  • I'm genuinely disappointed that this chair exists.
The photos of this product don't make it clear, but the round base has no bottom. The hydraulic piston which raises/lowers the chair has a rod which extends through the base directly onto the floor. There are three major flaws with this design, which make it worse than having no chair at all: 1) You are basically sitting on this rod like it's a one-legged stool. (See photos.) This is highly unstable even at its lowest adjustment height. (See photos.) 2) There is no positive connection between the raise/lower piston and the base, it simply rests on and passes through the base, with a plastic collar around it. This offers some horizontal stability, but zero rotational stability. The base contributes very little overall, and even when resting the chair tends to lean over (it's only really balancing on a 1/4'' rod after all) and raise the base up a bit. (See photos.) 3) The metal rod, which for practical purposes constitutes the entirety of the chair's contact with the floor, is a metal rod! So every time you sit, swivel, get up, or move the chair--your floor is getting marred, scratched, and bored into by this metal rod with the chair's weight plus your own focused into its small contact area with your floor. (See photos.) I recognized this immediately, thinking there must be some sort of way the base captures the end of this rod so it doesn't contact the floor, so I initially set the chair upright on a couple layers of cardboard to save the floor. (See photos.) Nope, that's how it works. (See photos.) This rod stays in direct contact with the floor and bears the entire weight of the chair and sitter. (See photos.) I regret trusting this chair enough to finish assembling it. Now to take it apart and return it. ... show more

  • Loved at first... COVID + 2 years and it's junk now
Loved how this looked at first. I was able to set it at a height to match my standing desk. Trouble began a few years in. 1 - padding compressed - no longer comfortable 2 - edges began to wear 3 - squeaking - I can no longer use it on Zoom calls... people hear massive squeaking every time I move. I lubricated once but did not last long and remnants drip to the floor 4 - on a client call and the foot rest broke clean off at the welds. Just bought a chair with great reviews to replace this for the same $$ ... show more

  • Came chipped, instructions don't say to remove plastic piece
The seat back came damaged, and as some of the other reviewers have noted, the stool won't go up and down like it should unless you remove the black piece of plastic on the rod, which is a pain in the ass to do, and isn't written anywhere in the assembly instructions. I'm sure there's better value for money out there. ... show more

  • cute and sturdy, recommend
Had to do a bit of engineering to put it together as one of the pieces was a bit weird, but otherwise I am a fan. Looks high quality and feels comfortable. My parents both loved it so much they want this same stool for their house.

  • Incorrect & Missing instructions
The plastic cap was supposed to be removed before assembly. I was not able to use the chair for 2 days since it won't go up or down!! The included instructions sheet never mentioned to remove the plastic cover and then plastic cover got stuck. It was a pain to disassemble and then remove the cover then assemble back. ... show more

  • Great price compared to other sites.
Love these bar stools. They are comfortable and well built. The foot rests are positioned nicely and the bottom of the chairs have a rubber ring so you don't have to worry about scratching your floors.

  • Neat looking, but not comfortable
We're fairly easy to put together. However once together they were not comfortable, the lower back piece offers no support, too small.

  • Not as comfortable as I had hoped.
The chair is adequate for my set up at work but the seat is slippery and the foot stand sits back a little too far.
