  • Solidly Built, Good Cleaning Performance & Lightweight
Style: Rocket Turbo
Love this Shark! I have a basement that was carpeted in shag-like carpeting by the previous owner. I had an upright Eureka Boss for years which did a great job on it, but it passed away. I tried an Eureka Powerspeed upright and it was just junk - very cheap plastic, hose had very little suction. Blows air out the front that comes back at you. Took that thing back for a refund. I replaced it with this Shark and I love it. It's solidly built, lightweight and does a great job on the carpeting. Easy maneuverability to have to vacuum the stairs. No issue with suction. One of the attachments is great at pulling pet hair off pet beds. Actually has a 5 year warranty. Paid $129 here on sale. Turned out to be a really good value. ... show more

  • Gets what pervious, more expensive vac left behind
Style: Rocket Turbo
I rarely write reviews but this deserved it. I'm shocked and a little disgusted by what this is picking up that our previous vac was leaving behind. 5 stars for that alone. My only complaint is that the bar sometimes stalls out on the thicker rug we have in the bathroom... a height adjuster might be a good idea for future models. It works great on our laminate and large area rugs. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Reliable Corded Power with Outstanding Pet Hair Pickup
Style: Rocket Turbo
I picked this up to handle regular cleanups across hardwood floors and area rugs, and it has delivered consistent, dependable results without any fuss. The corded performance provides nonstop power with zero battery fade mid-clean, and the suction is remarkably strong, pulling up embedded debris, fine dust, and stubborn pet hair in a single pass without scattering particles across bare surfaces. Weighing in at just over eight pounds, the lightweight frame makes it easy to carry from room to room, lift to ceiling corners, or convert quickly into handheld mode for clearing off stairs and furniture cushions. In terms of ease of use, the low-profile head and responsive swivel steering glide smoothly around table legs and slide deep under beds, while the self-cleaning brush roll genuinely prevents long strands from tangling around the roller. The main trade-off comes down to stability, as the top-heavy motor placement prevents it from standing upright on its own if you need to pause mid-sweep, requiring you to lean it against a sturdy surface or unclip the canister onto the base hook for storage. Even with that quirk, the overall durability and fit-and-finish feel tough enough for heavy daily duty, featuring solid locking latches and washable filters that hold up through regular cycles. ... show more

  • Compared to the Lift-Away and the Dysons
Style: Rocket Turbo
We already run a Shark Lift-Away from the warehouse club and a stack of Dyson cordless machines. Started with a DC17 Animal about twenty years ago. Then a V8 when those showed up, then V10, V11. Time on the V15 Detect and the Outsize too. Dyson is the reason bagless vacuums are normal. The old brands were happy to sell you a bag forever. He made that racket look as dumb as it was. Shark is the other vacuum brand that actually lives in this house. Ninja is the same company, just over on the kitchen side. So this Rocket Turbo is not my first stick and it is not my first Shark or Ninja. Performance is what I cared about. Hard floors and low pile, it picks up dirt in one or two passes and gets tight to the baseboards. Thick plush rug is the weak spot. The brushroll fights the pile and you feel it bog down. Still usable. Just not the machine I would pick if the whole house was that carpet. Suction is strong and it stays strong because it is corded. That is the whole point of going back to a cord after years of Dyson batteries. No fade halfway through the upstairs. Battery life is not a thing here. There is no battery. You plug it in and it runs until you are done. I miss the cordless grab-and-go of the V8 and V10 for a quick pass. I do not miss watching the runtime bar die on a full clean. Pet hair pickup is good. The self-cleaning brushroll actually keeps hair off the roller. I am not sitting there with scissors the way I do on older machines. Handheld mode with the pet tool is what I use on stairs and upholstery. Weight is the reason this one gets used. Under 10 lb so it gets carried up our stairs instead of becoming the vacuum that lives on one floor. It is top heavy though. The motor and cup sit up by your hand so your arm does more work than the Lift-Away. Ease of emptying is fine. Cup unlatches, you dump it, it clicks back. Small cup, so you empty it more often than the Lift-Away. Not a project. Just more frequent. Converts to a handheld without feeling like they bolted a second product on for the spec sheet. Low profile head goes under furniture. Swivel is good. No headlights, which I miss when I am chasing dust along baseboards. The crevice tool and pet tool have nowhere to live on the machine. The storage trick of clipping the handheld down on the wand looks weird until you do it, then it makes sense. Stands compact. Just do not lean the assembled stick against a wall and walk away. I would not retire the Dysons. Different jobs. The cordless ones are still what I grab when I do not want a cord. The Lift-Away is still the bigger carpet machine. This one is the everyday in-between. Light enough to take upstairs, strong enough that I am not wishing I had dragged the upright. That is the slot it fills. Five stars. I think it is a good value for that job. ... show more

