  • Best Reddot for the money.
No, this isn't a holographic, but it IS one of the best bang for your buck red dots out there. If you WANT to buy high quality, American designed and made products, an Aimpoint is your daddy. However, that's going to run you $500 to $700 just for a red dot. Enter the Sig Sauer Romeo 5, American designed in Oregon. Shake awake is vital to any red dot design these days, as is a reasonable auto shutoff. The only reason for going with a LED based red-dot over a laser-based holographic (like a an EoTech EXPS 2-3, or the Vortex AMG UH-i Gen 2) is the run time and cost. This red dot has a decently large circle-dot reticle, a personal favorite of mine to reduce acquisition time. Brightness is adjustable from a very bright blooming level, down to 2 faint levels for night-vision if that's your jam. 10 levels total. Light, durable, shake awake, and half the price of an Aimpoint while still American designed and owned. ... show more

  • Best sight you can buy under $200
I have the XDR model. I waited until after a few range trips to write a review. I put a little blue locktite when mounting it like I do all my reddots. It's rock solid. Zero doesn't drift at all. Quality wise...I have an EOTech, and I have an Aimpoint... I have to say, this is on par with those. It's actually more solid then the EOTech. I'm getting rid of my EOTech for another one of these. The glass is crystal clear and no reflections. Parallax is pretty much not existent. The dot and circle are extremely crisp. Motac works great, but it's very sensitive. You have to sneak up on it to see its off. The price on Amazon of currently $160 is about $90 cheaper then anywhere else, and it's new sealed in box with full warranty. It's pretty much Aimpoint build quality for half the money. Online reviews subject it to the same torture tests as Aimpoint and it always passes with flying colors. I'd take the XDR over an EOTech any day, it's crisp with better glass and holds zero better, plus Motac. Like any large run of products some people get a bad one, in the slim chance that happens just return it for a good one. Most of the issues on here are user related, like not knowing how to use the Motac feature correctly, and not knowing how to properly mount a sight. It's a little more then slap it on and torque it as hard as you can. Overall, it's by far the best sight you can by for under $200 and competes with the big boys in the $400 range easily. ... show more

  • Quality sights
Fast delivery, great price, much cheaper than local retail which did concern me a bit but after receiving and inspection it definitely seems legit. Came factory sealed in nice retail box, included energizer aaa battery and all the accessories. Mounted easily and both the 2mao dot and 65moa circle lit very well and quite easy for the eyes. Quality seems very good, solid build, beautifully finished. Haven’t tried it on the range yet so cannot confirm accuracy but it’s had great reviews online, can’t wait to try it out! ... show more

  • Don't be discouraged by the one star ratings
This is not my first Romeo 5 optic. However, this is my first XDR. The reticle is absolutely phenomenal. This optic exceeded my expectations. The item arrived in a sealed box. I broke the seal and installed the single AAA battery in the orientation of the side label which is positive side towards the end of the barrel. At first the unit wouldn't power on and I panicked. I reinstalled the battery after removing it and carefully screwed the battery cap to avoid cross-threading. I held down the minus brightness button until the dot reticle showed up through the window. I then held both the plus and minus buttons down to change to the circle dot reticle. Needless to say, this optic is plenty bright. Keep in mind that if you see star-bursting, you just need to turn the brightness down. Also, the angled front glass is not flush by design and is perfectly normal. You have to take the one star reviews with a grain of salt. Just because the optic is assembled in China does not mean it isn't a quality red dot. I can't speak to its longevity, because I just received it, but my others on my Sig Tread and Sig MPX have worked for years without issue. If you want an inexpensive dual reticle optic then I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. In fact, I may just buy another. ... show more

  • Great value!
It's a Sig and at this price point you're getting a lot of higher hitting features. I've used several romeo 5's but this was the first hdx. Have a very crisp and clear dot as well as reticle. No flaring or staring!

  • BEST BUDGET RED DOT
All the features you could ask for are there, its truly an amazing optic. Shake awake makes the battery life on this thing last forever, controls are simple but easy to understand, looking through the optic there is minimal blue tint. It even comes with a lower 1/3 cowitness riser which can help with when youre wearing a helmet or ear pro. I personally got mine on discount for $130 which makes me that much more happier but i'd be happy to buy this thing for its retail price if i had to, truly a great optic! ... show more

  • Sig Sauer Romeo 5 XDR
This seems to be a very well made product. I was surprised to see it's made of metal and not cheap plastic. The brightness levels are great and are adjustable from very low light to extremely bright. It comes with everything needed to mount it on a rail and even includes a battery. At some point, I'll probably buy a second one for another rifle. UPDATE: Loved the first one so much that I bought a second. After reading the reviews more, I found a common complaint that the front lens is cocked to an angle and many folks were disgusted and sent theirs back for replacement. Just so you know.....(and I verified this with Sig Sauer) ALL reflex sights have a "cocked" front lens. It's how they angle the lens to get the sight picture directly to the shooters eye. Every single one will look like this. Anyway, my second one arrived and now it's mounted as well. These are GREAT sights. ... show more
