I’ll start by saying, if you are mounting this on a 365XL, you will most likely strip the screw of manufacturer optic plate. It’s a pretty cheap screw. So be careful and take your time. These optics are bright and does the job. I had to get a replacement as the zeroing screws were stripped with literally little to no effort which is disappointing and I’m not confident it’s where it needs to be. Plastic casing with an aluminum frame takes the stress out of damaging it. On/off button is a pain to deal with so I let mine run all day. I’ve never seen it auto off. Doesn’t seem to be an ‘actual’ feature. For the price this is a decent optic. The texture matching the 365xl is a nice touch. Make sure you walk around with q-tips to clean your optics when your finger hits the “glass” to turn it off and on. ... show more

I've been looking at this sight for quite awhile now. In researching the sight, I came across 2 main complaints. 1, that the sight is made out of a flimsy plastic. 2. that the power/brightness adjustment button can be hard to access. Very happy to say that issue 1 has been rectified. The site i bought came with a aluminum shroud that should protect the plastic frame of the sight. As for issue 2, well, I have big fingers and short finger nails, so ya, the power/brightness button isnt exactly the easiest to access bare handed. This is a very small sight for a very small pistol, so i think i can accept that. Especially sense the sight automatically shots off after 2 minutes of no movement and turns back on when it senses movement. We'll see how long the battery lasts when in this mode. ... show more

This isn't my first Sig red dot and I'm very happy with my other ones. However this one is giving me pause. It's design seems kind of clunky and cheap where it matters. It comes with 2 sets of screws, not sure why since the instructions doesn't say. Only which ones to use and they seem slightly too long. They don't seem to seat well but I'm hesitant to over tighten them. The instructions say to tighten to 9 inch lbs, but who had that tool laying around except a gunsmith. The red dot itself is in a plastic housing that slips into a metal housing for better protection. I'm ok with that, my issue is with the battery. it's loose at the bottom of the plastic housing and relies on the metal housing to hold it in. Not good. Seems to work, but cheaply done. My next issue is a big one to me. The placement of the button that turns it on and also adjusts the brightness. It's inside the housing next to the glass making it impossible for a normal man fingers to reach. As much as I'm tried, I cannot get my finger in far enough to press the button. So how the hell can I turn it on???? Let alone adjust the brightness? I read one review where someone mentioned having to carry a flathead screwdriver to get in there. That's ridiculous! I didn't think that could be true. It is !!! The other issue I have is how you adjust it up or down. My other Sig red dots have a slot that will allow you to use a dime if you're in the field and don't have a screwdriver handy. This one requires a very small allen wrench that is supplied. It's so small and thin, I would be afraid to take it to the range for fear of losing it. Then you're SOL if you need to adjust the sight again. I really had high hopes for this based on my other Sig red dots, but this is in a class by itself. The junk class. If you can't turn it on, why even have it. The down side is I don't know of another Sig red dot that will fit my P365 Macro. However, if I find one by another brand, this one is coming off in a heartbeat. Heck, I may as well take it off now if I can't turn it on. I started out with this at 3 stars but the more I wrote, I couldn't leave it there. This is far from Sig's best work and they should be ashamed to sell this. I'd rather pay more and actually have a functioning red dot that I can turn on and adjust.     • Install issue, factory defect??

Went to install it, was a real head scratcher. It came with two sets of screws, one set 3.5 the other 4mm. Was pretty obvious the 4MM were not going to work. The 3.5mm screws threaded into my pistol just fine, so those must be the ones to use. Try to mount the sight, and the screws are not long enough, but they also do not fit into the countersunk hole on the sight. They stick up above the hole about the amount needed to hit the threads. The screw has a bigger shoulder on it. I push the screws through from the underside of the sight, and they flush up real nice. It's like they did not drill the hole properly from the factory, they went bigger on the bottom and smaller on the top. Got home, and checked the drill index for a bit that would fit thru the bottom but not the top. Ran that thru the hole, barely took anything out...and bang. Screw fits flush from the top, and is now long enough to mount on the pistol. They must have had a batch of factory rejects that found their way onto Amazon. Can't think of any other reason. Otherwise seems to be fine. ... show more

I bought this for my Sig Sauer P320 M17. I didn't want to spend big money on a optic so this was was right in my wheelhouse. The hardest thing about trying to install this is getting the plate off of your actual pistol since mine came with the SigLite Night Sights. I had to have tried at least 20 different allen wrenches till i found the correct size. But as for the red dot....as usual the battery is inserted on the bottom but there is nothing to hold it in so when your trying to attach it to the plate you have to be extremely careful because the slightest move will knock it out. This unit comes with the metal cover but I couldn't line it up correctly enough to get it to fit snugly. It sits nicely on the gun and isn't bulky. The dimming button is in a terrible place as if you have big fingers your smear up the optic when yate. This thing is a steal compared to some of the ridiculous prices people opt to pay for similar optics. I am sort of a newb when it comes gun accessories so if I can install this and be able to use it right after ANYONE can!. I took this to the range a few weeks ago and the sight was perfect I didn't have to make ANY adjustments. I put about 100 rounds through it and it still held up. I heard some of the bad reviews but I didnt experience any of those problems....besides the brightness button location ... show more

I was suprised by how sharp and clear this dot it. VERY bright. Only have a few hundred rounds with it attached but has held zero and worked perfectly so far. Auto sleep/awake makes it very easy to use. Got it on sale but worth it even at full price.
