As a person who isn’t even at novice level yet(lol), it works awesome. Picture quality is magnificent. I like that you can rotate the camera while on a tripod. However, carrying the camera on lens for 4 hours does take a toll on you. I suggest exercising your shoulders, biceps and forearms for strength and endurance (ROLMFAO). All jokes aside, It does get heavy carrying for a period of time (yes, I carried it for 4+ hours)!

This lens will take some getting used to since it is rather heavy, but it is an excellently made product and very much up to the tasks that I will be asking it to do. The photo that I have included was taken from 45 miles away. I am looking forward to taking it with me on my next trip/vacation. And Goja packed the lens and extras perfectly. No damage at all. And judging from the enclosed material, I think that if I should have any problems, they will be very helpful. I will have no hesitation in ordering from them again in the future.

The lens front was covered with the slip on cap, instead of the plastic lens cap provided in the box. Due to this, the brand new lens out of the box came with massive mount of dust on the front element. After cleaning up, I noticed some dust on the inside elements too. Further this is an external zoom lens. It might save you 500$ compared to native Sony 200-600 but the external zoom will always carry the dust and moisture inside. I say this because a brand new lens came with dust inside. The build quality is sturdy though. I returned it due to the dust issue and the external zoom.

I love to take pictures of wildlife - this lens is perfect for me..pictures are terrific…clear with all the details, eyes…feathers…expression…I had to watch various tutorials to make sure this Sigma lens was worth the price…it is an excellent lens…a little heavier than my other lens but the extra range is worth it. I use beanbags or a monopod - but can get birds in flight by holding it up for shorter times…it costs more than all my equipment put together - but so worth it…The quality of my pictures now are stunning! Highly recommend…

I had high hopes for this lens for my new Sony A7iv camera. Focus was fast but not sharp. Bird eye focus not even apparent. A lot of money for mediocre performance. Have had better focus and sharpness from my Sony RX10iv bridge camera on same subjects and location. I returned it the next day under the Amazon return policy. I expect to purchase the Sony 200-600. Worth the price difference. Unfortunately the Sigma lens did not come close to it's advertised performance. I would like to add that the third party seller, Digital Goja, contacted me and went above and beyond to offer assistance. I should have returned it directly to them, since it is now taking Amazon at least 2 weeks to process a return after they receive it. If you purchase camera equipment it would be worth while to see who the shipper will be. Digital Goja is an authorized dealer, so you will not only get excellent service, your warranty will be protected. The Sigma lens gets 1 star, Digital Goja would get 5 stars.
