We bought two of these Ashley power reclining sofas for our small home theater over a year ago. They get a workout daily and have performed flawlessly. They really are designed and built well mechanically and electronically without cutting corners. I’m an engineer and I don’t get impressed easily. I love that each of the three seat backs can be easily released and removed from the base making it much easier for two strong people to move it - in our case up the stairs and when I later added an elevated base for the rear sofa. The two slotted Qi wireless phone chargers in each sofa’s armrests work great without overheating the smartphones like the one in our car always does. The phone charger slot liner lifts out for easy cleaning - I wish our car had that feature. Lastly, each armrest opens up to reveal a deep storage compartment. It’s a good place to stow those gaming and TV remotes. When the center seat isn’t occupied, its seat back easily converts to a flip-down flat “table” with two good sized cup holders. The center headrest lifts up to reveal two built-in, down-facing LED lamps each with its own touch-sensitive control that cycles between low, high, and off. The left and right seat positions are push button controlled recliners that can be set to nearly any angle - all the way to flat if you’re so inclined (ha-ha!). The headrest is also push button controlled and I use it to help lift my head up and forward with the seat nearly fully reclined. It makes for a weirdly comfortable position to watch the big game and to easily doze off if it turns into a blowout. Lastly, the seats are slightly firm but not overly so. The faux leather surfaces clean up easily and seem durable enough. The sides aren’t as durable and wont take the same level of abuse as the seats so keep the rug rats’ sharp toys away. All in all, these sofas are certainly expensive, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for. ... show more

We LOVE this sofa! We had seen it at a store, but the price was horrific. I can't believe I found the exact same thing on Amazon! We were worried about installation, but if was actually a snap. The hardest thing to deal with was the weight. Initially we thought the power cord didn't come with it, but not to worry it was zip-tied to the bottom of the sofa. We plugged that in, then put each back section where they belonged. They just slip onto metal brackets, and then you connect the little power cords. Voila! The sofa has phone chargers, cup holders in the middle section along with lights that you just touch to make them come on...with different brightness levels. Also a pocket for things like magazines or whatnot. On top of all of that, it has power reclining for your feet and head rests, USB ports, and plenty of arm storage (TV remotes, kleenex, etc.). Highly, highly recommend this sofa! Did I mention how much money we saved over the retailer? Over $1500!!! Oh, one more thing, the fabric is nearly indestructible. You can take a key and scratch the fabric and not even see it, so it's perfect for our large dog to join us. Yes...this is a BUY! ... show more

UPDATE: We've had this chair approx 3 mons now the only thing I can say about it is I WISHED I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS YEARS AGO!! THE MOST COMFORTABLE PIECE OF FURNITURE IN OUR ENTIRE HOME, TAKING NAPS, NO SORE NECK OR HIPS... WIFE's LONG LEGS NO MORE FALLING ASLEEP [NUMBING] ... I WISHED THE CONTROLLS HAD A MEMORY TO THEM... NO COMPLAINTS FROM US!! Just got it-can't wait to plug it all in, and use it. It came a week earlier than planned. Meaning, 10x14 area rug coming Monday, and now I'm gonna need to get help to carry it onto the rug [I guess that is a GOOD complaint] ... waiting for the Misses to help plugging it in.... So far it looks and feels awesome, plus it doesn't "sink in" when I sit on it.... UPDATE 4/15/25: WOWZIERS.... this MUSt be the best recliner ever built/made!!!! Me: 5'8" 200lbs [used to be 432lbs] fits in this, plenty of room, neck support, etc The Misses: 5'10" & 36 inch legs.... this is why I bought this because of her LONG LEGGS... always hanging over the foot rest [plus me a little] legs tuning numb... totally uncomfortable! This has the leg extension [it moves out as you recline back [about 6 inches] & goes pretty flat! This with the headrest that is powered up [not a mechanical adjuster] and tucks under your head, makes watching TV nice or just sitting there. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO HAS LONG LEGS, OR SHORT LIKE ME & THEY HANG OFF THE EDGE... watch the two videos, which helped me settle on these.... Delivery communication is a nightmare. I will never buy a large item from Amazon again. Their delivery partner RXO does not communicate with the customer. Their AI answering service is hopeless and so its Amazon customer service. Until now, I have been given 3 delivery dates, and they have not shown up. Missed work and they give a 12-hour window for deliveries that it is not customer-centered. Where is my sofa??? ... show more

    • Love the Couch — Delivery Experience Not So Much

The Signature Design by Ashley Next‑Gen Durapella Power Reclining Sofa itself is fantastic — comfortable, supportive, and a great value, especially with the Black Friday pricing. The Durapella fabric feels soft but durable, and the power reclining is smooth and quiet. Once the sofas were finally in the house, we were thrilled with the quality. The delivery experience, however, was a completely different story. When we placed the order, we selected a delivery date in January 2026. Despite that, we received a text saying the couches would be delivered in early December — while we were out of the country. After hours on the phone with Amazon customer service, we were told the date couldn’t be changed and that the sofas would simply be left on the porch. We eventually contacted the third‑party delivery company directly, but they kept referring us back to Amazon, saying only Amazon could change the date. After more back‑and‑forth, they finally escalated the issue and agreed to delay delivery until we returned. Then came another hurdle: they insisted we had only paid for curbside delivery. It took another round of calls and sending them our invoice showing “threshold delivery” before they agreed to bring the couches inside. To their credit, once everything was sorted out, the delivery team followed through exactly as promised. All in all, we love the couches and are very happy with the product itself. If you can stomach a potentially frustrating delivery process, the savings and the quality of the sofa may still be worth it. ... show more

LOVE THIS SOFA! Arrived the day after ETA, shipping box was in fair condition, no damage to sofa except one small wiring clip (retainer ?) was broken, doesn't affect the functionality everything thing works perfectly fine. Contrary to what Rufus told me, I did not receive a call to schedule delivery appt, nor was there an imminent delivery call or text, which I dont mind because I was home when it arrived. Easy to assemble, basically plug & play. Material feels durable yet soft to the touch. Firm padding but soooo comfortable once you hit that zero g spot. I would recommend others to buy Ashley furniture through Amazon to save enough money to buy two couches for the price of one from the store, like I did 😁👍 ... show more

I love almost everything about this couch so if I don't mention something specific that's because it's not a problem. As mentioned in many reviews, it is a bit on the firm side but the older I get the more I find that type of thing is better for my back problems. I switched to a firmer bed years ago and found the same benefit. On top of that, I tested a used floor model at my local furniture store before deciding to buy mine and it will soften up eventually. I only have two negatives to say about the couch and it's just nitpicking at this point: 1. The wireless chargers aren't very good. I have to use a specific case for mounting my phone on my motorcycle which works just fine with most of my other wireless chargers but not with these ones. The charge gets interrupted so often that it barely charges when I have the case on. They work okay without the case and may work fine with thinner cases made of soft plastics but all my other wireless chargers are faster. They also have the same draw back that most wireless charges have where you can't really use your phone while it's charging so I only ever use them when watching movies. 2. If you have cats that claw this type of material then it will show very quickly. My cats don't claw this couch for pleasure like they did my old couch made of standard fabrics but they have dug in a few times when startled and jumping on/off the couch. I can clearly see the holes they have left on the arm rest they prefer to sit. ... show more
