Good design the snow slides right off it but the sun beats the he'll out of the fabric. The first one lasted 4 or 5 years and because I had the top too tight the fabric got brittle and ripped at the peak. So I got a new one and put a tarp over the top to keep the sun off the top.run the ropes from the tarp down to the bottom cross member just make a small hole at each support and tie it . And the back has a pocket for a pipe at the bottom but doesn't come with a pipe.3/4 inch metal electrical conduit will fit. I put 1/4 inch air craft cable embedded in concrete and looped it around the bottom horizontal pipe at each foot . Hope this helps. ... show more

I needed a place to store my OHV's. It was easy to assemble and the fabric is super sturdy. One worry was snow. It did great as the snow slides right off. Roomier then anticipated. Great value for the size and durability. Update I really didn't want to give it even one star but I had to or it wouldn't let me post the review. A little over a year later the pitch of almost the entire ceiling was torn. Just right outside the warranty time. I am seeing quite a few reviews with the same problem. The pitch is torn and the cover gets super fragile and tears easily. I am not happy with the company warranty response. I bought it December 4th and it didn't arrive until January. So, 14 months later the company will not replace the cover. 2 months after the warranty ran out! Bad business practice. There is obviously something wrong with the cover. They are offering me a 20% discount on a replacement cover which is still another $300 for something that will do the same thing a year from now? I don't think so. I guess I will chalk this up to the don't buy this again! Very unhappy with the product and the companies response. ... show more

Needed some quick storage for some equipment accquired from previous employer. Bought this shelter with mixed expectations. We put down a foundation with lumber we mostly had on hand. 1st time we assembled it we had some parts mixed up and made it taller than it should be. tore back down and did it correctly. For the most part it was pretty easy with two of us. some holes were not drilled correctly but it was not common. I could see where somebody without any structural or building experience may run into difficulty but if you are handy enough and have a bit of strength you should have no problem with assembly. This shed was built between two fences so the wind is not too much of a problem. One side faces direct morning early afternoon sunlight. We are in the San Francisco bay area so rain had not been too much of a problem either. Then we had a storm with record breaking wind gusts and torrential rain, (trees were downed all over the bay area, freeways flooded, whole cities flooded) and the shed I feel held up to it. And though it did not escape damage I believe it held up quite well to the huge tree that fell on it! The door end of the frame was smashed and a few of the cross bars bent. A large hole in the cover and a few medium sized holes all within 6 feet of door. Roll up door was actually okay to reuse. We purchased replacement parts that totaled around 200.00 to fix frame completely. Rather than purchase a new top we just covered the existing one with a heavy duty tarp we had. Prior to the storm damage there was two small tears in the cover that seemed to be cause by cover being too taught after some shifting of the frame due to ground shrinking from drought. I was not leaking except for those two tears and once patched I felt the cover would last another year at least. Even with the price we paid for the shelter, around 500.00 I believe, and the 200.00 in parts after the storm plus approx. 200.00 for the new tarp I plan to get we already got more than our money's worth since we had been paying 400.00 per month to store what we now store in the carport. There is an El Nino winter predicted so I plan to purchase a heavy duty tarp to cover the carport and the deck we built in front of it to store yet more equipment. I feel the frame is dependable as it is attached to the foundation. ... show more

    • Fits a lifted 02' Excursion easily.
Fits my 02' lifted Excursion. Has about a 1' clearance lengthwise, and about 3 feet on each side with the SUV in there. This shelter did survive a series of wind storms with winds over 50 mph over the past 9 months. However, if you install it the way the directions want it installed, this shelter will not withstand these winds. You will need to have a carpenter (or someone with some great insight into internal bracing) brace it internally to ensure it stays up. Some of the things I did: installed 6 four foot long anchors. Bolted the vertical legs to a 2"x6" treated lumber frame I built for it (along the perimeter, and perpendicular between sides to keep from spreading the legs), I used multiple tie down straps to tie the frame to the soil anchors, cross brace it along the horizontal horizon, and along the vertical horizon. Also, I used a 3/8" cable to hold the ends tight on the top curved roof line. It took a while, I used at least 16 tied downs inside the structure, 8 - 16' long treated lumber, bolts, and I used eye bolts at many locations to attach the tie downs. Don't over-tighten the roof tarp, as it will shrink in cold and tear. It cost about $300 for the lumber and extra bolts/straps. Took 3 days to build myself with cranking the anchors in by hand and I am experienced. ... show more

