    • Great couch, good for sleeping, soft fabric
We bought this couch for our studio apartment a few months ago, and so far we love it. The color is a nice, calm green -- not too bright. And the fabric is great, too: it's soft, but still very resistant to things like crumbs and liquid. We eat a lot on our couch, and it's super easy to just sweep any crumbs or debris off the cushions. The cushion padding is also good -- I feel like it supports both of us very well, without sinking in. It's nice and wide, and the arms are rounded and cushioned, which makes it perfect for napping. Our friend visited us and slept on this couch for a week, and he had zero complaints -- it's even reasonably comfortable to sleep on it without a pillow. We live in a studio apartment, and we were initially worried the couch would take up too much room, but it doesn't feel cramped in our space at all. And we have not attached the feet (because we don't have the power drill we apparently need to do it) so the couch sits just a little lower for that reason. The only thing I wish is that ALL the cushions were detachable. But that's really my only complaint. Overall it's been a fantastic first couch for us, very comfy, and it looks very classy and inviting in our living room. Some notes about delivery: I would recommend that if you buy this, you schedule a delivery time when you and a partner can move it into your place TOGETHER. Ours was delivered while I was at work, and the moving guy would not offer to help carry it up the stairs, so my boyfriend had to rely on the kindness of a stranger in our building to help him carry it. Also: I was initially worried about fitting this thing through our narrow doorway (approx. 31.5 inches wide) but it ended up fitting through the doorway NO PROBLEM, still folded up inside its packaging.     • Excellent Value and Comfortable Sofa
I ordered this sofa and its companion loveseat after quite a bit of research. I was looking for something in this price range that had good reviews (not just in Amazon) and something that would stand up to both people and dogs with slip covers on the cushions. I am pleasantly surprised by this sofa. The back and sidearms are very comfortable and you just sink into them. The seat cushions are firm but comfortable. I suspect that the cushions will soften up over time. I really like the blue color. It's almost teal in the light of my living room. Looks great with gray painted walls.     • FOUR STARS—BUT Inspect Before You Sign!!
We love the new sofa, Signature Design by Ashley (dark gray.) We had a few major kinks in the buying process, but we’re now happy with our purchase. I really like the design. Love the deep gray color—there’s a hint of deep blue in it (see pics), making a subtle, dark blue-gray (not a brown-gray) that creates an elegant, inviting space to seat two adults comfortably. When the FIRST sofa came, it was terribly damaged. The fabric underneath, which hides the inner parts, was ripped clean away from half of the underside. From inside the sofa, there was a large plank of solid wood sticking out about 1 foot from frame underneath!! For some reason the 2x6 plank of wood is allegedly meant to be there, but it was screwed into the sofa frame, with half the plank sticking out, so clearly it was in the wrong place. We couldn’t even sit on our new couch. Amazon made this 100% right for us. They arranged pickup of the damaged one; If we had inspected it BEFORE signing the form and letting them leave, they’d have taken it back with them. We didn’t inspect, so we had to wait for a total of 4 weeks for a decent place to sit. Amazon was awesome about the refund, issuing $$ back to our bank in less than 3 days. No hassles, very helpful. The replacement is really nice. This sofa is gorgeous. It seats only two adults comfortably; we had expected it to easily seat 3, so that’s too bad. Fabric is fine, though I wish it did not show swipe marks, like vacuum cleaners do on carpet. The cushions are semi-firm and super comfy. It’s a ‘unisex’ piece, would fit right in with either masculine or feminine decor. It was a great buy at first. The first one was around $400 on a huge sale. But I had to return the first, then buy the new one, and by then the Sale had ended. I had to pay an extra $140 for the very same sofa. :( We were unhappy at first, and we had no place to sit for 3 weeks, til the replacement came. Still, Amazon did its very best. I do wish the material were more natural-fiber, soft and strong. This one is okay though. Soft, comfy, pretty. DO NOT SIGN the delivery notice until you fully inspect the sofa!! That way you can return it on the spot if needed. In the Product Reviews, this same random wood plank and the large fabric tear are mentioned several times! Not sure how/why such a bad mistake keeps happening with this specific sofa. ... show more

