  • AMAZING FAST WARRANTY SERVICE! AMAZING FAST WARRANTY SERVICE!
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
In June, 2023 we bought the basic 10 by 15 Instant Garage for backyard storage in Arizona. The sun here eats almost everything but I was hoping it would last a few years anyway. Assembly was not complicated although the instructions could have been clearer. Nevertheless, the shelter went up easily and the shelter did its job well for a while. However, by the end of the year stress marks began to appear where the cover touched the framework on the sides and a couple of winds later the cover fabric began to separate and tear. The sun cooked it a lot faster than I had hoped. In mid-February we decided to ask about warranty for that kind of damage. I filled out the online warranty request form about noon, sending a few photos of the damaged areas. I received a response from the Shelter Logic Customer Service Representative Jay just a few minutes after 3 the SAME DAY approving the replacement of the cover free of charge! He also offered an upgrade to the heavy duty cover replacement covers taking $200 off of the retail prices. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS BEST. Having had a few other issues with other items from other companies, I REALLY APPRECIATE Shelter Logic's response and highly recommend them. Although I cannot afford right now to upgrade, I will plan on doing that in the future when this second cover requires replacement. THANK YOU JAY and SHELTER LOGIC for taking care of this the way you did. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Richard Bartz ... show more

  • Assembly not too Hard
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
I have the knock off of this that I use as a greenhouse. Happened to see these on sale and ordered 2 of them. We started putting the first one together today.....and it went pretty well. The frame tubing is a little sturdier than my other one and each joint is bolted together - which is think it much better. Is it a bit of a fight to line up the holes at time? Yes it sure is. Also a few of the joints - I had to file inside the pipes to get the metal edges of the holes filed smooth so the other piece could slide in.....no big deal really. The instructions are not really bad either.....However, since I've put these together before I already have a good idea how it worked. I'm not as sure if I hadn't would it have been as easy. The cover also seems a bit better quality than my other one. The one main complaint I have are the bolts. There are 3 different sizes that all come together in a large bag. Two of them are so close to the same size you spend time trying to find the longer ones. I wish they'd come in separate bags to save time. Since this one will be staying up my plans are to put filled sand bags around the bottom for stability and to keep any water out. Part of the inside will be parking for a vehicle with the back part a little storage. The floor will have plastic sheeting on it initially until the grass and anything else can truly die after I spray it. Then I'll add a pallet and plywood floor to the storage part. Overall I have great luck with portable shelters - just make sure and get them tied down tight and the cover on well. I also faced it where most of the wind will hit the side and not the end. I've noticed that all these shelters seem to have more issues if wind hits the end where the parts overlap than the solid sides. The tie down stakes are nice and deep and sturdy. I do tend to add extra ones in the middle as well....just for extra support. This is a nice little shelter. ... show more

  • More than we expected! More than we expected!
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
Well! What a nice surprise. Our Shelter Logic 1015 Garage in a Box, to be used as my workshop, is Sturdy, Stable, Dry, Attractive. Was not expecting all that. Very pleasantly surprised... Pros: The box was in good shape, undamaged and properly sealed though plenty heavy for one to handle, and delivered on time. The packing was organized and nice and tight without a lot of waste material. As a matter of fact, some of the material used for separators was useful for reinforcing the wear points. All the parts were there except for one nut on one wire clamp. Impressive! Nothing was damaged or out of place and the unpacking was a breeze if a little daunting. There are a LOT of parts and it looked like more of a task than it actually was. The instructions were a pleasant surprise also. There are very few written words and the images are, for the most part, well made and easy to read and follow. There are a few suggestions to make to improve them that I will cover in the "Cons". Assembly for one would be a REAL challenge. I started off alone and got all four arches complete with some difficulty because they are quite ungainly with the fasteners loose. 1-1/2 man hours. I got some help from a good friend (oil field mechanic) the next morning and I don't know that I could have done it without him. He and I spend 3 hours together to finish and that includes finishing the treated wood base frame I had started earlier and anchoring it all to our flat but unlevel asphalt parking slab.. So, 7-1/2 man hours total. Not Bad. This thing is well designed and thought out and everything fits pretty well. Cons: Not too many really, and pretty minor, considering... There are a few pages where a few words or even hieroglyphs would have been useful and saved a do-over or two. The part numbers are all there but are sometimes smeared on the pieces, so a better view of the parts on the individual instruction page would be helpful. In some places, it is not clear whether the view on the page is of the inside or outside and that is generally important. Some of the helpful hints in the circles are not as helpful as the could be because they make little or no sense. A few of the You Tube and even Shelter Logic's own site change the install sequence regarding the lower horizontal tubes. If I did one of these again, I would COMPLETELY assemble the frame and then install the ends and canopy on a squared and secure frame. As it is, the frame is too imprecise to allow final assembly without some trial and error. Improvements: We attached ours to an existing carport frame on one side and to a treated lumber side and closed end frame anchored to the asphalt on the driveway. It is REALLY screwed down well, and almost rigid as a result. I have put Gorilla Tape patches on all the outside stress points there UV and abrasion seem to do their dirty work. I have reinforced the inside of those same areas with the tarp material left from packaging. I wrapped all the joints with Gorilla Tape for wear resistance. Finally, I have purchased a well reviewed product called 303 Aerospace Protectant and UV spray and will treat the entire surface before summer. Summary: All in all, a very well designed and manufactured product by Shelter Logic, and well handled by Amazon. Happy right now. We shall see what the 100+ deg East Texas summer or first tornado or hurricane does. ... show more

