  • The schematic included is wrong, but with the right wiring, the device works great!
Number of Items: 1
First of all, this is a really useful device. Very small so that you can install it inside an existing outlet-box and very easy to integrate into your HomeAssistant application (or just use their app!) My only complaint was that when I tried following the wiring "schematic" that was included with the device, it shows that your light/appliance connects to the Neutral wire (white, in the USA) from the "I" (input) screw. This never worked for me and I thought I just had a dud (bad Shelly). Actually, the "I" is for "input", not output or "neutral". (who would have guessed?) I found the correct wiring diagram on YouTube channel "The Hook Up". I created my own version with pictures of sample components (apologies for some rough lines!) and I'm attaching it to this review. I'm not a licensed electrician (and I don't think the guy from "The Hook Up" is either) so proceed at your own risk, but if you try and fail using the schematic that comes from Shelly, before you return the device or toss it in the trash, you might want to try this wiring... ... show more

  • Amazing!

Absolutely perfect! 💯 the value, the quality, the flexibility and performance is truly excellent. Would highly recommend for any small business, or small facility. Very simple to install and setup. Don't be worried about wiring I is input O is output, comes with detailed wiring instructions.

  • Excellent, tiny and works like a charm
Number of Items: 1
Bought this to act as a remote toggle between outlet and a bulb (no wall switch). It was tiny enough to hide in the wall outlet box. Pairing it with Shelly app was easy. Used Shelly bridge plugin to expose this to homekit later on. This mini initiative worked exactly as planned.

  • Great product except for the instructions.
Number of Items: 2
Overall I am very pleased with these. I needed something to integrate an outdoor flood light into my home automations. I tried two other relays from different manufacturers and they were quirky and just a pain to try to get to work correctly. These are small and just plain easy to install. The only issue I have is with the instructions. They are lacking in detail, you pretty much are forced to go on to Shelly's website to decipher what is what. ... show more

  • Works Great Once You Get It Online
Number of Items: 1
Use case is as a momentary trigger for a garage door opener (Chamberlain Liftmaster without the MyQ integration, not paying $100 to be forced into their cloud). I was able to easily wire this into the door opener's 120VAC and parallel the switch with the bell-style button that is used. Setup via the Shelly app on my Android phone (Pixel 8 Pro) did not work after multiple attempts, I had to connect the the device's temporary wireless network and use the web interface to setup what I needed. Device is 2.4Ghz network only, however, most should be able to support this; once it was on the network I was able to easily find the device with my HomeAssistant install so I could setup a custom cover device in HA. If you are using this to replicate a doorbell-style button, make sure your timer for "on" is set low (like 2 seconds to make sure the opener sees the signal). Since install, this thing has been rock solid. May look into grabbing more to work with light switches for outside lights. ... show more

  • All I wanted was a better driveway light timer...
Number of Items: 1
... but I got so much more. Frustrated with the normal light timers limited timing features, I turned to one of these Shelly Mini G3 smart switches. It works great and has the timing feature of an individual offset from dawn that was missing from the non-smart timer switches. The manual is bit overwhelming, and it was missing the specific "wiring plan" I needed. Searching the web I didn't easily find the answer. A deep dive into a manual for one of their other products and I found the answer. The wiring I needed was two momentary switches connected directly to the device. While it describes one, it's not clear on how to add more. It's pretty simple, put them in parallel. But this should have been easier to find. I wasn't interested in cloud support and was a little worried I would be required to use it. Again, a detail that is hard to get clarity from any manuals. It's not required or needed for local access only. Once installed, I used the AP feature (Wi-Fi directly to the device, open a web browser). This allowed me to finish the setup and configure the timers all I wanted. It's nice its exposed Web UI did everything I wanted. I continued and joined it my house Wi-Fi and have it automatically set time from the google time services. Then I could access its exposed web interface with directly connecting to the device, just my Wi-Fi; and had it automatically updated its firmware. It did come with firmware that was a version behind. Not really a requirement, but I checked out their Shelly app on my Android phone. It worked great. There are a lot of bad reviews that were recent, so I was worried. I think the complexity of rooms and how to add devices was throwing these people off, but the model clicked with me, and I thought it was very functional and stabile. So, I then ordered three smart outlets to add to the mix; and I am happy. Makes remote control and management of timers all in one UI rather than each units Web UI. There are many other features I haven't even delved into yet, like actions. If the App quits being supported, I can always go back to the fully functional Web UI on each unit. ... show more
