  • Looks Great
Easy to install, worked great on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500

  • Perfect Match!!!!
This is the best looking kit out there, it matched the silver color of my existing dash perfectly and gives it a real factory look after it was installed. It does take a fair bit of trimming on your existing radio opening but nothing a little dremel tool (with a cutting wheel) couldn’t handle. I’m sure you could use a file but it would obviously take longer and be a little bit more work on yourself. It is extremely secure also once it is installed. I’m glad I returned the black one I had bought before I found this one. I don’t do many reviews because most things are generic but this needed to be heard. Like most people I read the reviews and buy things based on them so I assure you this is worth the money because it made my radio install perfect!!! ... show more

  • Works for it's purpose, comes with a bit of a caveat
Excellent value for the money if you want to install a double dinn in your Dodge. I have a 2007 Ram 1500 ST and with just a little bit of work this was easy to install. Just need some painter's tape, a pencil, and a dremel with a sanding cylinder set to a low speed. Tape it to keep your factory panel paint from chipping, mark your lines 1/8th inch from the edge, and take your time removing the plastic. You can always remove more, you can't add any back. Pros: looks clean, matches factory paint, fits my Kenwood DNX692 navigation unit cleanly without the bezel adapter. Cons: gets rid of the top pocket. Requires a tool you may not readily have and skills you may not be comfortable with if you're not used to a dremel. You CANNOT go back to a single dinn. Once you cut that bar and shave the sides, you are committed to a double dinn. It has a ever so slight gap around the edges, but once it's installed you would never notice it; you'd think of it as just another "trim gap". The included wire harness is pinned WRONG. To use it, you will need to remove the red and orange wires and move them adjacent to the top row of speaker wires (use your truck's harness for reference). Additionally, what's not included, or mentioned, is you will need a separate Metra or Scoche device to interface with Chrylser's anti-theft. If you try to bypass it and just run the two yellow wires together, it will "fault" the radio and not work. ... show more

  • 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 install
This worked perfectly for a 2008 Dodge ram 1500. As other said there are no instructions and I wish I would have taken install photos for others but forgot. So here it is in typed format 1. Cut the cross bar out 2. Shave 1/16 or bit less from the sides and top. DONT CUT THE BOTTOM. I used a diamond cutoff whell on my rotary tool. The bottom is a clip point for the bezel and make sure you don't cut the clips on the dash. The top of the bezel clips into those. 3. Insert bezel into dash and use the two half moon shaped brackets to secure the bezel to the dash. Use supplied self-tapping screws. If I can do it so can you. I did not use supplied wire harness or antenna. So can't comment on those. All in all this was fantastic and very easy. ... show more

  • Well worth the money!
If you are trying to decide between this or going ahead and buying a whole new bezel... just buy this.. it was super easy to instal, and looks great.. yes, you will have to do a little cutting, but if you have a Dremel, it will take you 5 minutes and will save you a couple hundred bucks on the bezel. I am only slightly handy, and this was no problem at all for me. ... show more

  • Do not buy this kit, even if it’s your moms dying wish to have a better radio in her dodge!
The only reason for 1 star is the fact it came and instructions were decently accurate on removal of the mini console.. Let’s start off by saying I used a standard double din touch screen. I removed everything as stated in the instructions only used an 8mm socket instead of the “Phillips screws” the instructions outlined. No problem. Easy to adapt. Next, I follow instructions to remove the middle bar for the pocket.. again.. easy. Now the nightmare begins.. when I say this thing wouldn’t fit is an understatement . It was over 1/4 inch wider than the opening it was supposed to be designed to fit into.. oh wait, that’s not all! So after trimming and trimming and trimming to get it to sit in my dash properly, I then feel like I have it whipped.. que the next series of crap manufacturing! I go to install my standard double din unit.. the opening was over 1/4 inch to narrow! Now I’m starting to really get angry with this fiasco of a project! But I keep pressing forward! Finally I get the stereo to fit.. of course now it looks like Daenerys Targayens has breathed fire around all the edges so I proceed to sand to get it nice and smooth.. still not perfect but hey,, I have a radio trim ring.. I can hide a little roughness.. I go to test fit it.. mother of god! It won’t fit either! At this moment I’m about 3 hours deep in this 45 min project.. ok.. it’s my day off.. I can detail the rest of the truck later I think.. another 25 mins pass and I finally have everything fitting nicely and with the trim ring in place.. it looks ok.. so I go to pat myself on the back.. rest of this is easy.. little but if wiring for the radio plug stuff back in.. yippee.. Yea, that was short lived.. I go out install the radio in the after figuring out what set of holes I need to use to mount the radio to the dash after some trial and error plug it all in.... nothing. Mind you.. I’m using the instructions provided and the wiring supplied.. I don’t have amplified system.. do some quick troubleshooting and it’s clear it’s not my radio having a fit... I do some more digging and holy bananas what do I find... the wire harness supplied doesn’t wire correctly! Now I’m Seriously cursing this monstrosity of a dash kit I ordered.. the “ignition wire” on the harness supplied doesn’t even plug into anything on the factory harness..so I do some research.. and I find me a switched hot to tap into and I get my system working.. finally time to button it all up.. here’s the short end of the story... I’ve been working on cars for 29 years of my 36 in existence.. to put it simply.. I’m fairly mechanically inclined so luckily I knew how to adapt and overcome the crap storm I’ve endured for the better part of 6 hours.... 6 hours to install a radio!! If you aren’t mechanically gifted! Run for the hills! If you think you can tackle this job with this kit as it comes.. think again! Very very unhappy with this! I will not put up a photo of my work, it looks nice and professional but it was not thanks to this kit! ... show more

  • Pay more, get more (Horrible)
This kit is absolutely the worst I've ever installed. The double DIN stereo did NOT fit. This stereo install hardware kit had to be cut on the interior opening where the stereo head unit face sticks through. It's too small. I took my time, used a fine dremal cutoff wheel. I've probably installed 60 -65 aftermarket stereos in the last 20 years and I wouldn't recommend buying this kit at all. ... show more
