I am very impressed with this vacuum! I didn't know that I needed it until I got it. I have owned an upright Shark for going on 12 years now and I've been really happy with it. BUT, I had no clue how much cat hair and dust was still hiding in my rugs until I got this one. MAN, it really pulled up TONS of "unseen" stuff, I was actually kind of grossed out by how much stuff HAHA. It's not that my older one was bad, it's just that this one is SO MUCH BETTER! It was really easy to assemble: snap the pieces together and you're up and running. Some of the features took a minute to get used to, but once you know it, it's easy peezy. I hardly know where to start, so I won't rehash all of the details in the listing, I will just try to highlight what they mean to me. The blue light function really shows all the stuff you can't see with the naked eye. If you look at my photos you can see the "before" next to my bed, you can hardly see anything on the floor. Then in the other pic you see the "during" with the light showing all the stuff clearly. Since I see so much more, I find myself vacuuming longer to "get it all", but then that means that my floors are so much cleaner now than I ever thought they were before. I really like the convenience of this being a 3 in 1. I do find myself switching between modes often while vacuuming the whole house. I struggled a bit with cleaning lightweight rugs, until I learned to do them in stick vac mode and move quickly around the edges before it tries to suck them up. Just like mowing, you'll have to figure out a pattern and strategy that works best for your personal scenario (and you will learn it quickly with a bit of trial and error). I recommend that you thoroughly familiarize yourself with all of the buttons before you use it, so you don't accidentally hit a button that discharges the dirt etc. Once you learn each button it then becomes intuitive. I LOVE the no wrap roller! I have longish hair and all of my adult life I've had to clean vacuum rollers to deal with it. NO MORE, YAY! I find this sweeper to be the most effective in full upright mode, that has the highest suction power. Even though that's the full weight setting it's still easier for this Sr woman to push around than my old one was. No problem at all, feels "self propelled". The stick option also makes it easy to get under beds, etc. and that mode also has a light so you can see without using a flashlight like I did for years HAHA. Also, I found an "under appliance" attachment on Shark's website that I bought for getting under narrow furniture too. That works great! The hand held roller attachment for pet hair works great too, as do the standard attachments. I find that the sweeper perfectly detects the surface mode and switches back and forth as needed with no additional assistance from me. Honestly ALL of the features work exactly as described and as they should. I am so very happy with the performance of this sweeper, but to be real honest I'm not sure I would ever pay the current price of $650 for this or any other sweeper (just being honest) I understand that's kind of the going price for high end sweepers, but that's a lot of money to me. If you need a very high quality sweeper with tons of great features and paying a little more to get that is not a problem for you, then this is the sweeper that you need! Recommend!

I got this Shark vacuum and really like having the option to use it in different ways depending on what I need to clean. I mainly use it around the floors in my home, and it has been easy to move around and handle. I like that I can use it as a regular upright vacuum for heavier messes, switch it to the stick setup when I just need to pick up a smaller mess, or use the lightweight handheld for corners and other hard-to-reach places. Having all three options in one vacuum is really convenient. The setup was simple. I only had to connect a couple of things when I first got it, and I didn't have any trouble figuring out how everything worked. I also like that it moves easily across the floor and doesn't feel like I'm struggling to push it around while cleaning. One of my favorite things is the brushroll. I've had vacuums where hair gets wrapped around the roller and I would have to stop and pull everything off or use scissors to clean it out. I really disliked having to do that every time I vacuumed. With this one, I don't have that same hassle, which makes cleaning much easier for me. The different attachments are also useful. I can use the regular vacuum for the floors and then switch to the smaller setup when I need to clean areas that aren't as easy to reach. The handheld option is especially useful for smaller areas and corners. It also picks up the dirt and debris from my floors well, and I like that I can move it around without it feeling awkward. Cleaning the vacuum itself is pretty straightforward. It's easy to get to the parts that need to be emptied or cleaned, and I like that I don't have to spend a lot of time dealing with the roller after vacuuming. The vacuum also feels sturdy when I'm using it and switching between the different setups. I can't say how it will hold up years from now, but so far the overall construction feels durable and the parts have worked as they should. Pros: Easy to move around, simple setup, useful attachments, three ways to use it, good pickup on my floors, and less hassle with hair getting wrapped around the brushroll. Cons: There are several attachments and pieces to keep track of, so it takes a little time to get familiar with what works best for each cleaning job. Is It Worth It? For me, yes. I like having an upright, stick, and handheld option without needing separate vacuums for different areas. The easy movement and the fact that I don't have to constantly stop and clean hair off the roller are two of the things I appreciate most. Overall, it has made cleaning my floors more convenient and less frustrating.

