Absolutely love it. If you're looking for the equivalent of a 50mm lens (full-frame), then look no further. It's a very solid lens that gives you a nice, high-quality look.

This would be the best “nifty fifty” lens for Canon EF-M if not for the Canon 32mm f/1.4. This is a great value though. The Canon is noticeably sharper, especially wide open, but the Sigma has faster/snappier autofocus when shooting video (Canon seems to smooth the default autofocus speed on their lens to be more cinematic). In photo mode, they’re both fast and accurate. The Sigma lens is slightly bigger and heavier, but in this compact category it might make a difference to some people. Also, a bigger/heavier lens usually means ND filters will be bigger/heavier as well. The lens build quality feels good, but there is no weather seal (this goes for all M lenses). The focus ring is large and tactile, but the performance of this ring isn’t great (just not as intuitive and responsive as the Canon). So, it’s no surprise the Sigma 30mm is less $ than the Canon 32mm, but I’m not sure the Canon is worth $200 more. You’ll be happy with either of these lenses, but the Sigma may be the best value if you can live with its shortcomings. ... show more