  • compact and very well made, works great
Style: Rocket Turbo
I think this is an exceptionally well-designed corded stick vacuum. The build quality is immediately noticeable. The plastics, joints, latches and attachment points all feel substantial, with none of the looseness or thin construction I often associate with lightweight vacuums. The modular design is one of its strongest features. The motor unit, wand and floor head detach easily, so it can quickly change from a normal stick vacuum to a handheld unit or a longer-reach configuration. It feels like each arrangement was actually designed to be useful rather than simply added to expand the feature list. Cleaning performance is very good for the size. I measured about 410W with the vacuum motor running and about 450W with the powered floor brush engaged, against the 500W nameplate rating. Larger corded vacuums can draw substantially more power, so I would not expect this to outperform every full-size machine, but it seems to make excellent use of the power available. Suction feels strong and I never get the impression that the compact design came at the expense of useful cleaning ability. That balance also makes a real difference in handheld mode. The motor and housing are small and light enough that using it on furniture, stairs or other above-floor areas is practical. A much larger motor might provide more ultimate suction, but it would also make this form factor considerably less manageable. The self-cleaning brushroll seems to work well too. This is difficult to quantify precisely, but my other vacuums tend to collect a noticeable amount of wrapped hair after only a few uses. This one still picks up hair very effectively, while the brushroll stays substantially cleaner and goes longer before I need to clear it manually. The storage arrangement seemed slightly odd at first because the handheld unit detaches and clips near the bottom of the wand. In practice, it makes sense. Moving the heavier motor section down lowers the center of gravity so the vacuum can stand securely, and it also creates a very compact stored package. It fits easily into a hall closet where I normally would not consider storing a vacuum. I have only two minor complaints. The included crevice and pet tools do not have any onboard storage, so they have to be kept separately. The motor exhaust is also positioned near the user's arm during normal use. The air is warm rather than dangerously hot, but it is noticeable. Overall, I am very happy with this vacuum. It is compact, powerful for its class, easy to reconfigure and unusually well made. I cannot judge long-term durability yet, but the materials and construction give me good confidence that this should hold up well with normal use. ... show more

  • Mixed feelings but I'm mostly really happy with this vacuum.
Style: Rocket Turbo
I have mixed feelings about the Shark Rocket Turbo corded stick vacuum. The suction is excellent, and it easily picks up dust, pet hair, bird feathers and seeds, and whatever other debris my large family manages to create and drop on to our floors. It cleans more thoroughly than several of my other vacuums and gets right up against cabinets and baseboards without leaving debris behind. The vacuum slides easily under beds and most furniture, and I like how versatile it is. It works well on hard floors, rugs, upholstered furniture, cat trees, and pet mats, so I can clean most of the room without pulling out a separate upholstery vacuum. It snaps together easily, the dust cup is simple to empty, and I was impressed by how much debris it holds before needing to be emptied. In a home full of long haired people and cats, I was also very happy that it didn't immediately clog with hair and require cleaning. My biggest complaint is the weight distribution. The upper portion of the vacuum, where the motor and dust cup are located, is much heavier than the lower portion. That makes it surprisingly tiring to maneuver because you're supporting so much of the weight with your arm. As someone with mobility and fatigue issues, it feels like an arm workout after a while. I also really wish it had headlights. I find lights extremely useful for spotting pet hair and dust on my floors, and I miss having them here. Going back to a cord after using cordless vacuums also makes the Shark feel more cumbersome, although there is a definite tradeoff: the cord gives it consistently strong suction and means there's never a battery to run out halfway through cleaning. Storage is slightly awkward as well because the vacuum is so top heavy that it can't simply stand upright on its own. Despite those drawbacks, I still like this vacuum and plan to keep using it. It cleans exceptionally well, handles almost every surface I need to clean, and gets the job done quickly. For me, the cleaning performance is good enough to outweigh the awkward weight and cord, even though I wouldn't consider it the easiest vacuum to maneuver. ... show more