I am honestly impressed with this vacuum and I do think the value is there given it is one of their flagship offerings. The beauty of this one is that it can 'transform' into three different types of vacuums in one. It is corded but does allow you to be a wand, stick, or upright vacuum. The cool part is that the stick and wand use the smaller dust bin collection on the handle but when you attach the upright part it increases the power and suction from using the attached part. It really kicks it up a notch and you can tell as it starts to pick up more dirt and dust. I do think that is one of the few downsides is that the stick and wand aren't quite as powerful as the upright. But they make it more maneuverable. The handle dust bin also automatically empties into the larger dust bin for the upright when you connect it if the power is still plugged in which is a cool feature but also startled me the first time. I really only use the stick mode for under my couch and a few other things but prefer the power of the upright. It isn't that much harder to maneuver and the difference is quite a bit in the suction power. The cord is very very long at 30ft. I have not had a problem vacuuming any of our rooms and feeling like the cord is short. The quality of everything is also top notch in that I don't feel like they cheapened out and everything fits well together in all of the different modes. I also appreciate the HEPA and odor technology too. The controls take some getting used to but it has settings for bare floor, carpet, and higher pill carpet. The settings adjust the suction power and the brushroll settings etc. It also has the detect system where it can react to floor type, dirt, corners, edges, and cleaning direction. So it kind of reacts to how and where you are cleaning which is neat. I found it worked great for the most part. Some parts of my house have a lot of transitions back to back and the vacuum takes a few seconds to adjust so sometimes it was still adjusting to the last one but its not a huge deal at all. Overall it is a wonderful vacuum. It handles everything I have thrown at it. It is corded but that means it has more power and you don't have to worry about a battery wearing out someday. I really think it does a great job and that the value is there based on the features.

Up until now, I've been using an off brand wireless vacuum that didn't do much to clean my carpet and barely did enough to suck up pet hair off my hard wood floors. This new shark vacuum was a blessing in disguise because its showed me how a good vacuum should clean a house. We have 2 long haired cats and a small dog, and the first time I ran the vacuum through the carpet I was shocked! There was so much hair and dust the picked picked up! It was disgusting, yet satisfying. Ive also recently tested my allergies and found that I am allergic to dust mites, and ever since owing this machine, I realized a decrease in my itchiness and stuffy nose significantly. Ive even been able to reduce my allergy medication intake. I run this vacuum daily now, alongside my air purifier and I feel like I can finally live in my home comfortably. The vacuum itself was super easy to setup and get started with, I was able to do its first test run after about 15 minutes of opening the box. The vacuum is a decent size, not super heavy but it can also be shrunk down to different modes. I like to use the vacuum in its "stick" mode, since I don't have a huge home and it's easier to maneuver around furniture. My favorite part is when reattaching the pod, the vacuum automatically cleans itself. It's a little annoying though, since you cant use the vacuum until it's run through its cycle and the chime plays. Performance wise, the vacuum has a very strong suction, it sometimes even feels like it's pulling itself forward because of how strong it is. I also love the auto detect mode that switches mode depending on what type of flooring its on. It very quickly detects when im vacuuming my carpet and switch to hard wood floor, which then turns on a very bright blue light that shows me where the pet hair is. It's an amazing powerhouse of a vacuum and I am very pleased with its performance. It's definitely on the pricer side but for the value you are getting, I think it's worth the money. I can now get rid of 3 vacuums in my house and just use this one. Side note, I also love the pet hair attachments it comes with, I was able to clean my cat tree house and all my furniture very easily with it!

Summary: Amazingly, this Shark vacuum is much better than my current Shark vacuum at getting my carpets clean. I am absolutely impressed with the Shark PowerDetect Transformer upright vacuum. From its compact design to its exceptional cleaning performance, this vacuum has exceeded my expectations in every way. The first thing that caught my attention was the quality of the vacuum when I opened the box. The Midnight Steel finish is sleek and modern, and I appreciate how easy it is to maneuver between tight spaces with the front's compact size. The front of the vacuum is just the right size to get in between chairs and tight spaces. But what truly sets this vacuum apart is its exceptional suction power. It leaves carpets looking brand new, and I have been blown away by the sheer amount of dirt and debris it can pick up. Even on a rug that I thought was already clean, this vacuum pulled out more dirt and hair than I would ever have expected! Plus the suction of the vacuum leaves the carpets looking like they were just professionally cleaned (see picture). As someone who has had previous experience with Shark vacuums, I can confidently say that this one is the best I have ever used. The absence of hoses when disconnecting the main body makes it easy to clean hard-to-reach areas, such as under tables. I have also been impressed by the customer support I received from Shark in the past. When one of my previous Shark vacuums failed I called the Shark service team. They walked me through several troubleshooting steps (which did not work) and eventually and sent me a free replacement - an experience that few companies can match. This is the fourth Shark vacuum cleaner I have owned and used. I bought Shark #1 about 6 years ago. I ended up giving it to my son (he really needed a great vacuum cleaner). I loved Shark #2 but the brush rollers stopped working (Shark sent me a free replacement #3). And now I have Shark #4. Overall, this Shark PowerDetect Transformer upright vacuum is a significant improvement over my existing model, and I am excited to use it for many years to come. Its high performance, ease of use, and excellent customer support make it a must-have for anyone in the market for a new vacuum cleaner.