  • Absolute garbage, don't waste your money! Absolute garbage, don't waste your money!
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
Update: the company's lack of response to my multiple inquiries about replacement of the cover is a clear indication that they absolutely do not care about their customers. How in the world is such a terrible company still in business? This is the second shelter I have purchased from this company and I absolutely loved the first one. It lasted for 3+ years without issue. This one though, is having issues after less than a month. The dimensions match the instructions to a T but the tarp doesn't fit properly. The material is much thinner and weaker and was ripped from the tie downs by the wind. Additionally, the pipes and connectors are also lower quality than before. The metal is thinner and the machining is inaccurate meaning I had to drill out several of the bolt holes, bend the connectors to fit properly, and file down and reshape the ends of connecting pipes to fit properly. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the decline in quality and will likely look for a different brand soon as I doubt this one will last even 6 months. Update: turns out 6 months was generous; it has now ripped in multiple places just because of the wind. The fabric is losing color and rapidly deteriorating and will not last to the end of summer. I will never buy from shelterlogic again because of this low quality garbage. Shame on them charging so much for so little. 1 year later and not only is it full of holes and wearing out where it sits on the frame but now the frame is beginning to rusty too. With shoddy quality like this, I hope the company goes under so they can't screw anyone else out of their money. What a travesty! ... show more

  • Need more durable tent material. Need more durable tent material.
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
The tent in the photo was my first one which lasted little over 4 years until a nasty storm took it out! I believe that where the tent is placed plays a big part. It was originally behind the house, under trees, in an area sheltered from major wind. I moved it to a more open area of the yard and noticed that one corner was not anchored down(kids). I believe this was why the wind was able to di the damage you see in the photo. I got a new one a week later and put it in an area that was both a little more open but under a tree and I anchored down all four corners. This one is 2 yrs old and this past winter was brutal. This one did not fly away but there are many areas that now have weakened spots, so I will need to get a replacement cover or duck tape the weak spots. The rivets for the bungies to tie up the door panel, one ripped off the other is not quite off yet but I can see that it is working on it. ... show more

  • Replacement covers stupidly not available @ Amazon Replacement covers stupidly not available @ Amazon
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
11-11-22, had to spend a couple hours tracking down how/where to get a replacement cover for my 2020 vintage garage. Went directly to ShelterLogic site & had to hunt around a little. $250 shipped to Cali for a 10x15x8 peak style garage shelter cover & fixins ( everything but the frame IIRC ) @UPS ground (only option offered). Interesting note, the covers have a white label attached inside that has the replacement cover #, enter the # & the required replacement cover is shown (not necessarily in stock). Also interesting, 3 cover types are offered. Original light weight poly @ ~4.5oz, 14.5oz vinyl (@ 3x the price for my 10x15 unit !!! ), and an even heavier duty version. You peeps not in sunny commifornia prolly need the HD. Personally I would not use this item in an area of Real weather. So, 2 years down the road & this went from a few cat induced tears to serious disintegration in 2 weeks ( as this material ages it becomes quite brittle & once it starts to tear/rot it'll be over very soon ). Had I been prepared to replace the cover I would pick up some billboard vinyl on eBay & recover myself ( less than &100 for similar sized heavy weight material !). HTH J 12-03-22 update, Purchased a cover kit from SL directly. While this is a complete 'kit' for replacing the shelter cover ( main cover, front & rear end panels & tightening ratchets ) this really didn't fit very well & was much more difficult to align and install than the original cover. I suspect from the Russian language ( my guess anyway ) instructions & packaging that this is for a metric sized shelter in place of my original imperial sized unit. Or this is just a very poorly made replacement cover. I fussed over the fitment 2x as much time as the original installation. The original lasted almost exactly 2 years which is longer than I anticipated needing. If this shelter remains in use long enough to need another replacement cover I'll prolly just use a high quality tarp @ 1/2 the price. Odd how Shelter Logic offers a higher grade cover , but @ nearly 3x the cost of original purchase price ...??? I'll shop elsewhere next time. J ... show more

Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
I own this portable garage (10" x 15") from Shelter Logic more than 5 month.I live in Putnam County NY.After i build it up it was tested with all weather conditions, from hurricane Irene to our October heavy snow storm. If place where you want build it up have little angle, still is okay.Just if you have there some bumps or holes, make it flat.I build it half on grass and half on parking blacktop. For secure on black top take your instructions plane and visit local hardware store and ask there. They will help you.I was used longer drill and few Expansion Anchors with nuts and washers.First of all.FEW FREE TIPS; A)Don't be silly and when you will build it up CHECK TO INSTRUCTIONS,FOLLOW NUMBERS AND YOU WILL SAVE FEW HOURS OF MY WORK.Because i was stupid j.. a.... and "Smart" people never read instructions.BUT IN THIS CASE I WAS WRONG.All tubing have a numbers and are big help.So that why i finish it little later, but I DID IT JUST MY SELF,without someone help.Just every time finish one side, don't jump here and there and think. B)If you have a plane build it under tree, like i did,be sure you,(or ask someone),better trim all large branches few feet top on your shed.If they fold down because of heavy snow or big wind they will hit and can damage your cover or all shelter. C) Secure your garage with Shelter Logic 30" Auger Anchors model # 10075.0,($20 at Home Depot) They are longer and will hold it down much better and stronger. D) SNOW REMOVAL!!Still construction is just from light tubes.(Don't forget. How much you paid.) DON'T LET IT COVER WITH HUNDRED POUND OF SNOW!It is much stronger than looks and can keep few pounds of snow ,(i do it when have have 3-4"),but it's individual, depend if is heavy or just nice, light snow.Better early than late.(Check all pictures) If you will follow my tips, you will also enjoy this cheep but great portable garage. If you are little tired from regular cover,(still up and down),and also from snow removal it's for you. It's good size for my 2010 JEEP Wrangler JK and now is my toy still clean and shiny.I doesn't work for Shelter Logic.I'm just happy client and doesn't like that all bad reviews. This is my first review and i hope you will understand it and will little help to you.I will try also download few pictures.So... YOU CAN DO IT! GOOD LUCK. >>>UPDATE<<< AFTER 16 MONTH I STILL LOVE IT!!!!! If you will LOOK AT MY FEW PHOTOS you will know why. TWO BEST STEPS; 1)>>> READ AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS and YOU CAN SAVE FEW HOURS <<<, 2)>>> Better REMOVE SNOW <<< As you can see,my JEEP can fit there ok.Don't buy it for 2005 Toyota Corolla. It's longer than 2door Jeep JK! AFTER that VERY BAD HEAVY SNOW STORM last year AND AFTER HURRICANE SANDY is my SHELTER LOGIC portable garage still in good shape. As you can also see on my photos, this Spring a installed for better ventilation ShelterVent Part #10031. TIP;You can put on door steel but light weight electric tube.Just roll up with hands and doors will keep a shape. If any questions regard this product, you can email me to [email protected]. • For the price buy a metal one. For the price buy a metal one.
Style: Autoshelter Only Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
Assembly wasn’t too bad and for now it is up. Don’t know how long it will last. The bad. Well instructions feel like it is printed for 20 products so spent the first 10-15 minutes trying to find the 8 longer bolts that needed to go in a certain place. I even got out fricking calipers. Nope only two size bolts not 3. No worries just needed to bend the metal to make the second longest bolts fit. Which was a lot easier than I hoped. The metal is so dang thin even when the holes are just circles and all the bolts are carriage bolts that spin when you try and tighten them, the metal tubes will still bend. That doesn’t mean it is sturdy by any means so I have (8) 80 pound cement bags in buckets with ratchet straps holding it down. The biggest problem was the QC. Two of the pipes that have to go into another so they are made to fit inside where so flared at the end I had to roll it in a pipe bending machine just to get it to fit normally. If you can’t fix a flared pipe this is not the product for you. I found out during assembly so I was well over an hour into it so I wasn’t going to try and send it back, also passed the return window. Another fun issue was the amount of very very sharp edges. Some were inside the tubes from being punched out and the pipes had a really hard time going in. However one really took the cake. It was on the joint that goes on top of the front or back. It had a curled piece of metal that was so sharp it cut me good and open. Furthermore since it is where the tarp touches the frame it would’ve shredded the tarp instantly. I had to get tin snips to take off the bir. After that I went over all the bits to make sure there wasn’t more. There was. If the frame holds up and the tarp dies (it will) the frame might do better with a lot of self tappers and some exterior metal skins. It was only two hundred and fifty when I got it but for the current rate of three ninety not worth it. So yeah if you have the tools to fix what they call good enough might be good for now for you but I would not buy again. ... show more
