A must have to keep using your old glass
I’ve been using the Canon EOS to RF lens converter (EF-EOS R Mount Adapter) for a several months now, and it’s been an absolute blessing. As someone with a collection of high-quality EF glass, I wasn’t ready to part with my lenses when upgrading to a mirrorless camera (and I mean buying all new mirrorless lenses to replace them would be pretty pricy). This adapter made it so I didn’t have to!! The adapter works seamlessly. There’s no noticeable loss in image quality, autofocus remains fast and accurate, and all lens functions seem to carry right over . Using the old lenses on an mirrorless is actually a bit of an unexpected treat with the advanced functions of the newer camera. The only con I have is that it adds a bit of length to the build but otherwise totally worth the reasonable price.

IMO control ring not needed, this version suffices and is excellent
Not much to say, it's a great adapter for older EF lenses. I did not need the control ring version because all functions on the r6 mk3 are at your fingertips.

A no-brainer if you have EF lenses that are worth keeping and an R body
This does exactly what it is supposed to. It adds a little length to the lens, but it's not bad and actually looks fine, nothing awkward. I am using it with an R6 Mark 2 and this also lets it recognize my old lenses, which is really nice since this lets you use the auto-lens correction even for the old lens. I opted for the version with the control ring since this "up-levels" the feature set from your old lens to that which you would get with the modern RF system - without the control ring you would miss out on that and I think it is clearly worth the small difference in price. IMHO it is a no-brainer to get this if you switch to an R mount camera and have EF lenses worth keeping.

Works well, might be fine with the basic adapter.
I got this to adapt my older EF lenses to my EOS R6 and R5. And while it works, I am finding that I have no real use for the control ring, as both those cameras have three adjustment wheels instead of the usual 2. My plan was to use the ring for ISO control, but I can just use the third dial on the back of either camera to do so. I set it to use exposure compensation instead, and do not like that I have to be metering in order to adjust it, meaning I have to be holding in the shutter release or BBF or it will do nothing. I know some that use it to switch AF modes, but I find that I can cycle the modes just fine with the multi-button by the shutter. Really, I probably could have saved the money and just got the basic adapter that has no control ring. I will say the build quality is very good, and I don’t notice any kind of loss in AF speed or performance. If anything, all my older lenses, even the third party lenses by Sigma and Tamron, perform at least as well on my R6 and R5 with this adapter, and in the case of the third party lenses, it seems the AF is more accurate than they were on my older DSLR bodies. If you want spot on AF even with adapted lenses, mirrorless is the way to go. But you don’t have to get the control ring adapter for twice the price though if you have an R5 or R6, as they have enough built in controls. You can just use the Basic adapter, unless you really just want that additional control. Same goes for future releases that have at least three adjustment dials on them, like the R3 and R1. Of note, if you have the older R or RP cameras, or the new R7 or R10 APS-C cameras, then the ring is a bit more useful, since they lack the same amount of controls the more expensive cameras have (only 2 adjustment dials). So if you have one of those cameras, or possibly a future release that also lacks additional dial, it might be worth the additional cost. Or if you just want the additional dial that is fine too. It can be programed to use functions other than ISO and EV.

Top quality, must have item for me
For some reason I cannot find any third party full frame RF lenses with AF, only for APS-C. This is the version for the latest R series cameras that not only provides access to the plethora of powerful OEM and third party full frame EF lenses, but also has a control ring like native R lenses for extra functionality like shortcut to changing aperture. I saw some expert YT reviews that said they tried this adapter out and successfully gives their EF lenses a second, and partly even better life. Note that there are numerous third party adapters of this kind on the market for literally a third of the price, but given the importance of this adapter working properly I rather spend the extra money to get max quality - plus, the less expensive versions may or may not have the control ring. I can't wait to try out and buy top EF lenses that would otherwise be out of reach looking at Canon's high RF full frame lens prices they try everyone to buy.

Nice, but...
I bought this lens adapter so that I could use EF lens like the 135mm f/2L with my EOS RP. The build quality is excellent and everything works as advertised, BUT... (1) The control ring somehow "remembers" what value it was set to, so if you switch between this and a native RF lens, you can get jarring and unexpected changes in your camera settings. You might think this is a feature, but for me it was a bug. I used the control ring (on the adapter and on RF lenses) for manual ISO control and is was very disorienting to switch lenses and have the camera jump to a completely different ISO value (left over from some previous project). BEWARE! I expected the current value for the control ring setting to "belong" to the camera, but apparently it belongs to the lens (adapter). (2) Canon made a big ergonomic blunder when they designed this adapter. First they created the new RF lenses and said "Hey, let's add a new control ring! Guess we better put in front of the zoom and focus rings, so we don't confuse anybody..." Then, some junior engineer got the assignment to create an adapter for the old EF lenses. Of course, the only place he could put the control ring was on the adapter itself -- at the very back of the lens. So, here we have an absolutely lovely adapter with this whiz-bang control ring that is in the COMPLETELY OPPOSITE location from the new RF lenses. Sigh! In hindsight, they should have put the control ring on the back of the RF lenses rather than on the front. Then it would consistent. Wouldn't that have been nice?

Love it! It's expensive, but worth it! Just get it!
Love this adapter. I wanted to go out of my way and get the more expensive option for the lens adapter when getting my Canon R5 to use my L series EF lenses. The performance is awesome and the added control ring feature (completely customizable) is AWESOME. I know it's pricey guys, but if you're going to be using EF lenses on your RF mount, just do yourself a favor and get the best quality option so you can at least have the closest thing to an actual RF lens. If it's not necessary for you, I get it, but I have so many friends who use off brand adapters, and it just ruins the performance of the lenses. Not to mention, this adapter looks so DOPE on my R5... it doesn't even feel like I'm using an adapter, it genuinely feels like an extension of my camera! :)
