For what it is, it works well - so the 5 stars. This would be great in your personal 'bar' for IMMEDIATE usage but is not really going to work as a IceMaker you can use for even a 12 hour period. First it is not insulated (as it states in the instructions) and will NOT hold the ice (frozen) for ANY length of time. Second, the Ice it creates has a lot of AIR which makes it freeze fast, but the physical quantity of 'frozen water' is not that much. This makes ANY style of this type of ice melt fast. Third, when the water runs out, the unit shuts down. Meaning the bin of Ice will melt faster. Let's say you were to leave it running 'unattended' expecting to have a bin full of ice a couple hours later: What would actually happen is it would make the first "ice" pretty quick and it starts to melt some. Ice would continue to be made and melt slightly until it ran out of water. At that point the Freezer shuts down,it warms up and the ice in the bin melts faster & faster. This thawed water will fall into the WATER RESERVOIR until it all melted and you would find it with no Ice, full of water and saying it needs water -OR- might restart and refreeze the thawed water, over & over again. Also, the ice is really only good straight up; i.e. crushing or chipping would be marginal due to the air content. LAST, I bought it to use in a true (commercial) ice shaver for a quickie snow cone without using every cube in the freezer and not having to wait or keep my freezer full of extra Ice Cubes. The "ICE" this unit creates will NOT work with a "Shaver" due to the AIR CONTENT.

It does what its supposed to but if your looking to plug it in and have ice in a reasonable amount of time that is not going to happen. It take a couple hours to start producing ice. If its in the heat it has a really hard time keeping up.

I got this machine for my travel trailer, but because of shipping delays, it ended up arriving after my departure date. Because of this, I bought an ice maker at Target and we ended up using this one at home. We've been using countertop ice-makers for years, mostly Whirlpool brand. When I returned home, I plugged in the Silonn appliance so that I could clean the Whirlpool we had on the counter. I can't really explain why I was dissatisfied with the Silonn. It seemed like I needed to turn it back on if I refilled the water or took the ice down below the full sensor. I don't have to do that with the Whirlpool, it just starts making ice again. At home we leave the machines on 24/7, but in the travel trailer, I turn them off at night. The Silonn should be fine in the trailer because of this. We could call this issue "user error" since there is no reason that I can't turn it back on after refill or ice movement, but since I'm used to a machine that starts up again, I often forget and I really like ice, so I get overly annoyed when there isn't any. We have resolved the issue in our house, but it's something others might want to be aware of.

After our refrigerator ice maker broke and was very costly to replace, this was our next option. Very happy with it. You do have to be around to retrieve and bag the ice but we expected that. The ice is a nice size.

I called the company I got. all The info and permission I need to send it back. Before I could do anything with that information I fell and broke my hip. My house is too small for a wheel chair so I have been staying with family until I am able to return I have no idea whether they will take it back now are not. I had a good friend come over and close and lock everything up for me as I left in a ambulance. With my nearest relative being 320 miles from home. It's going to be a while before I get a chance to deal with the ice Maker.. When, It was working It worked okay. It freezes the water quickly and drops it into a tray. The ice is wet the entire time because it is not a freezer.

I had this product for less than a year and it has just started leaking for some reason. The product has never been dropped nor moved from its position on the counter where it was initially placed. I hate to get rid of it after it has been such a great product for me. Maybe I can reach out to the seller.
