Perfect solution to my lighting problem in the kitchen. We bought a house and the kitchen had been remodeled by someone who didn't pay attention to the lighting. My options were either turn on the overhead light and feel like we were under "interrogation" w/such bright lights or use only the recessed lighting in the ceiling which did not provide adequate lighting. This was a frustrating situation. Enter Simple Designs. We opted for the white shades. This little workhorse has solved our problem w/kitchen lighting. We bought Walmart's Great Value (4 pack) 40W, Non Dimmable, Daytime LED bulbs w/candelabra base. I'm sure we saved a small fortune on these vs. the ones offered here on Amazon. Wow the functionality and look for the price we paid is just awesome! I tucked them up under the cabinets. And if I do say so myself I think they look smashing lol. The only thing that I am not happy about is that one of the lamps came with a fairly chipped up silver stem (attaches the base to the shade). It seems like it was dropped prior to making its way to us. I do hope the vendor makes a note and helps us out with a new part! This issue prevented me from giving a 5 star review. ... show more

These are nicely weighed small side lamps. They are smaller than I expected but with the right bulbs it provides good bedside reading light. It also is low enough light it doesn’t disturb the person next to you trying to sleep too much if you have to get up early in the morning and the other one doesn’t. ... show more