I am so glad I got the opportunity to try this Shark® PowerDetect® Transformer™ Upright Vacuum, Midnight Steel, LX5002. I really like using this vacuum. I have a Shark robot vacuum that runs everyday and I thought it was doing a good job of vacuuming up dog hair until I got this. While the robot does a fine job this Shark upright is more like a deep cleaner. My photos are from the first time I used this after the robot vac had done its job. I was amazed at how much I couldn't see that it vacuumed up. The design and versatility of this is great. It is very easy to change to a stick vac or handheld. The length of the cord is generous and I am able to clean my stairs with the handheld and have plenty of extra cord so no need to have to replug at the top/bottom. The headlights are great. Went using on bare floors, it shines a blue light that really illuminates hair and dirt so you can see where it needs to be vacuumed the most. It is very easy to maneuver and the suction changes automatically depending on the type of flooring you are vacuuming. Emptying the dirty canister is a breeze and does not make any sort of mess. I've only been using this for a short time but it feels like a durable vacuum. My only minor negatives are there is no place to store the accessories on the vac itself. It would have been nice of there was an included bag or something to store them in. And, this is not a lightweight vac. For me it is not a problem but I think it could be too heavy for some people, especially if needed to use on multiple floors. I think the price point is a little high but this is brand new as of this review and I know Shark products usually drop in price after they have been available for a little while. Overall, very pleased and happy to know my rugs are so much cleaner now that I got this vacuum.

If I wasn't married, and one can marry a vacuum cleaner, I would marry this one and call him, STEVE! This Shark Power Detect Transformer, transforms lives. I mean it and I should know. I have a cat and two disabled children. One of these children is a teen with a profound disability who loves to crush food items into the floors and carpets. Yes, like a two-year-old but with much bigger hands and better reach. This means that I work hard to clean up and have faced messes that would make most men and women cry. This vacuum required me to assemble the pieces, and it was ready for work in seconds. It is so powerful that after vacuuming an area the size of a chair, the canister was already half full. As you can tell from my second photo, my Amazon area carpet needed some real TLC, and it ended up just sucking it all up. Also, you know that annoying thing that vacuums do where you turn it on and in the middle of vacuuming you have to stand it up and leave it stagnant for whatever reason, but it continues to work hard so it overheats the motor. This baby doesn't do that. If you stand it up, it stops! When you're ready to use it again and slant it, it just starts back up. (hold on, let me wipe the tear). This vacuum makes me so happy! Look, you can look at the ad for all of the specs like what pieces it includes and how it can be used in different ways and sizes, but what it comes down to is how good this is for the price point. Well, I have used other vacuums and our old vacuum is also a Shark. This one is more powerful than any other of them, it is so much easier to use, has amazing details, has impressive quality, and is actually fun to use. I do believe the price point is fantastic for the quality of this vacuum and I can't wait to use, Steve again. Remember, that's what I named it.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer Upright Vacuum is amazing. I'm a longtime fan of Shark vacuums because after over 25 years of purchasing them, I have never had one quit working. I have always been able to pass them on to friends or family in need when I desired a newer model with more bells and whistles. This one is the ultimate 3-in-1, upright, stick, and handvac hoseless vacuum, and it is the best one ever. I have cats and dogs, so I really appreciate the stick because now I can easily get under furniture and beds, and it makes it easy to do a daily quick sweep of my floors to stay on top of their hair. The handheld is great for hard-to-reach places, but I really love the pet tool attachment that removes hair from my furniture. The 30-foot cord makes it really easy to use in many places, I even did my car. Then it empties automatically into the upright's dust cup, so fast and mess-free. Of course, the upright does a wonderful job, the two brushroll system picks up hair great without it getting wrapped around them. I have carpet in my bedrooms and hard floors throughout the rest of my house, and it can automatically adjust to both. One of the most important things to me is that the HEPA filtration system works in every mode, and the anti-allergen complete seal traps 99.99% of dust and allergens, so I'm not stirring up trouble when I use it, because one of my dogs has bronchitis. I think this is an excellent value because Shark vacuums last forever and the 3-in-1 is like having 3. This saves space and really allows me to easily stay on top of my cleaning and keep up with all the hair, dirt, litter, etc. from my pets. This is a must-have for pet lovers.
