  • Useful Accessory
Color: 52mm
I use this with a polarizing filter on my new Sony RX 100 vii. It was easy to installl. I was pleased to have found this accessory.

  • Pricey but works fine
Color: 52mm
The media could not be loaded. I installed the 52mm version on my Panasonic Lumix LX10 (This camera is called LX15 outside USA) and works fine, it comes with 2 rings to stick to the camera so that is great because I do have 3 cameras LX10 and with the same money I can use on 2 of them, not at the same time of course. If you install it correctly, you will not get any vignetting in all the range either zoom in or zoom out, watch the video of my review please. The product is on the pricey side but I think is a good investment. Recommended. ... show more

  • Pricy but better than others
Color: 52mm
Not sure if the price is right for what you get. Needs the 2 adhesive mounts cuz you will screw up the first one. Use windex let it dry for 24 hours. Better way to position the ring on the front of the lens. Seems secure on the front of the lens. Much better than the screw mount that comes with the ulanzi lens. The pouch is worthless, should have made it bigger to hold the wide angle lens. This is going on my travel camera. Impulse purchase. ... show more

  • Could have been so cool…
Color: 52mm
Purchased this along with the Ulanzi wide/macro lens for my Sony ZV-1. Loved the idea of being able to quickly snap the lens on/off without having to screw it into the end of the kit lens. Sorry to say I wound up running into some issues. Firstly, let’s talk about the good stuff. The magnetic ring securely sticks to the camera lens. It was easy to mount and I didn’t have any issues with it moving around or coming off (even in warmer temperatures). Secondly, it looks cool as hell. The red adapter matches the highlights of the camera well. Now on to the bad. First, I still had to unscrew the cap on the lens and screw it onto the magnetic adapter instead of onto the camera itself. So I didn’t really save any time there. Secondly, I noticed an immediate vignette when using the full frame. It wasn’t visible whenever you are shooting video with cropped stabilization. However, whenever you turn off stabilization mode it was very evident that there was a slight tunneling effect. It pretty much rendered the picture unusable. Afterwards I removed the magnetic ring and mounted the lens with the mount/adhesive that was provided along with the Ulanzi lens, itself. No more issues. I guess the few extra millimeters that the magnetic adapter added were to blame for the poor result I had with the Magfilter. Therefore, I am returning this item and going to stick with the screw on adapter that came with the Ulanzi. It works just perfectly and has a pretty good aesthetics, itself. ... show more

  • Improves Point and Shoot Camera Capabilities
Color: 52mm
I was happy to finally find such a kit to add filters to my Sony HX10V point and shoot. Now I can shoot in manual mode for longer exposures of flowing water even on on bright days with an ND filter. And I look forward to less haze in mountain views and better sunny water shots with UV and CPL filters. I purchased the 52 mm version. I'm not sure why others are finding the magnet weak. I find it to hold the adapter and my new filters with a solid click, including a variable ND filter with some more bulk to it. It also easily holds a lens cap and hood (not pictured) that came with my filter set, although I doubt I'll use that much. The magnet is not intended as a strong, permanent mount to enable you to throw the camera in your pocket or a camera bag. Keep the adapter and a filter protected and snap it on when needed. The manufacturer uses a 3M brand adhesive for the mounting ring and this gives me confidence it will stay on. I used alcohol on a cotton tip to prepare the camera surface before applying the ring. I didn't realize that 52, 55, and 58 mm sizes all use the same mounting ring and that all would have fit my camera until I encountered a slight issue. The thickness of my variable ND filter body results in vignetting, so I need to zoom in to just 1.1x to get past the corners getting cut off. In the end, I think this will be fine. And it's probably better for me to have the nice compact 52 mm size rather than bulk up the camera too much. The slim, single filters have no issue. There are so many affordable filter bundles available. I chose one that came with UV, CPL and FDL filters and purchased a single variable ND filter for moving water shots. The Vivitar set of 3 came with a case with one extra spot (perfect for my ND filter and the pouch also fits the MagFilter adapter mounted to one of the filters) The pouch that comes with the MagFilter also can fit the adapter with one filter on it. I considered dropping a star for being a bit pricey, but this product provides a solution I've been searching for to really help improve my shots and the quality is good overall. The very compact mag mount is a nice design. So it's worth something. ... show more

  • Great concept, but limited application. Check your camera lens opening with a micrometer first.
Color: 52mm
This is a great way to add standard round filters to a compact camera. Once installed, the adhesive ring does not alter the camera's portability or external dimensions at all; it will be everything it was prior to adding the ring. But you must check your application with a micrometer before you buy. Magfilter make only 2 ring sizes, and therefore the inner dimensions of the adapters are only available in 2 diameters: 28mm and 32mm. Therefore your camera must not require more than 32mm for any of these to not cause corner clipping at wide open. For example, the Canon SX740HS will have clipped corners at full open. Bumping the zoom out a tick will eliminate this, but you do lose some FOV. Keep in mind that when mounted on the camera, the ID of the adapter extends a few millimeters out from the lens, so you have to account for this "tunnel effect" as well. With only the adhesive ring attached and not the magnetic adapter, the SX740HS does not have clipped corners. You do get 2 adhesive rings with the kit, so you can outfit 2 cameras with the same adapter, a nice value. ... show more
