  • Great deal and product!
We originally had a Shark Ion robot vac and it kicked the bucket. I planned to wait for a sale to replace it and get an upgraded one with mapping but it's when you don't have something that you realize how much you rely on it. I started looking for an open box to see if any deals were available and sure enough came across this one. I've purchased other refurbished items from Amazon and Woot with no issues. The vacuum came in original box, which I honestly didn't expect and the device was clean. It didn't come with the boundary strips which I had some already but more would have been nice being it said it did come with it but hey it's fine. I did order a package of new filters etc as this was used and I don't expect it to be all new. I'm glad I did because the motor filter was definitely not replaced with a new one so they must have missed inspecting that part. Other than that the product itself was good for being refurbished. Now the actual use of the product, I LOVE! I surely love the up and down cleaning vs zig zag as the previous one. I expected it to run quite a few times to get the map right. I must be a lucky one because the 2nd run gave me a perfect map! Also I learned I DO have no go zones with this and it works! I would say the thing I love most is that once it learns your space, it doesn't slam into the walls constantly like a zip zag model! It get close enough to not miss a spot and turns perfectly along the wall. It's pretty cool! It vacuums great, no issues and we have hard floors and rugs of all textures including shaggy. So far I'm happy with this purchase and device and zero issues! ... show more

  • Updated Review... Just had a lemon and Customer Service fixed the issue...
10/20/2022 - Updating this review. As of this date, Woot Customer Service has been great once they realized exactly what the problem was I was having. They issues a RTV and sent me a prepaid label. The product made it back to their warehouse and I will be getting a full credit for the unit. Also, I went ahead and ordered another vacuum from them. (Based on their Customer Service response AND the fact that the second unit I bought is operating flawlessly.) So fay, this unit is performing exactly as it should. And I LOVE the self-emptying feature. The fact that it's bag-less makes it even better. I'm guessing that the first unit was just a lemon. The replacement unit is certainly not. Thanks for the good customer service Woot. ----------------------------------------------------- Original review: Bought this as a refurbished unit. Set it up exactly as instructed. Unit ran ONCE and now every time I try to launch it, it goes less than 3 feet from the dock and throws a Error #2 obstruction under vacuum. I have cleaned all the wheels, rollers, brushes, sensors etc. twice. I have done a full factory reset and re-added everything through the app and it still fails. I have even tried it in different parts of the house (on carpet, hardwood, tile etc) and I get the same response. The ONLY thing I have found is that one of the side brush motors is harder to rotate than the other but, there no hair of anything else wrapped around the shaft after taking the the brush off. The main roller is clear as well. Came to Amazon to initiate a return. Amazon said contact the seller first. Did THAT got the response. Seller said to initiate a return on Amazon. Did that was told to I need to contact Seller. DID THAT AGAIN. Was told to initiate a return on Amazon. I did THAT again as well. Was told to contact Seller. What a cluster. I'm done with Woot and Amazon needs to up their "return" game. I'm out $250 and STILL need a freakin vacuum. Buy it from a brick amd morter store - you can always WALK IT IN and get better customer service. ... show more

  • If you buy it, buy it new
I bought the Amazon refurbished version of this thinking it would be fine. The vacuum worked pretty well WHEN IT WORKED. I normally set it to run when I go for my walk with my dog. I’ve owned this thing for 10 months. When it worked it definitely helped keep the dog hair at bay. Whenever we hosted I had to vacuum myself because it wasn’t perfect but it made it so I didn’t have to vacuum nearly as often. In the first few months it got stuck maybe 2 or 3 times. I would get this alert while on my walk that the wheel was stuck. It gives “instructions” on how to fix it but those instructions are “Clean out both side wheels and remove anything stuck around the axels.” So helpful…There was never anything stuck around the axels. So I would reset it and it would be fine. About a month ago it started happening about once a week. I reset it and it’s fine. The wheel has now gotten stuck each of the last 4 times I’ve attempted to use it. It never left it’s original room and that room has no change in “terrain”.I investigated today and found out the wheel is not properly set on its axel. I’m the video you can see when you depress the wheel it sticks. The other wheel fits perfectly in its space without touching the sides. This wheel does not. I submitted a request to the seller but I’m not optimistic. For those purchasing it new, there are some not great features. The “rooms” feature works well but resets every so often. So then it has to relearn your house. It was every few weeks which was obnoxious. Also in order for it to work on dog hair it has to be on the “max” fan setting which isn’t quiet. Not an issue if you want to run it when you leave but if you do that and it gets stuck then you have to wait until the next time you leave to run it again. At the end of the day, my other “manual” shark vacuum is more effective and I probably spent more time fixing this thing than it actually saved me in vacuum time. ... show more

