and hopefully provide a modicum of low-end floor appropriate for a small speaker. I never succeeded in finding any settings such that I even wanted to listen to music, let alone a combination that I found pleasing. This is in stark contrast to my experience with cheap portable Bluetooth speakers. I then decided to compare to my wife's nine-year-old Edifier 1170's which *cost twice as much.* I knew this wouldn't be a fair comparison, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't simply expecting too much from a small speaker, and these are the same size +/-. The Edifiers provided a much rounder and consistent sound across the spectrum. There was no hint of boominess. And the Bluetooth delay was very substantially less (probably 1/3 of the SingingWood). And again, these are 9-year-old speakers. Look, I love what a nice job SingingWood has done by producing an attractive well-built product, with every cord you might need included in the package, even an optical cable. But the sound doesn't work for me- you may feel very differently, as many other reviewers have. To me, my 25-year old Yamaha computer speakers sound much better, and readily available rechargeable portable Bluetooth speakers sound better. I haven't decided whether it's worth it to me to pay twice as much for another pair of Edifiers because I'm only using these for computer speakers- but I might (and I'm on a tight budget). Or I might even buy a pair of rechargeable portable Bluetooth speakers. In summary, I cannot reconcile my experience with all the reviewers extolling the sound of these SingingWood speakers. With disappointment and even a bit of sadness, I am returning them. ... show more

  • I think these sound great
Color: Cherry Wood
For what they are, their sound reproduction is very, very good. To expect them to be able to reproduce extreme low freq would be stupid, as they're only mids and highs. The remote works well, they look very high quality. Glad I purchased these instead of the more expensive ones, as they meet my needs (speakers for my PC) very well. Sound way better than the Logitech PC speakers I've had. ... show more

  • Good function, good looks * Updated * died in 60 days
Color: Cherry Wood
After 60 days of use, they won’t turn on. Nothing I do gets them to work. I contacted Amazon and will try to return. Seems like quality is a real issue here as I’m not the only one with this problem. These really put out a beautiful sound, especially for their size. I have them paired to a turntable via RCA cables, and I’m hearing details I’ve never noticed in songs before. Even my kids remark how clear the songs sound. They also work very well via Bluetooth and my phone. Speaking of Bluetooth, these pair with my phone faster and easier than any other Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever used. It’s immediate and never fails. Two minor quibbles: 1. When turning them on, they always default to Bluetooth rather than the input use were using previously 2. I wish you could change the input on the speaker directly instead of having to use the remote. That will be a major problem if I ever lose the tiny remote it comes with. (Remote works very well, btw). ... show more
