I have two of these tables. One is perfect for using my cutting mat or sewing. My cutting mat is Sullivan's (grid lines = 32" x 56", plus edges of 1 1/2" on short sides and 1 3/4" on long sides), and fits to the edge of the table in depth; it covers almost the entire length except for 3/4" on one end. (Amazon sells this cutting mat.) It is difficult to find a sturdy table that can fit this size cutting mat! There is plenty of space under the table to fit four plastic storage bins with fabric. And I have a five drawer mobile cabinet that fits under as well. The Topsky's cabinet holds my sewing notions: needles, trims, buttons, scissors, etc. (Amazon sells this Topsky's cabinet.) I also use this table with the cutting mat for my cardstock hobby and doing posters. Because my kitchen is small I can also use this table as a food preparation area when I do a lot of cooking. I love the mega tough surface! It is very scratch resistant. The table is a beautiful blend of different gray colors. The first of these tables that I purchased, I use for a desk and Bible study table. I prefer a table that has plenty of room for all my books and papers and this table is just perfect for that. ... show more

This table is nice for those on a budget. It fits in my smaller dining area. It is not real wood and does have that melamine / fake feel to it. It is heavy and sturdy. I decided to purchase chairs from a different Ashley collection and feel they dress up the table a bit. I had purchased the bench with the table, but did not care for it. It seemed small and childish, especially with the table being on the smaller side. The table seems like it will last a long time. We played cards on it and had no issues with scratching or marking. I really hate buying new furniture because it is not made well and made out of sub par materials. But I was in a time crunch and needed something for my kitchen immediately. Paid $249.00. Love the color, I just don't care for what it is made out of. I prefer REAL wood. I would have faired better at an antique store or consignment shop, local tag sale or Face Book market place and paid a LOT less for a kitchen table, but I didn't have the time or the ability to move it either. I love this table. Its sturdy, easy to put together and looks so nice. It did run late and when I went to Amazon to get a promotional credit, the person on chat, wouldn't give it to me because he said it was originally supposed to be delivered on the 24th but then we changed it to the 26th.
