Out of the box, the Shardor Espresso Machine with milk frother is very good. I'm a daily espresso drinker and was very pleased with the espresso and frothed milk coming out of this machine. Here's what I like: **GOOD PACKAGING arrived in perfect condition -- The machine I received wasn't even packed in an external shipping box. The shipping label was affixed to the outside of the machine box yet, even without added padding, the unit arrived in good condition. Inside the unit and parts were encased in thick Styrofoam. **TASTES GOOD -- The espresso is tasty, full bodied and hot -- just the way I like it. The frothed milk is good too. **EXCELLENT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS --The unit comes with a booklet that excellently explains the parts, operation, troubleshooting and cleaning of this product. **REMOVEABLE FROTHER STORES MILK -- If you want, you can detach the milk storage container with unused/leftover milk iand place the container n the refrigerator. Of course, you eventually have to clean the container but having the milk already in it and just popping the container into the unit saves prep time. **OVERFLOW SAFEGUARDS -- This unit has a reservoir to collect any liquid overflow on the coffee side. That's pretty standard for espresso and coffee machines. What's different here is that there's a red button that pops up if the reservoir is full, so you can empty and avoid a flood on your countertop. Also, if the milk container isn't properly seated, the coffee making buttons won't light up. This is a good way to prevent sticky milk leaks due to the milk bin not being fully popped into place. **WARRANTY -- The unit comes with a one-year warranty, with an option to extend the warranty to two years. The warranty is for home use only, not commercial. **USES TAP WATER -- While the instructions call for purified water and vinegar for descaling, you can use tap water when making coffee. **TRIM IS REAL METAL -- Sure, part of the housing and liquid vessels is made from plastic but the silver front, top and overflow reservoir tray are all made of metal. Gives the unit a rich look and probably helps with durability, though I haven't owned this unit long enough to comment on that yet. What Could Be Better -- **DETACHABLE MILK FROTHER -- For those who have limited counter space and don't use the milk frother regularly, it would be nice if the coffee and frother parts of the machine could be completely separated. Without the frother, this unit could fit in a fairly narrow space. As it is, the milk container pops out easily but the base that surrounds it is permanently attached to the coffee maker. **TAMPER UNIMPRESSIVE -- The included coffee scoop doubles as a tamper. It's not a great one. I wish it were heavier for easier tamping. it works but is the least impressive aspect of this set. As stated above, I haven't had this unit long enough to comment on durability. Upon initial set up and use, the unit makes an impressive espresso, latte or cappuccino. Cleaning the unit isn't difficult. There's even a "clean" setting on the froth control button that makes steam cleaning the milk hose and froth spigot simple. I recommend this machine. It makes a nice cup of espresso and other coffee drinks. A bean grinder is not included so you'll need to add one of those. This unit does not use any kind of pods, just ground espresso. Try it, I think you'll like the Shardor Espresso Machine.

The media could not be loaded. Let me make mistakes so you don't have to. Summary: 1. Read instructions - It has one of the best manuals I have read 2. Works great with any milk. I used whole milk and almond milk, and both frothed great 3. Takes less than 3 minutes for the machine to heat entirely and 5 minutes to make a latte 4. All the pieces are easy to clean and assemble 5. The cup warmer is a nice touch 6. I will have to get a sturdier espresso tamper 7. The machine is loud, but not loud enough to wake up my household when I make my coffee at 6:00 am 8. My husband said the cappuccino reminded him of France First, read the instructions thoroughly! The machine has stickers, and the first few pages of the manual are well-written. There is a page with a breakdown of cup sizes for each type of coffee. It is definitely user-friendly. I had never used one of these before, but after reading everything, I was able to successfully prep the machine and make a cappuccino in 30 minutes. The cost of the machine will more than compensate for the money I have and will save by the end of the year. My Starbucks and Dunkin trips averaged $6-10 a day, but I have not been to either for two weeks. When I was learning how to use the machine, I made a mistake in the video because I wanted to use my new duck cup, which is smaller than my latte cups. My almond milk spilled because of me and not the machine. There is also enough room to have two espresso cups beneath the portafilter. I haven't mastered making coffee without messing up or leaving a trail of milk and coffee. Now that I am more confident, I can buy more expensive coffee. I am using Folders Classic Roast to practice with, and it is still delicious. Now I have to recreate the iced brown sugar shaken espresso.
