  • Reliable, Smart, and Powerful — Perfect for Grow Light Control! 🌱💡
Number of Items: 1
I’ve been using the Shelly Plus Plug US to control my indoor grow lights, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. While I’m not a licensed electrician, I can confidently say this smart plug is rock-solid when handling high-power loads. I’m running a 1600-watt lighting setup, and the Shelly Plus Plug handles it without breaking a sweat — no overheating, no flickering, just consistent, reliable power. Setup was truly plug and play. It connected to my Wi-Fi quickly, and the Shelly app made scheduling and automation a breeze. I can easily turn my lights on and off from anywhere, monitor energy usage, and even create advanced routines if I want to. Whether you're managing a grow room, automating appliances, or just looking for a high-quality smart plug that can handle real power — this is the one to get. Shelly nailed it. ... show more

  • Plugged into Convenience
Number of Items: 1
The Shelly Plus Plug is a versatile addition to our smart home setup. At $19.90, it offers solid value, blending seamlessly with Home Assistant, making it easy to control our kitchen gadgets and living room lamps with just a voice command or through its robust Shelly Smart Control App. Key features like precise power consumption monitoring and an integrated countdown timer for pre-set actions stand out; they help us track usage and manage our energy bills effectively — a plus for any household looking to cut costs without giving up convenience. One thing I appreciate is the easy-to-use timer feature which adjusts our devices' schedules automatically, perfect for when we're away or need appliances to turn off after the kids go to bed. While many reviews praise its straightforward setup and reliability, some users noted occasional connectivity issues but nothing that would overshadow its benefits. For us using home assistant and google home setup, setting it up was a breeze, and it's been running smoothly ever since. The only slight downside is that it can be a bit bulky for tightly spaced outlets, but that's minor considering all its capabilities. All in all, this smart plug fits well into our busy lifestyle, providing both safety and ease of use while helping us be more energy-conscious. ... show more

  • Remote control and monitor anything electric!
Number of Items: 1
I love this product. First heard about this from a Raspberry Pi internet monitoring setup where the author also monitored the power consumption of his satellite gear with a Shelly plug. I grabbed one and installed it on the pump for my 25,000 gal swimming pool. Pump pulls 989W consistently, well within Shelly's limits. I can now monitor the power consumption from a Pi and detect things like a burst hose or low water level based on feedback from the pump. I can also turn the pump on and off remotely which makes vacuuming by myself a breeze. I have bypassed the old mechanical time switch my dad mounted on the wall when I was a kid and now I schedule the pump operating hours in the Shelly app. I love this product and will be buying a few more! Very capable and has a whole slew of communication options including wifi, bluetooth, websocket. and MQTT. Impressive device in a tiny little package! ... show more

  • This is the way!
Number of Items: 1
I believe this is the only smart plug that anyone should ever use. It supports everything except for Zigbee, but they have models that do, just not this one. The build quality and the CE or UL certification far surpass the others, and that is important to prevent fires in your home. Many Chinese products on Amazon state UL listed when they are not; you can search for UL-certified products on the UL website, and you will see that sellers on Amazon just state that without really being certified. Shelly is NOT one of those; they build quality pro-grade devices. As for compatibility, you can use these with every Home Automation system I know of; these are fully open devices. You can even use your own certs on these to really lock them down if you want to. Shelly gives you full control of the hardware. So to sum it up, these are the safest devices to use, the most compatible devices to use, and the best performing devices to use. ... show more