  • Powerful little vacuum, storage options a lacking, better than my normal upright
Style: Rocket Turbo
The Shark Rocket Turbo TV301 is a good fit for someone who wants stronger cleaning performance than a typical cordless stick vacuum but still wants something lightweight and easy to maneuver. I have used quite a few stick vacuums, and the big difference here is that the TV301 is corded, so there is no battery runtime to worry about and the suction stays consistent throughout the job. The cord is also the main tradeoff. At around $200, I think some buyers will expect the convenience of cordless operation, and having to move the plug between rooms makes quick cleanups a little less convenient. The dust cup is also relatively small compared with a full-size upright, so this makes more sense for routine cleaning than tackling a large amount of debris all at once. The vacuum itself weighs under 10 pounds without the cord and accessories, and it feels noticeably easier to carry upstairs or move around furniture than a traditional upright. The swivel steering works well, and the low-profile floor head is useful for getting under beds, couches, and cabinets. It handles both hard floors and carpet without needing a separate machine, which is one of the stronger parts of its functionality. I also like the self-cleaning brushroll. Hair wrapping around a brushroll is one of the more annoying maintenance issues with vacuums, especially in a house with pets or people with long hair. The anti-hair-wrap design helps reduce that problem and should make the vacuum easier to maintain over time. Pet hair pickup is quite good, and converting the Shark into a handheld unit makes it more useful for stairs, upholstery, furniture, and vehicle interiors. The included crevice and pet tools add some practical versatility without making the vacuum overly complicated. Storage is handled a little differently than with a freestanding upright. The handheld section detaches and clips near the bottom of the wand, allowing the vacuum to stand in a much more compact configuration. It takes an extra step, but it works well if closet space is limited. Build quality and usability are about what I would expect from Shark at this price. The TV301 feels substantially more capable than the inexpensive lightweight stick vacuums I have used, while still being easier to handle than a larger upright. At roughly $200, the value makes the most sense for someone who prioritizes consistent suction, pet hair performance, and low weight over cordless convenience. ... show more

  • Love it! Works great! Shark is the way to go!
Style: Rocket Turbo
I’ve been really happy with this Shark Rocket. I wanted something that was easy to grab for everyday messes without having to drag out a full-size vacuum, and this has been great for that. The fact that it’s under 10 pounds makes a big difference. It’s easy to carry around the house, and the swivel steering makes it much easier to get around furniture and into tighter spaces. I also really like being able to convert it to a handheld for stairs, furniture, and those quick little cleanups. It does a great job on both carpet and hard floors, and it has enough suction to pick up the everyday dirt, dust, and pet hair that seems to constantly show up around the house. The self-cleaning feature is another nice touch and saves me from having to constantly deal with hair getting wrapped around the brush. Storage is easy too since it doesn’t take up much room. The cord isn’t an issue for me because I’m usually using it for a specific area rather than trying to vacuum the entire house at once. Overall, this has become one of those “grab it and get the job done” vacuums that I actually use regularly. Lightweight, convenient, and it cleans really well, is not loud and is worth the cost, I mean it’s a Shark!! I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it. ... show more
