Great optics from SIG that complement the M17 very well. Large window, bright dot perfectly visible in broad daylight, battery access from the top, i.e. no need to remove the RDS to change the battery, properly sized mounting hardware and adequate torque values clearly stated in the manual and to top it off an optional steel shroud comes in the package (installing it is a must IMHO). As all SIG Optics, this has an infinite life warranty, with the S/N apparent on the RDS body, i.e. once again no need to take everything apart to get any info. Only very minor annoyance is the elevation and windage dials have very small notches. Yes, the RDS comes with a SIG tool to adjust the dials, but it's not a very practical tool and would rather use a screwdriver (which will require a very small screw driver).

This red dot is everything you could want and need. The zeroing process was effortless and simple, put about 500 rounds through my M18 with this sight attached and it holds the zero without having to make any adjustments. The motion sensor is also on point and activates as soon as I pick it up, although I'll have to see how the battery holds up after a couple of months of use but so far so good. My only complaint is the shroud that comes with it doesn't make pressing the brightness adjuster easy and is pretty much just a waste of time installing if you want operating this sight an easy experience. I also got the desert color, and the shroud doesn't color match it in that color for the shroud comes in black. All in all, this sight is as advertised and would recommend this to anyone that is in the market for a great optic.

What can I say? This thing is well worth the price tag. The reticule is bright, it is not a flimsy little red dot, and it holds zero very nicely. The only complaint is the my adjustment knobs do not click at all. They just move seamlessly without the click or slight stoppage between each adjustment. So they will move around on me if I don't watch. I'm not sure if I just got an unlucky one, or if no one else's click when they adjust windage? Like I said though well worth the money, don't cheap out on something that is meant to save your life. You wanna through a forty dollar scope on your range gun go ahead. If this is for you CCW though, just BUY THE SIG!

I bought this on April 1, 2021, and had an "accident" on March of 2026. See the photo, but the story goes my pistol fell from its holster in the car onto the asphalt and landed directly on the corner of the red dot, cracking the screen. This was not a manufacturer defect. It was a human stupidity defect (imo). I called SIG to ask for an RMA, fully expecting them to deny it, which would have been completely fair. They asked for a picture and immediately sent a replacement. In a world where customer service seems horrendous left and right, SIG stands out. They were fantastic, and I will absolutely be buying SIG red dots moving forward if only for their customer service.

Can’t say enough about Sig optics…lifetime warranty, pretty much no matter what! Don’t even have to be original owner. Sig has earned most of my business for years now! And I’ve used other products to compare. Stay away from Romeo Zero though…extremely poor control placement. Sig has fixed this concern with the RS and X compact models! Good stuff

I have many other red dots, but wanted to try a Sig optic on a new Sig I have. There’s a few features that make this one better than some of the cheaper alternatives, but the best one (in my opinion) is the motion activated power feature. For a self defense weapon, seconds count, and not having to look for a power button is a nice feature to have. Maybe not required for a range toy, but for a EDC, it’s a requirement. Overall, I’m very happy with this red dot. I did a rough zero and was ringing steel immediately. It looks very durable, and there’s an optimal steel cover if you need more protection. Installation was easy - if you can field strip a striker fired weapon, you can install this. It’s especially easy on Sig’s that are made for this red dot without an adapter. The only critique is that you may need to remove the loaded chamber indicator on P320 based models in order to mount this.

I really liked this red dot. It took some doing, but it installed perfectly on my Sig M17. The accuracy was great once it was dialed in, and it was fun to shoot with. The problem was the battery life. I went through 2 batteries fairly quickly and soon realized that I couldn't aim accurately when this was installed and the red dot was not working. In an emergency, if the battery was dead, my accuracy would be limited. So unfortunately I have removed it. It does what it says it would and does it well, so I did not return it. I just can't rely on it for emergencies like I had hoped.

I've had this red dot for a little while now, and it has held up great! The window is big, so it makes it easy to find the dot, and the design of this is very nice - it's a perfect match on my P320 AXG Scorpion (it mounts directly on it without an adapter plate too). My only small complaint would be the rigidness, the aluminium of the red dot house itself seems a bit weak or soft, so it easily get marks on it, but I didn't put the steel shroud on it, but will probably spray paint it FDE to match the red dot/pistol and put in on in the near future. But overall, a great red dot. Definitely get this one over Holosun!
