I have a child who has a hard time going to sleep at bedtime, and generally does not enjoy being in his room once it gets dark outside and everyone starts to settle down in the house. He finds reasons not to stay in his room, and is difficult to get comfortable enough to sleep. Recently we started looking at the stars and constellations through a telescope, and astronomy has piqued his interest. I bought this little contraption to see if I could use it as an incentive to keep him in the room. It worked wonders! The set up is as easy as finding a plug, and the design of the projector is very fitting. It looks more expensive than it is. The quality of the lighting is very good. I will warn you, like most consumer projectors, this is designed to be used inside when it is relatively dark. This isn't for mid-day usage as the light won't be easily seen in your rooms. The nebula allows you to change its color, and it looks great. My only knock is that the stars are all the same color; green! We can't change the star color, and altough it bothers me, it doesn't bother my son at all. He enjoys it so much, that he runs to his room at bedtime and just watches the stars on his ceiling! ... show more

First pic is taken during the day with the blinds shut. Still displays the stars and galaxy well. Other pic is at night. Has several color options my son just loves the blue/green mixture. You can turn stars on or off and just display the galaxy or just display stars. Astronauts head is movable so you can point it wherever you want. I bought a flat USB charging block. I am a therapist and my clients of all ages enjoy it, especially children. It can be a bit overwhelming and distracting for some people, but overall I have received great feedback. I also enjoy it as a nightlight in my room. What is tricky about the projector is finding the optimal placement, otherwise, the star beam projector (not the nebulous projector) can shine in your eyes and it quickly becomes extremely uncomfortable. I wish the size of the projection on the wall/ceiling was a bit larger but the clarity and colors are solid. If you're looking to spice up the ambiance in a room, this is a great way to do it. We purchased a different one after a little cheaper (more girlie and cute) for our 5 year old and she wants to return it for the same one as big brother.
