  • Great speakers
Size: 6 x 8 inches Coaxial
For context, I am not an audio file. Just an average guy who wants a good sounding speaker. I put this in my 1986 740 GL E it is a big upgrade from what I had before and definitely sounds better. I don’t think this video does it justice but definitely worth the price probably the best budget speakers you can find on the market, the set up was just wires connected directly to the ground. Took about 10 minutes. The sound quality is amazing. Definitely a good choice for any vehicle. ... show more

  • Good budget Replacement
Size: 6 x 8 inches Coaxial
The main body where magnet is bigger than my old Memphis speaker, had to trim my 2001 Tacoma prerunner single cab's OEM adapter. Skar is almost 3-3/4" and old one is 3-1/8". It is just a pair of bare bone speaker, no wiring. Other than that all good and it sound a bit better.

  • Sounds Great!
Size: 3.5 inches Coaxial
Recently purchased a 2026 RAM 2500 which came with the Alpine 9 speaker system with subwoofer. The factory sound was horrible! I took a chance on purchasing these speakers to help bring some depth of sound into the vehicle. I was not sure about the mounting depth of the speakers for the dash, center dash, and rear headliners. I did a little research and took a chance that these would fit. Bingo! They fit great!! The sound is a huge improvement over the factory speakers. Everything has brightened up quite a bit and vocals sound cleaner. The only drawback is the ohm resistance. These are at 4ohm while the factory speakers are at 2ohms. Albeit not noticing a big difference in volume. Other than that, I would recommend these speakers for any upgrade. ... show more

  • Best Budget for certain
Size: 6 x 8 inches Coaxial
Used them for some time now... 2 months to be exact. Paired all 4 6x8 with a Harmony Audio 400.4. Not the best but doable amp. Set by ear of course as I don't own a SMD DD1 or O-Scope... ran directly to said amp and not my Kenwood Excelon KDCX3. On initial impressions looking at Quality Control on the speakers its done really well. It was consistent on all 4 speakers. No grinds, binds, or pops when pressure was applied on cone to test any imperfections. REALLY like the red spider designer and red dome tweeter. Brings the black out well. One thing I wished was done differently was the speaker terminals. Either make them wider to have more surface area to solder on or just make them push terminals. Yes I understand it costs less to keep them this way but im sure speaking for alot of those who are wondering, and has these... if they were push terminals most of us wouldn't mind the price increase to have that flexibility and ease of installation. Other things to note, most main stream branded speakers of same cost doesn't compare to these. In the same price range finding speakers with the same build materials is next to impossible. Glass fiber cones and silk dome tweeter are nice combos for this price. Stamped baskets also keeps prices cheaper also. One more thing I would like to see Skar Audio do in the future is reduce the basket size. It is a true 6x8 but this basket is a bit wide. On installation some may need to do some sanding or prep work to have basket sitting flush with oem mounting. I drive an 02 mustang and it works but with some wiggling and very slight modifications to the oem speaker mounts of course... not expecting a perfect fit but just my 2 cents on it. Performance - comparing these to what I have owned and played with... which are the Alpine Type R 6x9 the Alpines still outdo these. When I ran the Alpines they weren't even amplified just straight from the head unit which is the current KDCX3. It was louder, deeper, and had better acoustical response. These TX series were brought up to the same level as the Alpine with the amp though. Of course it's 60$ vs 100$per pair... in this scenario you do get what you paid for. The TX has the better tweeter for certain though. Anything 1khz on the Alpines were unbearable and ear piercing. The Skar tweeter are definitely much more linear and easier to the ears. Consistency on play time they both done fantasticly. From Rap to Screamo, double drum kicks and extended bass sweeps both did amazing. Although again, the Alpines were not powered via amp... with the glass fiber cone material mids were more crisp but held less resonance. My Harmony Amp had a 12/dB slope and yet it was still noticeable. The mid on the Skars didn't hang as long. Longer and lower notes also seemed to bottom the Skars out. Roughly 38hz and below... only tested this to see the potential although I know it wasn't ideal for them. The Skar never started smoking or stinking. They held up for 3 hours of constant play at my full volume as I do drive for extended times going out. No sudden smells or stops from the speakers. They have great punchy mids with the right filters, and good sweeps for bass. All in all compared to the Alpines the Alpines had better efficiency due to their neo motors. This one has better value and highs. Play consistency is the same though. If you're looking for the best value this is it in my opinion. They definitely hold true to their rms ratings. Dont plan to overpower them as they'll start to bottom out and clip. They do however need an external amp to reach their full potential in my opinion. Maybe in the future if Skar redesigned these they can definitely be top tier component pieces. Maybe downsize the basket, increase the throw distance, and up the efficiency per db/watt there will be no other that can compete. 4/5 overall. Would I buy again? Hell yes. ... show more

  • Skar tweeters are light years better then factory.
Size: 3.5 inches Coaxial
Great audio upgrade over factory, they sound 100 times better than before. Only negative thing, the skar tweeter is far bigger had to force them in between the window and dash. Once I forced them in with out breaking anything they bolted right in. And worked good with the red wolf wiring harness they were on the correct polarity. I’m still amazed how much better they sound in my ram 2500 bighorn. ... show more

  • Amazing tweeters
Size: 6 x 8 inches Coaxial
Just installed these with my son in his car for his birthday. We have them hooked up to a budget Taramps amplifier and a Taramps DSP. He already has an excellent budget Hyanka sub and amp for the lows (think he has the ultimate budget car audio system.) He wanted to hear snare drums, high hats, “hear all the instruments.” Let me just say I’m blown away by these for the price. Highs are crisp and clear and really stand out. They have great low end too if you have the power to drive them. They seem a little lacking for mids but that might be the nature of 2-ways. My son’s stock deck speakers and even his subwoofer, to a degree, compensate quite nicely for mids though. Overall, it’s a very nice balance. (Way better than mine 😝) He was ecstatic and really happy with the results. You can’t go wrong with these for the money. Got to be the best ones for your buck. Especially, if you like to hear vocals and upper ranges (again they are indeed full range when paired with an amplifier.) I’d already picked some up for me a few days ago too 😂 Very happy with that choice now. ... show more

  • Excellent Sound
Size: 6.5 inches Coaxial
I recently installed the Skar Audio TX65 6.5" 200W 2-Way Elite Coaxial Car Speakers, and I’m seriously impressed. The sound quality is excellent — clear highs, strong mids, and surprisingly deep bass for coaxial speakers. Music sounds crisp and full even at higher volumes with no distortion. Installation was a breeze, too. The speakers fit perfectly in my factory mounts, and the wiring was straightforward. If you’re looking for an affordable upgrade that delivers top-tier audio performance and easy installation, these Skar TX65s are an amazing choice. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great product, no support.
Size: 6.5 inches Components
Great sounding, they are 50rms per speaker not 100 like the marketing wank would have you believe. I lost a ring to the a pillar mount and customer service told me to kick rocks. Pretty lame to have such a great product only to be hobbled by a poorly managed company behind it. Hard pass. Next time, maybe ooh I don't know, sell customers spare parts? ... show more
