Love these for Home Assistant. I bought this to replace the soon-to-be-defunct WeMo wall switch I was using. Hub was easy to install and adopt into the app. The switch connected easily after wiring up (also easy to do). WOrk like a charm in HA with automations. These look just like all the other white decora-style switches. Wish they had a regular Zigbee switch so it didn't have to talk to a remote (international?) server, but that said I like this and it works perfectly for me. ... show more

Just a great way to have remote-controlled lights. This was the most involved DIY project I've ever undertaken (I'm not very handy). But I was able to figure it out without much trouble. Changing a light switch isn't as easy as plugging into a USB port, but as long as you remember to turn off the circuit breaker then you're not going to damage anything. I'd say go for it. And once you have it installed, it's just really great to have. The feeling of sitting on the couch and turning off lights with your voice (I use Google Home) is just sublime. Same goes for when you climb into bed and tell Google to "turn off everything". This was my first step into a smart home and it's encouraged me to continue down the path. ... show more

Pretty straight forward. Only annoyance was my light switch box which took a bit of effort to organize the wires to fit everything in correctly, since this thing is bulkier than a standard light switch, but that was to be expected. 1. Fixed the light switch in place 2. Plugged in the hub directly to USB power source rather than using the supplied adapter (it only requires 0.5 a anyways). Connected the ethernet cable between the hub and my router. 3. Loaded the Lutron Caséta integration in home-assistant and it detected the hub (I hadn't paired the switch to the hub or even setup my luton account at this point :)) 4. Loaded the Lutron app, paired/added the switch, reloaded the Lutron Caséta integration and voila the switch is in home-assistant. 5. Configured the switch to my whims and fancies. Anyone else planning a similar setup, well, it works without any issues. ... show more

I bought this to replace an old X10 remote system that I was using to turn on my outdoor light from inside my car. It had been programmed to use my car’s built-in garage door remote to turn on my front door light. Installing the smart light switch was easier than I’d hoped it would be. Then you only have to create a Lutron Home account to use it. The setup in iOS using the Lutron app and Apple HomeKit integration made it very easy to allow me to use Siri commands through both my Apple Watch and iPhone. I thought I’d miss the convenience of my car’s built-in remote to turn on my outdoor lights, when I arrived home after dark. This is even easier and way more secure. One thing I wasn’t expecting: If your car supports Apple CarPlay, you can use Siri right through your car’s steering wheel voice command button. I’ve been using it to tell Siri to turn on my outside lights. It’s way easier to do that, than my old method of using the programed garage door remote built into my car’s rear-view mirror. The limited transmitter range meant that it only worked when you were already in the driveway. This can do it from the other side of the world, if necessary and I don’t have to worry about someone stealing the codes from the remote to break into my home. ... show more
