Description

The new MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 allows you to use your SIGMA SA mount interchangeable lenses with the Sony E-mount camera body. Until now, the market has seen the introduction of many methods for using lenses from one camera system with a body from a different system. In the digital age, however, camera systems have become much more complex, and it is challenging to create a mount converter that aligns both the mechanics and software of the lens and body. Creating a converter that matches lenses for current DSLRs to bodies for mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera systems is even more challenging. Now the market demands a converter that goes beyond simply aligning the flange back distance to retaining full functionality. MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 incorporates the digital data necessary to provide fast and smooth AF for compatible lenses as well as OS features and functions of the camera that help control peripheral brightness and correct transverse chromatic aberration, distortion, and more. In addition, since Sony E-mount camera bodies do not require mechanical integration with lenses for aperture control, the MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 makes SIGMA SA mount interchangeable lenses fully compatible with the automatic exposure control of Sony E-mount camera bodies. MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 is ideal for professional photographers who use different camera systems depending on the subject, as well as amateur photographers who enjoy using a variety of camera systems. Increasing the compatibility of lenses with different camera systems makes these assets more valuable than ever. In addition, users of Sony E-mount camera bodies will enjoy an immediate increase in the number of lenses available to them. Compatibility:Cameras - Sony a7-series, a6000-series, a5000-series, and NEX- series mirrorless camera bodies.

  • Works like a charm!
Style: for Global Vision products with Sigma le...
You can read and research until you're blue in the face (I did). Simple problem: I wanted to be able to use my Canon lenses with my Sony A7 ii. There are more expensive options for mount converters and a lot of complicated opinions. Simple solution: The Sigma MC-11 mounts perfectly to the Sony A7 ii and my Canon lenses connect perfectly. I have not noticed any lag or difference in warmth, tone, auto focus or anything else that matters to me while I'm shooting. I have a Sony lens and am able to compare both the actual use and outcome side by side. Rest assured this mount converter works. ... show more

  • Didn't work with my Canon lenses
Style: for Global Vision products with Sigma le...
Many others have said that this would work with their Canon EF mount lenses. It did not fit my 28mm, 50mm, or my 70-200mm f4. The bayonets on the canon mounts are squared off, however the sigma receiver mounts are rounded, so they won't fit. The product seems very well made, it just won't suit my purposes. I'm returning for a refund. ... show more

  • Electronics do not work
Style: for Global Vision products with Sigma le...
I have mixed feelings about my purchase. It appears Sigma is discontinuing the MC-11 mount converter and support for their SA mounting system. I bought into Sigma camera bodies and lenses years ago and have about $6K worth of Sigma lenses in my kit. The Sigma bodies have exclusively used the SA mounting system since the SD-14. This makes it impossible for using any other kind of lens on a Sigma body. Sigma has converted to a "Leica-like L mount" system and is phasing out the SA mount system. Sigma Foveon sensor bodies are great studio cameras. All the competing camera systems struggle to get the colors I get from my Sigma bodies. However, the big drawback is, Sigma bodies do not get along well with low light situations. You shoot at an ISO of 100 or you might not get a picture worth having at all. Thus the MC-11 converter; I need one to connect my Sigma lenses with the Sony E mount camera I use as a "walk around" camera. Ordered this converter and it arrived on time as advertised. It mounts fine with on my Sony E mount body and Sigma SA mount lenses. But the electronics appear to be "dead". The indicator light does not light when I turn on the camera. The auto-focus and aperture diaphragm do not trigger when I press the shutter. The firmware lens control software, Sigma Optimization Pro, does not see the MC-11 converter. There have been complaints in the reviews about "gray market" converters circulating around. Did I get one of these inadvertently? Hard to tell, camera manufacturers will not tell us. I can still get a good picture through the adapter/converter. I just have to use manual focus and shoot with the aperture wide open. Sony's superior ISO capability steps in to give me usable picture so I won't send it back, but I am disappointed. ... show more

  • Perfect fit for all my Sigma SA-mount lenses to Sony E-mount FX3

Secure fit and works great with aperture control and quick auto-focus, mating my Sigma SA-mount lenses: 20mm f/1.4 ART, and 35mm f/1.4 ART, with the new Sony FX3 cine camera. Purchased Amazon refurb, too! Cheap!

  • Worth it if you've got newer Sigma EF glass
Style: for Global Vision products with Sigma le...
Using this exclusively with my a7SII for photos and video. I doubted its ability to auto focus from having used the Fotodiox adapter for over a year that was only good for allowing me to connect my EF lenses and adjust aperture. This adapter works very well with my Sigma Art f4 24-105mm EF lens with auto focus in AF-S and AF-C(sometimes) with photos. Low light situations challenge the adapter and lens, but quickly switching to MF on the lens allows me to use the camera's automatic zoom in function when focusing. That's hugely beneficial when trying to get that critical focus in low light. Sometimes you can lock-AF which has been useful at times too. Something I could never have done with Fotodiox. For video it's hit and miss. It works continually but it is SLOW and quite noisy with my specific lens that clicks away as it works to keep focus of whatever it thinks should be in focus. I have used the a7SII + the Sigma lens for video and it worked okay. I have zero experience with any other auto focusing EF lenses so I can't speak to them along with this adapter. All I know is that Sigma Art series lenses are well worth the money if you don't intend to shoot in the outdoors all the time. And adapted to Sony's mirrorless bodies they make for a great pair for 40-60% of the price for full-frame E-mount lenses. I'm still looking to get Sony's trinity of their G Master series though - they're absolutely stunning. ... show more

  • Works great on my a7rii
Style: for Global Vision products with Sigma le...
Works great on my a7rii. I have full focusing options with my Sigma Art Lenses. The autofocus is okay a tad slow but, not a big deal. You can update the firmware of the converter using the supplied usb and using the sigma software without having to buy the dock. I wouldn't even buy the dock as my Art lenses came shipped with the latest firmware. If you're attaching any non Sigma Art or other lens that's not compatible on their list (check their website) Many of the sony focusing options are disabled with only single point AF and continuous AF available. The AF is a bit slower with none compatible lens and focus hunts frequently (I tend to just switch to manual most of the time with my older sigma apo hsm ex 70-200 since focus peaking is still available). So far i'm happy with it and i wish Sigma would make some of their older lenses compatible. But, their compatible art lens are snappy and works just a good as native sony lenses. ... show more