    • Looks great, cheaply made....
I bought my first Ashley sofa and love seat 19 years ago. As much as I loved my old living room set, it was time for new. I had been looking at this on the Ashley website, but the 'stone' color set was always sold out. After several months, I decided to buy both separately off Amazon to create my set. Here is the truth: they look great! Style is very modern, clean, I love that the back pillows are attached. The stone color is perfect. Not too TAN, not too CREAM. Perfect neutral. My biggest concern is the quality. It feels cheap.....My son has a 15 year old friend who is 6'4 and about 220 lbs. I thought he was going to break it by sitting on it. Luckily he didn't! The overall construction has flimsy wood covered in fabric with no padding. I feel like at any minute, if you sit on the arm or the back of the sofa (I have an open floor plan, couch does not sit against the wall) it's going to break. In six months, this fabric is going to wear through on the wood underneath with no padding. I take my knee to scoot the seat cushions back in place, and hit a piece of unpadded wood (ouch!!) The seat cushions are NOT reversible, and the foam is not comfortable. In six weeks, it has already 'squished' down about 1/2 " and lost it's height. Overall, I wish I could find the Ashley set I bought 19 years ago, but I guess they just don't make them like they use to. This won't last..... Revised 1/16/2020. So, less than one year later and this couch has a big gapping hole on the back from where the thin wooden boards have broken and the fabric ripped all the way up the back. If I sit on the couch, I fall into the hole and against the wall I have it up against now. I knew it wouldn't last, but it doesn't even last 9 months. ... show more

Great couch! We had the matching love seat, chair and ottoman from 10+ years ago and wanted to have the full size couch to match. I was nervouc that the colors would not match perfectly but they do. This is my first time ordering a large piece of furniture off of amazon and we were weary. I read almost all of the reviews before committing to purchase and I'm very glad I followed through. The couch is very comfortable, definitely a little stiff at first but after a few sit downs it starts to break in. The legs are located under one of the cushions and there is a tag telling you so. The legs are plastic, the legs on our old couches of this style are wood, but you can't tell the difference at all. I would never notice that they are plastic once they are place on the couch. The back cushions are not removable which I love, they don't move around and take different shapes. The seat cushions can be removed by velcro. The material is kind of like a micro fiber. It doesn't feel quite as thick as the older models but is soft and comfortable. For the price, you can't beat this deal. Delivery was fine. They don't bring the couch into the house (which I read in other reviews) so just be prepared when they arrive to have someone to help you bring it inside. Overall, we're SO happy with this couch and glad we took a risk to order online! ... show more

Pretty comfy, a little too firm. Nice looking. But.. I gave this a 3 rating because the cushions slip. I tried putting a ‘command’ velcro strip. Did not hold them in place. Will try a drawer/cabinet vinyl shelf liner. Also the back pillows are not removable and the sitting cushions are not reversible. But a great deal for the cost. ... show more

    • Pleased and pleasantly surprised
The couch just arrived this morning. It's very nice to sit on. The cushions are springy -- not too firm, not too mushy. My 6'2" hubby can lay down comfortably. The upholstery is soft. I chose microfiber specifically, because we have pets and microfiber is easy to clean. The mocha color seems true to the photo. Just a tip -- the feet were under a cushion in a bag with screws and directions for installation. The feet are plastic, but seem sturdy. Two of the feet didn't want to stay flush with the frame during installation, but once the sofa was upright, the weight from people sitting on the couch quickly fixed this. We think the liner underneath got tangled around the screw thread, which prevented the feet from laying flat. As I said, this is now rectified. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase. We were nervous about buying furniture online, but we knew the Ashley brand was of good quality, and we were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the scheduled delivery experience went. ... show more
