For some reason I cannot find any third party full frame RF lenses with AF, only for APS-C. This is the version for the latest R series cameras that not only provides access to the plethora of powerful OEM and third party full frame EF lenses, but also has a control ring like native R lenses for extra functionality like shortcut to changing aperture. I saw some expert YT reviews that said they tried this adapter out and successfully gives their EF lenses a second, and partly even better life. Note that there are numerous third party adapters of this kind on the market for literally a third of the price, but given the importance of this adapter working properly I rather spend the extra money to get max quality - plus, the less expensive versions may or may not have the control ring. I can't wait to try out and buy top EF lenses that would otherwise be out of reach looking at Canon's high RF full frame lens prices they try everyone to buy.

Nice adapter. Now I can save money on lenses without sacrificing too much if any quality. It's not that noticeable but looks good. It fits on camera perfect. The control ring is placed a little odd but still useful. I like to assign ISO to it. Saves time and money what more could you ask for?

I’ve been using the Canon EOS to RF lens converter (EF-EOS R Mount Adapter) for a several months now, and it’s been an absolute blessing. As someone with a collection of high-quality EF glass, I wasn’t ready to part with my lenses when upgrading to a mirrorless camera (and I mean buying all new mirrorless lenses to replace them would be pretty pricy). This adapter made it so I didn’t have to!! The adapter works seamlessly. There’s no noticeable loss in image quality, autofocus remains fast and accurate, and all lens functions seem to carry right over . Using the old lenses on an mirrorless is actually a bit of an unexpected treat with the advanced functions of the newer camera. The only con I have is that it adds a bit of length to the build but otherwise totally worth the reasonable price.

This is a well built, well fitting, well made adapter so you can use cheaper lenses. It weighs nothings and works with RF mount. Compatible with EF and EFs lenses. Was tempted to buy third party ones but thankfully I stuck to the canon. Would recommend

It arrived in perfect condition. It is a quality Canon product, that is made of metal instead of some cheap feeling plastic that some 3rd party clones use, and feels quite beefy. It seats firmly on both the camera mount side, and on the lens mount side. ALL of my EF Canon L series lenses and Sigma Art lenses, work flawlessly. The focus is fast, and tack sharp. The integrated control ring works fine. When turning it, it is detented in function. So you feel each little click as it turns. I have programed it via the camera menu to function as an ISO adjustment, and as an exposure compensation adjustment.

I bought this lens adapter so that I could use EF lens like the 135mm f/2L with my EOS RP. The build quality is excellent and everything works as advertised, BUT... (1) The control ring somehow "remembers" what value it was set to, so if you switch between this and a native RF lens, you can get jarring and unexpected changes in your camera settings. You might think this is a feature, but for me it was a bug. I used the control ring (on the adapter and on RF lenses) for manual ISO control and is was very disorienting to switch lenses and have the camera jump to a completely different ISO value (left over from some previous project). BEWARE! I expected the current value for the control ring setting to "belong" to the camera, but apparently it belongs to the lens (adapter). (2) Canon made a big ergonomic blunder when they designed this adapter. First they created the new RF lenses and said "Hey, let's add a new control ring! Guess we better put in front of the zoom and focus rings, so we don't confuse anybody..." Then, some junior engineer got the assignment to create an adapter for the old EF lenses. Of course, the only place he could put the control ring was on the adapter itself -- at the very back of the lens. So, here we have an absolutely lovely adapter with this whiz-bang control ring that is in the COMPLETELY OPPOSITE location from the new RF lenses. Sigh! In hindsight, they should have put the control ring on the back of the RF lenses rather than on the front. Then it would consistent. Wouldn't that have been nice?