  • Shelly Plus PlugUS Reports high line voltage and high current
Number of Items: 1
I previously had purchased a Shelly Plus 2PM and verified that the line voltage, current and energy reported via the API, web-socket and web page were within 3% of actual values. The results were quite impressive, so I decided to purchase the "Shelly Plus Plug US" (this device) anticipating similar performance. However using 60W incandescent light bulb (resistive) as the load, the API and web reported the line voltage at ~130V (actual on a meter was 118.6V). Also via the Shelly API, the line current was 0.547A (actual meter reading 0.480A). The API reported power was proportionally higher as well, 71W vs 57W actual. The first thing I did before running the above tests was to update the firmware on the device. That process turns out to be very simple via the devices own web page. From a previous review, I read that after the update you would need to reset it, but that was not necessary. While the ad indicates it has a temperature sensor, you can't actually use it to read ambient air temperature since the sensor is enclosed inside the unit. It reads the internal temperature of the device which for me was 116˚F. I believe that the Shelly Plus Plug US must be a 1st generation product, where the Plus 2PM is 2nd generation unit. However Shelly does not currently offer a 2nd generation plug. So would I purchase this again - Yes I would. Aside from readings that are too high which were disappointing, there are a number positives for why I like this product. 1) It has an extensive API library which allows you to manage, configure and use the device for home automation. 2) If you can't use the API, it has its own web page which essentially does all the main things you want. 3) You can set up Schedules and Timers on the device via the web page. For example, say you only wanted the device to turn off in 15 minutes or you wanted automatically turn it back on after 2-hours later or both, you can do this by setting a timer. With scheduling, you can set up specific turn-On and turn-off times for specific days of the week. Multiple schedules can be created. 4) The device uses WiFi instead of proprietary protocols like other devices. 5) It works well with Habitat. I easily added shelly devices to mine after installing the Shelly Plus Plus" driver. 6) A cloud account is not required to function on your home network. I did not sign up for an account nor download the android app to my phone. However if you need access to devices while away from home, you might need to consider a shelly cloud account unless you already have world access to your network via habitat, home assistant or some other home automation application. Overall the Shelly product line looks very good, especially their 2nd gen devices. ... show more

  • Smart Wattage Monitor for Home Labs – Great Integration with Home Assistant
Number of Items: 1
I purchased this device to measure the wattage consumption of my homelab. While I had an approximate idea of the overall power draw, I wanted to track peak usage and ensure the voltage remained stable "enough" for my equipment. This is an excellent "smart" alternative to a traditional Kill-a-Watt. It integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant and offers customizable settings for individual outlets. From what I can tell, it’s based on an ESP8266, and the firmware has received multiple updates—always a positive sign. The default Shelly App also retains a surprising amount of historical data, even if you choose not to link it to Home Assistant. Plus, it can be triggered and updated through Home Assistant, which adds a layer of flexibility. I appreciate how companies are embracing open-source principles—this device feels like a great example of that. It’s reliable, feature-rich, and easy to customize. TLDR: ✅ Accurate wattage tracking with peak monitoring ✅ Seamless Home Assistant integration ✅ Regular firmware updates for the ESP8266-based device ✅ Shelly App provides detailed historical data ✅ Open-source-friendly design and customization Recommendation: Perfect for DIYers and homelab enthusiasts looking for a smart, open-source power monitoring solution. ... show more

  • Local wifi/LAN not accessible unless WAN route is working.
Number of Items: 1
Bought this because you can use and API to manage it. I was going to use this to reboot my home internet router with a python application if there is a loss of connectivity. When the device is on the wifi AND there is an available route to the internet, it works without issue and I can control it no problem. If the device is on wifi AND the internet is not available, the device disables it's communication on the wifi network, so you can't grammatically communicate with it at all. can't even ping it. When the internet connection on the wifi network is restored and there is a route to the public internet, then you can interface with it again. I opened a case with their support and it took them forever to respond, when they did respond they told me it's normal for device on the wifi network to not be reachable when there is no internet. lol, no Shelly support, all devices on the wifi network will still be able to communicate with each other, they just wont be able to access the internet. The only device that did not work and could not communicate without WAN availability was the smart plug. It's obvious that their device want to talk to the mothership and is disabling features/services if it can't, which is silly, a bug, and ridiculous that they can't even understand basic troubleshooting. I found lots of other people complaining of the same kinds of issues on the net. ... show more

  • Functional and more
Number of Items: 1
I thought it was just going to allow me to turn on/off the outlet remotely. But it does SO much more. (Things I didn't expect.) - It shows the real-time power usage (V and A). Great for determining how much power a UPS, power strip, or individual device is using. - It includes a counter for tracking Watt-hours. (You can reset the counter for measuring over a specific period.) - Built-in timer and supports scripts for doing really customized tasks. (E.g., if the following conditions are met, then turn on or off the outlet. For example, I can have it query my digital thermostat and turn on a fan.) The best part: while it can be used with cloud services (Siri, Alexa, Google Home, etc.), those are OPTIONAL. I use it offline as part of my local office network. Building something like this from scratch (e.g., esp32, voltmeter, ammeter, power relay, etc.) would cost way more than this little device, and it wouldn't have as nice of a user interface. My only wish? I wish they had a two-outlet version. ... show more