I bought two of these Aug 2013. I will say this, they should add a required tool of a drill with a unibit. If you want all of these pipes to fit flush like they are supposed to, you will need to redrill most of them. Out of all of the predrilled holes on these units, about 10 fit properly, the rest (100+?) needed to be redrilled. I would have thought that the QC at Shelterlogic would have better than it is. (see pictures) The pictures that are on this site do not accurately represent the roof connectors. They show a second set of horizontal connectors going across about half way down the roof ridge, and mine didn't have these. I only had one where the roof meets the "walls" and one at the very peak. I would suppose that they did this in order to make sure that the snow slides off. (see my new pictures) I would suggest a very strong foundation. I'm a little bit of an overachiever so I put down concrete peers in the ground with a double layered 2x10x22. Works fantastic to screw into using 3/8" lags. I didn't like how flimsy this felt when I shook the skeleton, so I took some 1" EMT pipe and actually fabricated a truss/support system. Just adding a pipe from the corner down to my wooden foundation prevents this from pushing in from the front or back at all where before it would flex considerably. Having the trusses means you can literally hang off of this thing and it doesn't flex at all. I could now use the upper area for storage. Its withstood 40mph winds so far and the little bit of snow on it didn't fall off!! I had to walk in and shake the unit and THEN it fell off. So with winds that extreme it isn't flexing at all which is good. (See pictures) I would give it probably 3.5 stars. The reason being first is that the Quality Control at Shelterlogic is lacking. My favorite picture has the pre-drilled holes being a solid inch off of where it should have been. The second being that this is only rated for 60mph winds and I can understand why because its really flimsy if you shake it and they somehow expect these tiny 12 inch screw augers to hold this thing down its just impossible. So if you expected to get EVERYTHING you need to build and secure it, you'll be disappointed. I couldn't leave it like that so I had to build a solid foundation and then reinforce it with EMT. NOW I'm happy with it. I would recommend getting a solar light and doing like I did which is to put it up in the rafters. Amazon has a Sunforce one for 36 bucks which comes with everything and it works fantastic. Now I walk in there at night and the light goes on and I can see. (see pictures) I would also recommend putting some 1" pipe foam around the peaks since others have complained that is where it splits first. The pipe foam secured with tie wraps will prevent overwearing since its fabric on foam instead of fabric against steel. I also recommend being careful because as another reviewer mentioned they don't do a good job of deburring the steel pipe. So I had to file a few and hit a few with a hammer to make them straight. But you also want to make sure that these little burs don't cut open your canvas. Anyways now that its done, I'm quite happy with it. I just wish they built it a bit stronger and their quality control was better. I uploaded several pictures so please take a look. ... show more

    • weak cross weld support and improper bolts inlcuded
WARNING!!!! THIS MODEL IS INCOMPLETE AND WEAK!!! HAS 30 WELDS FOR CROSS CONNECTION SUPPORT (welds will get weak and break easily with time) HAS 20 BOLTS TOO SHORT IN LENGTH FOR PROPER COMPLETION. (manufacturer is aware of this and replace parts for free.. but still really shipping out incorrect product??) the shed came with 1/4 x 1 5/8 in bolts that are suppose to be used for the rail half clamps... they do not fit... I have measured them with a tape measure to ensure I had the correct bolts.. and I double checked on the instructions to ensure I was using number 10115... the number of the 1/4 x 1 5/8 in bolts... and sure enough they do not fit.. 20 of them are the wrong size.. when I called the manufacture they sent me out the 1/4 x 2 in. bolts. now that's nice and all.. good customer service... they were fast about it... no complaints there.... BUT THE FACT THEY DON'T PUT THE CORRECT LENGTH SCREWS IN THE FIRST PLACE MAKES ME THINK THIS THING IS GONNA FLIP AND FALL APART. The frame on the top and cross bars is a welded on stub that allows a pipe to be inserted into it and bolted on... the weld is not even completely around the pole so that it can have flex.. which in my personal opinion as a professional welder.. causes the weld to deteriorate faster and loose hardness ... but let me tell you.. a weld is not going to last as long as a tube bolted into a tube directly with no weld... a couple of storms with some wind and the welds are gonna start to loose there strength fast... in fact most structure support similar to this in my line of work (custom fab and repairs for process technologies) all break at or around where a weld was made...this one has 30!!!!!!! that's now 30 potential breaking points on the cross connections... I went ahead and kept this unit... mostly because well i already put most of it together and committed the $700... its only for my riding mower and well honestly garbage and junk i cant get rid of. i used this model to replace a 15 year old "temporary" shed.(avoiding HUGE property tax increase by using the word "temporary" in the shed build) that was all constructed without any welds. the frame out lasted the tarp. but the model was to old to just get a replacement tarp.. so i had to get a new frame and structure. when this one breaks at the welds and falls apart in the next few years. I will post an update as to how long til the first weld breaks.. I will not be buying a new one of these. ... show more
