  • Great Optic - Great Value
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
These are awesome red dot sights. I have a Romeo 5 first generation, liked it so much this review is for the 2 additional Romeo 5 Gen 2 I just bought. Not much difference. Well made aluminum machined. Very easy to mount with a rail-there is a provided low profile mount. I like that it comes with a battery, open the compartment and remove the protective tab. The sight is motion activated, easy to adjust brightness. Very clear in day or low light conditions. ... show more

  • Yep, it's a Red Dot
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
Be forewarned, if you have an astigmatism in your dominant eye, you're gonna be reminded of it every time you look through a red dot optic. It's a little less intense if you use a magnifier but still present. My fault for having an imperfect eyeball. I'm far from an SIG SAUER fanboy. I have mixed feelings about Exeter, NH. I have more fixed feelings about Chinese manufacturing. I have even more mixed feelings about shady acquisitions of US Government contracts. I would not let a P320 into my household. However, I am thrilled to have this red dot on my mid-length rifle. Its direct Holosun competitor costs more and does less. The construction of this optic is more than solid enough for its cost range and application, the housing is well built and the finish is of a higher quality than anticipated. The dot itself is crisp, with more than enough adjustability for illumination. On higher illuminations you'll get a halo around the glass edge where it meets the housing. Not a big deal. It looks good! Especially for its form factor. The packaging was excellent, with ample documentation and supplementary installation components. Installation is easy and the optic secures firmly in place with a single torx bolt (torx wrench included). Comes with two different mounts. I've yet to lose zero or have I needed to re-tighten the mount aside from when I needed to move its location on the rail. The ROMEO 5 has absolute cowitness and the dot sits nicely in line with the fixed Front Sight post on my particular setup. The red-tinted lensing on the front glass looks cool. The quality of the glass is excellent for the price range. Clear and without any noticeable tint or distortion. Astigmatism aside, I have no issue accurately making A-zone 1-1.5 MOA groupings at 100m. Anything beyond that you'll likely need a magnifier if you're of diminished vision like myself. I currently have it paired with an off-brand 3x magnifier that an acquaintance gifted me. Works like a charm, however the magnifier I'm using is also of a compact form factor, and the eye relief leaves something to be desired (gas straight to the face). I imagine pairing the Romeo 5 with its SIG SAUER Juliet counterpart would yield more favorable results. Shake awake works well, for now. Haven't had to replace the battery yet. Battery life technology has improved such that the CR battery will last more than long enough for the needs of anyone who is in the demographic for this red dot. If you don't want to replace batteries, buy a TA31. The bikini type lens cover included with the ROMEO 5 doesn't quite fit snugly but I'm happy they included one at all. It will slip off if you even think about picking up your rifle. That's okay. It's a red dot, it works well for its intended purpose. What more do you need to know. I'd honestly recommend this RDS to anyone looking for one around this price point. At the very least you're supporting a US-based company with your purchase. ... show more

  • Romeo 5 Gen II
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
The SIG Romeo5 Gen 2 is an excellent red dot for the price. It’s lightweight, durable, and holds zero without any issues. The dot is clear and easy to acquire. Simple setup, reliable performance, and perfect for range use or duty rifles. Hard to beat for the value.

  • Reliable, Crisp, and Built to Last
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
I picked up the SIG ROMEO5 Gen 2 after using the original model for years—and I’m seriously impressed. SIG took a great optic and made it even better. The 2 MOA red dot is super crisp and easy to acquire, whether you’re at the range or out in bright sunlight. It has 10 brightness settings, including two for night vision, and the motion-activated MOTAC system is a game changer. The dot turns on instantly when you pick up your firearm and turns off when it’s idle—saving battery without any hassle. I’ve been running the same battery for months with no issues. Mounting was quick and easy, and I love that it comes with both a low mount and a co-witness riser. I’ve got mine on an AR-15, and it hasn’t lost zero after hundreds of rounds. Super rugged, water-resistant, and compact—perfect for a range of platforms. Bottom line: If you want a reliable red dot that punches well above its price point, the ROMEO5 Gen 2 is it. Ideal for beginners and seasoned shooters alike. ... show more

  • Tune the dot to mid and lower ranges and you will be happy
Style: Green Dot Sight - Black (SOR5102)
The price is right, so what about the laser dot complaints? I have the green dot version. I bought it for mounting on a Ruger 1022 take-down. This scope has 12 brightness settings if you include the two for night vision. If I tune the dot to its highest setting, I definitely get light scatter and a mottled "halo" effect. But I can't imagine a scenario where I would want to use the brightest dot, even in broad daylight. It is simply too strong and results in the halo. When I tune it to some mid-range or lower intensity, the dot becomes very small and tight. It seems perfect for what I am looking for. The range where I bought the rifle showed me three laser dot sites that cost more thn the gun! I can't wait to get this thing out into the field! The one thing that I may miss that I get from my conventional scope is magnification. ... show more

  • Great sight
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
Easy to put on, shot about a hundred rounds on my rifle and the scope is still on tight. Quality it about decent ill say. Red dot is very bright even in day. Overall great red dot sight for a cheap budget

  • New mount improves on a great product
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
Very impressive low-tier optic. The new pedestal mount is so nice that I replaced an older model R5 with this one, and handed down that old one. From the old one I know that it's easy to zero, holds zero well, and battery lasts so long that I can't tell you how long it lasts, as I've never run one down. Would buy again, which is what this purchase was. ... show more

  • Functional and punches above its weight, this should be your first red dot.
Style: Red Dot Sight - Black (SOR5101)
The Romeo5 continues to be an excellent value. Having familiarized myself with the Gen 1, this is a clear improvement, with better mounting options and some minor improvements here and there. My main complaint is that the battery compartment is easily marred by a regular screwdriver. It seems designed for a quarter and was on incredibly tight when it arrived, to the point that the tab for the plastic film covering the battery inside had been cut. If you don't care about aesthetics it's not a big deal, but the lid to the battery compartment clearly needs improvement. As someone with minor astigmatism, the dot appears rather clear during the day, especially when both eyes are open and you're focused on the target. It's also greatly improved over the Gen 1, which seemed always either too bright or too dim and never looked like a clear dot to me ... show more
