I read all the reviews and I knew it wasn't sturdy when I purchased it but decided to give it a try. I bought if for a guest room and didn't 'want to spend alot of money. It looks really nice but it not sturdy. I have it in a corner near the bed so it doesn't have to moved alot. Very disappointed with this lamp. It had so much potential! The good parts- the base is quite heavy, making it a sturdy floor lamp. It was easy to put together and looks nice... But- when it arrived I noticed white stuff on several spots on the cord, not sure of the substance. I scrubbed it with Clorox wipes and I still couldn't get all of it off. Next, when I unwrapped the shade the glue holding the seam together seems to have failed causing it to separate. I'm keeping it because returning it will probably be a hassle but maybe the company will see my review and return some of the purchase price. ... show more

I loved the look and the price, but this is a case of getting what you pay for. The joints where the lamp column screws together are so skimpy the thing falls apart whenever you touch it to move it. I cannot tell you how many times I have screwed it back together. Its too bad because the shade is nice and the base is heavy. Bottom line: Stylish but poorly made. It was simple to put together. It took less than ten minutes. It provides a good amount of light to the room. The only downside is I feel like to foot switch is a little award for my space.