  • Cleans quite well. Self emptying is a must! Cleans quite well. Self emptying is a must!
The app was very finicky until the recent update. Every time I would update the map and send it to a room, it wiped the map but left the rooms I had created. Since the update, the mapping function seems to be working much better. It’s by far the best app out of the 3 I’ve tried. The robot seems to be bumping into less now too, even when I cleared the map. I can send it to whatever rooms I want; it stays out of the rest. (1 star) I got this refurbished Shark for $150 (price got 1 star) from the woot store…I just wish I’d been able to purchase more, as they seem to have sold out, and are now double in price from other sellers. Before this one, I’d previously tried 2 other robot vacuums. Both failed for many reasons. I couldn’t really even use the first one. I returned a mop/vacuum combo after I saw how useless the mop function was. I had to empty the dust bin every 5 minutes. This shark empties itself. Saves lot of time and effort. (1 star) It cleans far better than the mop/vacuum combo. I only have to disassemble it if something gets stuck in the dust bin. It notifies me if there’s an issue. The second pic I shared was day 2 when I decided to see how much it was actually picking up. So far, my only con has been how easily the side brushes come apart. That was also on day 2. The options to empty and resume as well as recharge and resume cannot be on at the same time. Choose one. When the robot is low on battery, it will return home to fully recharge. They now work much better since the update as well. (1 star) Overall, I’m quite happy I made this purchase. I also purchased a 2 year extended warranty just to be safe. ... show more

  • A Game Changer! A Game Changer!
I was very hesitate to buy a Robot Vacuum as I expected them to give me problems. My mom has two fat cats that spread litter everywhere all day. Going over the floor with a stick vacuum is easy though tiring and my mom has mobility issues so it's hard to do it multiple times a day. Seeing this Shark IQ Refurbished at $149.99 I decided to give it a shot. Well, my worries were for nothing. This thing is brilliant. You just plug the base in and hit "Clean." It goes horizontal up/down the middle of the kitchen and then it goes over the sides of the room. It's very smart and doesn't get stuck. It detects barriers and doesn't bang itself. It doesn't rush itself and will even go back to a spot it may miss and then continue it's path. It blows my mind seeing how much technology has come. I remember seeing these in a video game over 20 years ago! Those ones floated but we're getting there lol! Anyway, when it is done it will go back to the base by itself and the base will vacuum it clean! You can also always hit the "Dock" button to cancel the cleaning. You can use the SharkClean app on your phone. You can schedule it to run a certain time once a day and use the app to have it clean anytime you want. The app has 3 power strengths but normal is more than fine. It really cleans as good as our uprights Shark, INSE, or BISSELL. It is loud but not crazy. As for the product itself it had a few scratches on it as well as a little dust underneath (but the filters were brand new). Clearly a refurbished product but in good condition and cleaned. Hard to beat the deal at 1/2 off. As soon as I grabbed it the price jumped up as the stock went down. I bought a 3 year warranty with it too. Overall I really like it and it's a big help with the cat mess and normal dust. I had never thought about these seriously but once you have one it's hard to live without it. You got to see it work to appreciate how smart it is. ... show more

  • Great vacuum, awful app Great vacuum, awful app
Bought this to do a daily clean for dog hair. The vacuum itself is amazing. Effective, quiet, thorough. It comes with two single brushes, I picked up a set of double brushes here and it made it much more effective especially in corners. It's pretty aggressive with trying to get places it's not allowed (both no-go zones and marked off with a magnet strip) but rarely gets actually stuck. It does occasionally forget to go back to the charger at the end of a long clean and just sends me a note and waits to be picked up. It knows and follows the existing map every run, but it's always checking for new areas to clean. I occasionally move some of the furniture to let it get to new places, and it always finds them. The app though, is shamefully awful. Regularly signs me out, regularly goes back to the start page with the first run checklist. I can name rooms once it builds a map, but every single time I try to make it clean a specific room the map goes wonky and the vacuum just cleans the room it's in. I then have to erase the map entirely and let it rebuild from scratch. Most of the time if I give it the 'return to dock' command it says it accepted the order then the robot just ignores me and keeps cleaning. I've tried to change the language a number of times and it always responds with 'robot is downloading new language pack' but never does. I've reset it to factory defaults, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, deleted and re-associated the robot with my account. Still has the same problems, the app is just badly written and not well supported. TL/DR: If you leave the robot to just do it's thing every day it's amazing. This is honestly the pinnacle of human advancement, better than spacex tossing rockets into space every few days. It's a robot. That vacuums. Every day. That said, if you want something interactive that you can actually make do things you want, this one isn't it. If you want to tell alexa to have the robot vacuum the den, it's gonna break the app and the robot will be lost. Also why these don't come with googly eyes already installed is beyond me. ... show more

  • Can’t go wrong with a shark
Bought refurbished and so far works well and am pleased how it leaves a fresh vacuumed look on my carpet. Did noticed some areas on hardwood floor missed but got to give it time to learn my floor plan. The auto dust empty is a great feature. All around I love a shark product.
