Initially I was hesitant to purchase these simply because of the price. I'm sure if you've looked elsewhere you've seen that similar stools are priced significantly higher. I was initially going to dock a star for the tops of the stools only, but when you look at the quality of product you're receiving for the price, the benefits FAR exceed any cons. These are a great bargain for the price. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. Dimensions: - Stool top: 15" diameter - Height range: 19.5" - 24.5" The good: - The price can't be beat - Although fake wood, the tops look unique (see pictures) - The swivel function works well without any squeaking - The metal is well constructed and doesn't feel cheap at all The bad: - The top is not actual wood (fake laminate) - At the maximum height the stool is a little shaky, but nothing that limits functionality Overall impression: I would buy these again in a heart beat ... show more

    • Love the design
Love the design. So far they seem great for the price paid fro the set of two. They are double the price plus shipping at local Ashley Furniture Store. The top seating surface is not of great quality, but I bought with the idea of upholstering the seat in leather when they wear out or fail as people have claimed. They seem sturdy enough and were relatively easy to assemble no thanks to the instructions. Is best to put all the parts together loosely and then tighten all the screws enough but not over torque them. They seem like they may strip. Overall I like them and they look great in my new kitchen. Maybe not comfortable to seat for hours on end but casual eating, etc. Maybe once upholstered and cushioned they would be more comfy. ... show more

    • OK for the money, frustrating to assemble
Once assembled, they look good, though I'm a bit afraid that the finish on the metal is easily rubbed off with minor scratching and might not hold up -- so far so good, though. Both the seats and the stools themselves wobble a bit when no one is sitting on them, but they are fine for actual sitting. Plan to assemble them at a time you can curse loudly. The process is simple to understand, but things don't line up terribly well, and you'll be undoing past work and doing a lot of forcing things to line up. Do yourself a favor and switch the instructions to attach the two rings before attaching at least most of the legs to the base. It's easier to get the holes to align at the base than on the rings. ... show more

First off…. If you’re looking for an island kitchen height that is what I got however , I’ve got them all the way up as high as they will go and they’re barely tall enough so , I would get the pub style and lower them. Was very easy to assemble very sturdy and strong however it’s not the most comfortable store so if you plan on sitting on it for a long time you’re better off getting a saddle stool that’s the one with the dip in the middle I got the smooth surface because I had read reviews that their natural was rough and possibly splintering Smooth is perfect it’s not really wood it’s like a manufactured time material feels like wood. Looks like wood could partially be wood either way great for the price! ... show more

    • Update after a little more use... Don't waste your money.
Original review: These are gorgeous! I love the look! We ordered 4 stools and two of them are not level. The seats tilt. We have done everything we know to try getting them to be straight with no luck. :-( Update after more use: These are absolute crap. We barely sat on them the first three months we had them. Now that we're working from home more often and using the stools more, their quality is atrocious. We've been working from home for ~3 weeks now, and two of our four stools have broken. The brackets holding the seat on just snapped off and now the tops don't turn at all, which means they don't move up or down in height. It's not like we're spinning around on them obnoxiously. We literally turn them to adjust the height, or get on/off the stool. Pretty pissed to have spent so much money on stools that broke essentially after two weeks of use. ... show more

    • Takes a while to set these up
We used a drill to tighten most of the bolts as the allen type wrench was slow going on setup of our 6 stools. Also, the wrenches supplied did not have strong enough metal as they tended to round off after using them for a while. They do look great and are good quality stools. Be careful not to tighten anything completely before all the parts are assembled! We had to loosen one stool as nothing fit once they bolts were tightened.     • Don’t waste your time or money!
I decided to wait before leaving a review and after owning these for a year, I can say that they are garbage. Putting them together was extremely difficult because holes didn’t line up and I can tell you that if you aren’t able to screw in every screw this stool will fall apart. The plate that you screw into the frame was bent and crooked. It won’t be able to support the weight overtime and I’m talking about 90 lbs or less children cause the seat to tip and move. I can put together anything so this was not due to user error. I purchased 4 of these and within 5 months, two weren’t usable unless you’re okay with the seat tipping backwards. The wooden seat has screws that are way too short to support weight overtime. I love the look of the chair but the manufacturer dropped the ball in many ways. Seats are adjustable which is a plus but after a couple of months, one stop adjusting and is stuck. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re only going to use occasionally. In my house, the kids use these stools daily. They are wobbly and the feet aren’t level also. ... show more
