I hate this light with a holy burning passion. With regard to the aesthetics... it looks like the picture, and if you like the picture you'll like the lamp. My wife loves it and continues to rave about its beauty and her excitement about showing all of her friends. The installation was like entering the 7th circle of hell. I am certain that my wife bought this lamp in retaliation for giving her a $300 limit on her dining room lamp. She read the reviews, made herself fully aware of the pains of installing this chrome and fake crystal abomination, and gleefully clicked on "add to cart". Because I have to lash out in some form or fashion, here is a step by step detail of the pain and suffering I experienced assembling this carefully disguised torture device. Step 1 - The instructions. I have seen more detailed instructions on a can of soup. There is one page of instructions that appear to be a hand drawn schematic that could only serve to make assembly more complicated. I suggest you use the instructions to cover your mouth and mask your screams during step 4. Step 2 - Packaging. The entire base is wrapped in a protective film. Although I appreciate the manufacturers rigor in ensuring that the paper thin chrome was protected, I did not appreciate having to disassemble the entire apparatus in order to remove all said film. One and a half hours later, I had a pile of sticky film sitting next to me, my Goldendoodle was spreading sticky film all around the house, and I had a shiny chrome rectangle sitting in front of me with almost no sticky film on it. Step 3 - Wiring - Admittedly, I made this harder on myself by following instructions from another review. The other reviewer appeared to have a much better understanding of the workings of Chinese wiring and explained how in great detail how to test the wires with a device known as a "continuity tester" to ensure that the black and white wires from my house went where they were supposed to in the lamp wiring. Having achieved great success in step 2, I wanted to ensure top quality in step 3, so I and I made my way to Home Depot to buy a continuity tester. After carefully following the instructions from Mr. Chinese wiring man, I learned two things - (1) The black and white wire can go in either hole regardless of how the continuity tester beeps and (2) Home Depot doesn't accept returns for opened continuity testers despite only having been used once. ON the bright side, I did learn how to use a continuity tester. Step 4 - Hanging and balancing - Welcome to my personal hell. Three years ago I had surgery to correct an under bite. They broke my top jaw and brought it forward a few millimeters and put a whole bunch of steel inside my face. My head was swollen to the size of a basketball and I had to eat through a straw for six months. This was the most painful experience of my life before I encountered this lamp sent to me from the bowels of hell itself. There is no way to fully describe the frustration of balancing this light using a wiring system which was evidently designed by an engineer with a vendetta against middle class American husbands who are too cheap to hire electricians. The process of balancing this light took no less than 2 hours. This is only an estimate because I stopped several times to scream into my set of instructions, throw tiny crystal balls at my Goldendoodle (who was laughing at me and dodging effortlessly), go on long walks to reflect on what I am doing with my life, and sit staring at the wires while quietly weeping and questioning my sanity. Step 5 - Hanging the crystals. My wife, daughter and mother appear to be having a grand time putting up the crystals. They are all laughing merrily and exclaiming what a beautiful light it is. They are, however, curious as to why several of the tiny crystal balls are spread all around the living room and across the back yard. On the bright side they do include a set of white gloves to ensure you don't get fingerprints on the chrome during installation. ... show more

My wife wanted to buy this light fixture after looking at places such as restoration hardware and found this fixture similar enough at a significantly lower price. For installation, I did not have to install this fixture, since we had another fixture which was even more difficult to put together and so had an electrician install this fixture. That said, it took the electrician just about 15 minutes to install this fixture and so I did not have to pay him anything other than for installing the other fixture which took more than 2 hours. We had used this since 2016, but our home got hit by a tornado in 2019 and had to move. So, uninstalled this fixture and took it away. We just moved back into the home again and are expecting to install this back again and enjoy many more years with this fixture. Overall, we think this is good value for the money and looks very good over the dining table that we had it installed. ... show more

This chandelier is absolutely gorgeous. It was packaged very well and arrived quickly. Assembly can be done by anyone with a little patience and some basic electrical and mechanical ability. I highly recommend two people. Use the gloves that are supplied with it to prevent fingerprints. Trust me they are a pain to get cleaned off once they’re on there. The crystals are glass not acrylic so be careful with them. I had one broken one which really wasn’t a problem because they supplied plenty of extra parts just in case, which was a huge relief to me. It took a few hours to install and assemble so be prepared to spend some time there. The cables were extremely long. We have a 10 foot ceiling and I had to shorten the cables up about half way or more to get the height I wanted. I didn’t cut them I just pulled them up into the box. The instructions are very basic but read them because there are very useful tips in them like the part about adjusting the cable length. ... show more

We bought this a few months back for our office and just was able to have it hung. Wow!!! Is all I can say. I am in awe at how beautiful this chandelier is! I have bought a ton of chandeliers for our home and now for our office and this one takes the cake. The crystals are gorgeous, the pics just don't do this justice. I was worried that it would not look substantial enough because it is long but not that wide. It's perfect! Love everything about this! ... show more
