  • Works great for my unusual use case
I setup a "Go" device as a permanent-on wifi hotspot in an unoccupied house with no internet service. It's connected to a Battery-Backup UPS through a timer switch so normally it runs on its own internal battery 16 hours a day, and recharges for 8. In this config the Solis battery charges/discharges daily for conditioning and the UPS prevents it from turning off if there's an extended power loss. House HVAC control and security system connect to the Solis Go Wifi for remote access / control. Free 1 GB/month data are more than enough. This has worked fine for months. ... show more

  • Excellent High Speed service where no service exists-No fee for bandwidth. Very satisfied.
I bought this as a stop-gap for one of my managers having to work at a site with no internet. Set up was so easy that I barely read the directions and missed an important step. I treated it like a wireless router and did not attach it to my computer. Very slow. But when I plugged it into my computer I got in the 500mbps download and 100mbps upload, nearly what I was getting at home. It has connections for USB-C so it works well on my mac, my PC and my phone. It also has connections for the old USB and Android. I was so impressed with it I bought another for me when I travel. Not plugged into a power supply, this lasted more than my work-day, which was plenty.. The ABSOLUTE best thing about this hot spot is that "1 Gig" is included, free "for Life". I took that claim lightly, expecting very little more than a pop up subscription requirement, but the free gig seems to be plenty for what I needed (web searching/Email). The price on this absolutely blows away the competition, and this provided a much better solution than I expected. ... show more

  • Convenient for travel
Love that this comes with a built-in power bank - one less device to weigh down my bag. So far it’s performed well - speed is good and very easy to use (once you read the quick instructions). There are two on buttons - one for the power of the device in the side and another on flat surface back where the built in charging cords are. The contrasting orange makes it easy to see. It’s the size of a regular iPhone (e.g. 12 model). My only concern so far is the history of the device seems to show it was last accessed in China. I’ll use it for everyday use but I would avoid accessing banking info or any sensitive information when connected to this portable internet bank. I’ll update on lifespan next year. ... show more

  • Great Device and Great Company.
I've been a customer of SIMO for a long time and their wireless hotspots have been indispensable for international travel. Half the time I can barely get wifi in airports and when you land in another country you often can't make calls or use data if you don't have a sim card. The GO is very similar to the lite but it has a larger battery capacity. Plus it's convenient to have phone hookups already built in. I get a strong signal almost everyone I go, even in places that I normally don't get any phone signal. This can't be used in backwoods far from civilization, but I've yet to find a spot where I don't get coverage. Their customer service is good and I tell everyone that I know to get one of these. ... show more

  • Best way to keep connected...
Absolutely fire. Been to Europe 3x and Asia once. First time using this (tried another hot spot, e-sim and regular sim card); hands down best way to travel. Always had connection in 7 Asian countries all over the region. Had to find a new hotspot a couple times but I left it on 24/7 (minus planes) and traveled thousands of miles across China and Japan. Doubles as a charger. $1.75/day for Internet in all of Asia, I think it's called PAC (you can select by region)..insane value. Have a bunch of free data leftover (you get it monthly) bc I went with day-by-day vs pay by gig. Only had 2 slowdowns at night bc I downloaded gigs and gigs of anime for my iPad (to watch on 40 hours of flights). ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money
Don’t buy this.. Worked well for about a week and a half, then completely stopped charging and started making a high-pitched noise. I wasn’t even streaming — just using it for basic laptop work — and my data ran out way faster than expected. I paid $90 for the 30-day unlimited plan, and right after that, the device stopped working. Support has been somewhat helpful (they paused my data), but there’s still no real fix. I was told to try different charging methods, which didn’t help. I work remotely and need reliable internet. Because this one failed, I had to spend even more money on a different, more expensive device just to stay connected and keep working. I can’t just go to a coffee shop due to my hours, so this was incredibly frustrating. If you’re looking for reliability, this isn’t it. Maybe they’ll fix it, but for now, I’m disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t waste your money — I wish I hadn’t. I’ve now spent almost $400. Of course I plan to return one- but I didn’t have an option as I NEED internet. ... show more

  • data cost way too much and usage doesn't seem correct
the metered rates are off, I burned off 1G data in half a day from simple browsing, didn't stream or download anything. to give you a comparison, I was using my phone carriers mobile hotshot for a week before this device arrived, I used it for heavy remote meetings for 5 days, and the data used is around 20 G. whatever means they use to calculate the data is not correct and likely a rip off. ... show more

  • Exactly what I was looking for in a Hotspot
I have been searching for the perfect hotspot, and I found it. This SIMO Solis Go is exactly what I needed. First I tested it out for a week camping locally. Watched TV, worked on my laptop, and wifi for cell phones, worked great. Now I am in Europe and it works fantastic. I am very pleased with the different purchase options for the amount of data you wish you use. Wonderful product, I am passing this on to all my friends who are looking for the perfect hotspot. Very easy to set up and control with your cell phone. Thank you for a great product. ... show more
